Guild Master room was already unlocked and I can't relock it, bath and privy are available, bit nobody has any new dialogue options. Did I have to have the mod installed BEFORE starting the thieves guild quest line? I've Uninstaller, re-installed, disabled, and re-enabled, but nothing has worked. Can't get my Following Mercer mod to work, either. I'm bummed. These mods sound awesome for my favoueite guild. Please help!
It should be there! (Please see the pic) And if it's not, make sure the mod is checked in your Data file on the load screen. Are you getting the bath and the privy? If you are...then please try LOOT; something else could be interfering. It's usually pretty stable.
Did the little red journal no appear on the bookshelf near the ladder exit? You need to pick it up and read it to start the dialogues. If you did this prior to Darkness returns, I'm afraid you'll have to un-sub and re-sub the mod...something I'll address in the expansion.
One of the elements I failed to predict was that a Player might open the journal ahead of returning the Skeleton key. If you did this, the 'quests' will fail to initiate and you won't get the dialogue. The only thing to to is to do the unsub/re-sub dance once "Darkness Returns" has begun.
The other snag for some Player seems to be the initiation of the 'Shacking up' stage. Here is the setstage console command:
SetStage TG09BrynjolfTogether 10
Hope that helps!
Thanks for checking out the mod :)
First thing I'd do is try Load order: I use LOOT myself to sort my mods.
Secondly, then I'd check for conflicting mods. Conflict usually result in the mod not working properly, not in the game crashing. 'Brynjolf has Time' doesn't require the DLC's, so it won't be that. Open Cities is often a crasher (for quite a few mods) and could be causing the problem. Then I'd check for any mods that change the Cistern. I've added quite a lot of extra territory there..
Let's do the check: you have SKSE (and SkyUI helps)....
You've check LOOT or some other load order sorter...
You aren't running another mod that conflicts (many follower overhauls)
you've opened and pocketed the journal near the ladder entrance to the Cistern
I'll check in a little later to see your answer.
So sorry for the slow reply. I've been busy with painting and perhaps more excitingly, the big expansion of this mod.
I'm sorry it's being so frustrating and thank you for your persistence.
Your description is intriguing: that even after un-subbing, Bryn is still wearing the Masterthief armour means the mod is not uninstalling clean. (I'll think more about this. I've started to make fairly elaborate Uninstalls as part of my more recent mods, especially when I've had to overwrite vanilla items.'Brynjolf Has Time' is mostly additions though, so it should un-sub clean.) Could you possibly go into your Data folder and delete the mod there completely? You'll have the .esp, .bsa etc. in the Data folder, and under sound: voice and fx folders will have 'Brynjolf Has Time' folders.
The other thing is to simply start a new game. You could try using the mod from Nexus, where there are both Oldrym and SE versions.
Please excuse the slow reply; I've actually been working hard on a big expansion to the mod. He..he..he
This point can be a little glitchy for some reason...
SetStage TG09BrynjolfLovers 60
is the console command to advance the quest.
I have tried everything I could think of, however the problem with Bryns followermode still stands.
His dialog is in followermode, and while glued to the spot, he will follow my moves when I am going into sneaking or draw /sheat my weapon. He will be standing there until I make him unfollowing.
I do not understand this: When I unsubscribe and go back into the cistern, Bryn is still in black and unhooded. I play Skyrim special edition too and there he is hooded and wears brown when all guildquests is done. (And has no time for mee.)
It is like there is something left when I unsubscribe that stops me from having a fresh start. I asume there shouldn't be.....
PUZZLE :-)
am i missing something or do i just need to type in the command code and move on lol
i tried reinstalling the mod but that didnt fix it sadly
Yeah, I agree, a ceremony in front of Mara seems so...conventional. Domesticated. Brynjolf is a baaad man and he always will be. As I say, I'm working on the expansion right now, setting up Rune's weird voyage of discovery. Brynjolf, of course get's mixed up in a side quest. The first thing he does is show you his secret stash. What shall we find out about him? Crazed hoarder? Ascetic monk? That he's been shoring up the Guild; buying food...
