I don't even remember what it does its been that long haha.
If I recall, it provides the heat, cold and radiation protection that the EPP would normally provide so players don't have to keep switching between EPP and Jetpacks.
So whatever other mods do is beyond my control.
My objective - compatible with base game. So far so good (^^,)
I don't mod SB anymore, but happy for someone else to grab the asset and make a spin on it to whatever suits their requirements.

Awesome mod! It's on my permanent list. Does the Life Support Augment work on Arcana's planets? If not, would be able to add an augment that covers all the vanilla and Arcana hazards?

Did you read the manual? (craftable book item in hand crafting menu)
Has all the details - I hope.

Basically if you have the fuel jetpack you need to make fuel cells and consume them like you would a consumable item.

Fuel jetpacks should have a mini resource bar above your head when you wear it. Only GUI is with the body tech item which brings up a menu showing fuel and maneouvres the player can activate.

Been a while since I looked since I've retired from SB modding.

i seem to be unable to pick up the jet packs with https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2053251870 mod installed i assume this has to do with the custom jet pack tool tip being unregistered with the mods sorting system but my understanding of code is limited so idk

Nah, these are way better than the shuttle mod. I have both. These are the perfect thing for surface exploration while still using your own default weapons. Land and interact with stuff instead of worrying about a vehicle. I find them excellent for mining straight down as well. Take it off if you really need to. Simple. Rocket pack with stabilizer works best. This + Lyetzi's Gunshop Mod together are the best mods for this game, period.

Personally, I tampered with things a bit to make the booster pack act just like the rocket pack, so now I have two different designs that work great for everything I need. Even using the awesome Wolfen Gunship I still use these to jump out and fly back up to it, so they can be a plus even when using vehicles.

Yeah I ended up with a few variants on how they move. People wanted packs to last forever and I said no, because I believe in balanced game-play. But yeah you're right, I mainly made them to overcome obstacles and there really isn't any use case in moving around a base, but rather scaling mountains or just hovering across water or fraging monsters.

Since I retired from modding this game, I'm certainly sure there are much more efficient and creative methods of moving around nowadays

I remember a long long time ago when the packs were simpler. They were borderline necessary for the player to overcome high gravity.

Honestly, the packs kinda suck.
I appreciate the effort, but whatever method you needed to use to make them work is very much not user-friendly.
Any kind of mining, dungeon crawling, or casual use in your base is right out, which makes it useless 99% of the time.
Meanwhile, shuttles exist and can be used for traversing the skies with much more simplicity.

Hmm, interesting. I haven't tested any interactions with other mods. I do know I incorporated into a tech, armour or a jetpack back item itself a slow fall property. Which I know can be refreshed to normal movement physics if the player warps, but not aware of any issue unfortunately :/

Hello, I think I have a bug when using the jetpacks. The problem is that I keep falling slow even when I took it off. I don't know if it's a mistake due to wearing a FU armor.

Yeah, I expected a few graphical bugs when messing around with rotation. A minor bug that doesn't break the game I wasn't willing to invest in fixing.

The rotation on the jetpacks is a bit wonky with gic guns, it has the guns facing down if when you are trying to fire forward.

understood my man since then iv finly got the game working with all the othe rmods i was trying and i dont want to undo that by unsubbing to all but your mod and the sip patch again so i guess it will go unfixed for me at least ^^; damn. tc m8

That would be a painstaking process which would result in too many pages for me to script.

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you referring to clicking an item in the crafting menu and the game freezes? any change you can get a log and post it in bug fixes? I could help troubleshoot, but I'm not touching anything in this mod unless it happens to me and several others too. Might be conflict of some kind.

even just using this and its needed mods it doesint work the items show in the list but trying to click on them to add freezes the menue, please fix this mod its a great mod id like it back ^^

Hello, I was wondering if it would be possible to make the manual larger and with an easier to read font? It's quite difficult to make out what it says as it is. I also wanted to mention that there is a spelling error on page 10, "wreckless" should be "reckless".

Can't remember who I spoke to, but they identified the issue as this mod using an older version of the keybinds script. Since I had no more use for keybinds I left it in there just in case, without realising it would conflict. Apologies for the inconvenience. I hope people can enjoy both mods now (^^,)

Ok, I've removed the suspected file that is redundant causing this issue. I was apparently using an old version of keybinds. And to be honest it didn't serve much use in this mod anyway when I was designing the tech stuff. Let me know if this mod now works with RPG growth. I'll always aim to make my work as compatible as possible (^^,)

Pardon me good Sir, but I've just come from Sumenora's Improved Particles mod page. In his most recent correspondence of the mod comment section, he noted that this mod has conflicts with RPG Growth.

I just thought you may want to know. Something to do with class skills(Ninja skill 3 was mentioned).

@Spike, that is because I removed teleportation and replaced that tech with maneouvres. and I renamed everything. so I think try unsubbing again. make sure the folder is removed. boot the game. it will freak out as usual to missing content, then perhaps check to see if all is up to date, then resub if you like.

I did remove the teleport tech because theres other mods that all that functionality and I wanted the tech to focus strongly around the jetpacks

Hi there, I was getting back into modded Starbound for the first time in a few years and every time I open my inventory I'm getting an error disconnecting back to the main menu saying that no such tech exists for 'essential_jetpacktech_teleport'. I'm assuming this was removed from the mod but it's still trying to find the instance of it in my tech list I had. Is there any way to fix this or do I just need to unfortunately remove the mod?

I wanted to keep weapons minimal. same thing with augments. I wanted to keep things as exclusive types and not double up on anything. Like if I had a hand held flak gun vs a machine gun or missile launcher I wouldn't want another weapon that is essentially the same thing. Same thing with the jetpacks, each has their own unique function, one uses fuel the other uses energy. Each has their tradeoffs.

suffice to say I've perfected this mod since I released it and until I have amazing good ideas for it, I won't be updating or adding content any time soon. Less is more! (^^,)

the rum captains special is near perfect. but it makes me run and walk at rediculus speeds. could you by chance turn it down a notch? im using a mandalorian mod with a great armor look but non functioning jetpack. i found your mod and got extatic :D

They have a 5 second timer. If you remain still you will be lowered to the ground. Mid air jetpacks you move enough to start falling and fly downwards. Its all in the manual

I've added my own recipe of barrel powered insanity that has infinite fuel, but horrendous mobility and handling.
You could alternatively use fuel or energy boosting augments or simple fly around in admin mode. I considered it but infini-packs are OP. Even regular jetpacks are OP based on how starbound is designed with its levels and mob AI :/

If you know exactly what the conflict is, please post it in the bug fixes discussion.
I assume it has to do with whatever tech I made, vs the tech used by that mod. Perhaps try unequipping items, and selecting other techs other than the ones I made for this mod. See what happens.
