Hey, Sokol Kozlov - THANK YOU!!!!! I had no idea why after all this time of me not playing GMod much, that I didn't have the option anymore. So I had subscribed to this addon to try and get it back. Tonight though, the addon isn't working for me. So I came here, and I saw your comment. And it worked! Thank you bro!! Now to add that to my autoexec. :D

Persistance has NOT BEEN REMOVED from the game and this tool still in fact works! In order to get it back, all you have to do is type "sbox_persist 1" into the console. For some god forsaken reason, in a recent update, the value has been set to 0 possibly by mistake. I see a lot of people complaining that the option was straight up removed so I wanted to let everyone know that it is not true and is still in the game.

This tool isn't working anymore. In sbox_persist file 0 (One that I need to be in so that saves load with persistence and don't lose it on props n' such) disables the tool completely, as while the tool says that the prop has persistence. It doesn't.

Please. Fix this. This is a very useful tool and no other alternatives exist on the workshop to my knowledge.

Do "sbox_persist 1" that's what enables it for Holding C and the tool. I don't why it's off by default.

It looks like the tool's finally broken, because when I persist something, it still allows me to grab it. Please fix this.

They did NOT remove "make persistent." You just have to re-enable it via the "Persistence Mode" bar at the top right of the map selection screen, by adding a 1 there.

Well they just removed the "make persistent" from the right-click menu, so now I'm using this whether I like it or not I guess.

Beats the crap out of having to deal with accidentally picking-stuff up with the phys-gun, now that that previous option is gone.

(Would be great if possible to multi-persist props welded together, if not have an area-persist which persists props in a configurable radius.)

Bug report: When I change the tool to this, it gives me an error on top-left but somehow there is no error at all.
Do you think you can remove the error message? This tool looks ok.

As for the guys asking, making a prop or ragdoll persistent is making them unmovable to the physgun. It's useful for not unfreezing and moving props by accident.

This made keeping set pieces stable while posing ragdolls a lot faster. Also, the tool showing if an entity is non-persistent, persistent, or a map brush/displacement is a very nice and helpful touch.

Like the error says and like I wrote in the description, that error is meant to happen. I made that error happen on purpose, because it is required to fix a bug. The tool still works even when you get the error.
I have tried find a better way to fix that bug, but I was unsuccessful and I don't work on this addon anymore.

I'm ok with that as long as it improves the functionality.

Anyways, do you think it would be possible to add a whole contraption persisting functionality? Such as when the user combines the primary/secondary fire or the reload button with Shift, the tool would target each constrainted prop, such as this:
local attached = constraint.GetAllConstrainedEntities( trace.Entity )

That would surely be a huge time saver!
