Changing anatomy doesn’t qualify as parody, education, or criticism, and derivative mods aren’t protected just because the original is still available or the patch requires it.

Intent doesn’t override copyright. Without the creator’s permission, it’s still their work, and modifying and redistributing it is still a derivative use that fair use doesn’t automatically cover

Furthermore, if I release a patch that requires this original, it would not interfere with the distribution or availability of the original in anyways.

The intent is not to have a counterfeit nor a replacement, but just the option to patch this mod for those that want breasts that are consistent with the vanilla’s character design. I personally want that modified.

The fact that someone filed a bad DMCA against you doesn’t change how permission works anyone can abuse the system, and Steam just follows the procedure automatically. That doesn’t mean permission is meaningless or that fair use applies here. Asking permission isn’t just a courtesy; it’s the only way to legally and ethically use someone else’s work.

Also, acting like this would realistically go to court is a bit of a reach. No one is going to spend thousands of dollars in legal fees over a Steam Workshop mod, so basing your argument on a hypothetical lawsuit is a pretty shaky position

Also, perhaps you don’t know this, but asking permission makes no difference. I had explicit written permission from Koala to patch his mod. And guess what? ShallowIris, who’s not even a contributor of KCC, was able to file a DMCA notice and have my patch taken down for a few weeks.

My patch is now reinstated after the cool iff period. So as you can see, what does it really matter if you ask or not?

The only actually effective course of action is to invoke fair use, and let it go to trial if needed. Asking permission Is a curtesy, and unfortunately, ome of little worth given the rampant DMCA take down abuse in this community.

But if you want to take what other modders have made and change it, then there is nothing that says you have permission to do so unless you ask them directly.

It’s always the creator who defines the experience not the user. Judging by your attitude, you must LOVE AI art, because that’s the level of respect you seem to give real artists. “but weegh copyright” Is it that hard to show basic respect to people who put in time and effort to create something they’re sharing for free? is it so wrong for them not to wish their hard work be stolen by others who couldn't build something of their own from the ground up? to not have some lazy disrespectful bum piggy back off of others?

I dont have a choice because all of the other class mods cant compete, its either anime which, hell no, or op ♥♥♥♥ that I am too masochistic to enjoy playing with. god forbid someone make a new batch of textures for a fetish mod that is cool in every department except for one part; the textures.

this is one of hundreds of mods, you don't NEED this mod for anything so you can either get over the problems you have and enjoy the mod for what it is or you can enjoy hundreds of other mods sort of how most people do with anything they can spend their time with. the creator is not getting paid by us for downloading, we are not customers complaining about a product to some big company, the only reason anyone can download the mod is because a fan of the game decided to make a mod how they wanted it to be.

Very strong class, but I believe there is 1 buff That is needed: The buff chance on monster manual is way to low for a cost 4. There have been 2 times inwhich I used the skill and got no buffs at all!

Love the utility from this girl, but running into an issue. Ran a quest with her and another mod, The Hood, and Hood shuffles herself putting Seeker from 2nd to 3rd rank. While I have moves available in third rank, sometimes they're all grayed out, unable to use. Then sometimes they're all available to use. But never get this problem in her original rank which is weird. Her only negative quirk is -blight resist so that's not it. Hidden effect maybe, as mentioned in her moves above?