Sorry to seem needlessly mysterious. I put the door in place for a specific element of the expansion I am currently writing. It will go somewhere....
Before I subscribed your mod I did go for Friendly Brynjolf. But he is just too special to become an ordinay domasticated spouse
Thank you for your respond, but Brynjolf is still stuck to the spot, from where I have asked him to become my follower.
Installing of SKSE did not change anything. The console command does not work either in this case. But I encountered some new wonderfull dialog while I was trying to make it work. Now the sweetroll poetry makes a lot of sense. I was giggeling- very intertaining.
A trackback to the beginning of the followerproblem states that it happend when I unchekked your previous versions in my dataloading to stick with Brynjolf has time.
But never mind. I am going to reinstall the mod. I would be worth it!
You can call on me, if you think I can help testing :-)
I tried to use it but I did not succeed. Do not I have the right key? I just have the pot.
Glad you are enjoying the mod! I am currently expanding "Brynjolf has Time", but it'll take a while, and I'm still not sure about marriage with such a scallywag. For Lakeview, I'd use "Friendly Brynjolf" , which puts the lad on the usual marriage engine. It doesn't conflict, but the vanilla engine does override the Guild master's room behavior. It will also make him a vanilla-style follower.
Thank you so very much for sticking with the mod all the way through its long journey. I'm pleased and grateful you've tried all three version; hope you've found the improvements have been worth the re-installation bother. I'll know who to call on to test version 4 when I've moved farther along on the expansion I'm currently working on....bwahaha
I went into the ck and looked. The teammate pack that makes Brynjolf a follower is pretty simple; it should be working fine. Was it working before you installed SKSE? I've always used the two together, so I know it's not a conflict. I wonder if it changed something and you'd have to re-install the mod. First though, try console comnanding Bryn to follow, then dismiss him and try again:
SetStage TG09BrynjolfFollower 20
Are you currently using any other mods that affect follower behavior? Convenient horses does work for the SE Players, but some mods make subtle changes that are hard to anticipate.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It's lovely to meet another kindred soul who can recognise the purpose of the mod. I'm gratified you could see the blood, sweat and tears (maybe eye-strain and stiff wrists....) And then there was the BETA testing!
I agree, the romance could develop so much farther, to at least making a home above ground and adoption? For although Brynjolf may loathe the idea of children in the Ratway, it doesn't mean he dislikes children.
I have finally returned to the after a hiatus. There are several quests involving the Guild that were implied but never finished; the first being Rune's origin, then Sapphire's father, Glover, and on from there. I have started building Rune's story, but I also need to continue where Brynjolf's left off. I'll keep you posted.
Like what someone else said, my only gripe is that you can't actually 'marry' him. I'd love for him to be at lakeview manor but that doesn't appear to be an option. Mods are pretty complex, however. So I understand if that's not really a thing that can happen or would be very difficult.
Thank you for providing this mod!
When you are busy - I have patience :-)
I have been playing Skyrim since day one and just love how the game has evolved thanks to artists like you.
I do not use other mods for in the Thieves Guild or any other mods you have made remarks against.
I have been using both of your previous versions of Brynjolf has time for you. Now I only have the latest version. A few days ago I installed SKSE . Everything looks fine.
Brynjolf is going about his daily routine in the guild and spend the night in the GM room. I have asked him to follow me from the cistern, the bath, GMs room and everywhere I can think of.
He will answer by "Lets get the show on the road" . He just doesn't move....
So I even got married to see if it would change anything. He had his say about that, but didn't change his additude
I'm sorry for taking so long to answer. It's been a hectic beginning to the year. I should be consistent on the support for the mod now that I've finally started to expand upon it.
Let's take it from the top. There were several version of this mod, from BETA through refined versions, because I didn't want to interrupt anyone's game if they were enjoying the Guild master's room, etc. (Glad you like the privy! did you read the toilette paper?)
Have you always just used this version? After that, I need to ask, which other Thieves Guild mods are you using? When Brynjolf won't follow, etc...it's usually because of a changed navamesh (another mod overwriting mine) or furniture from another mod blocking the way.So let's figure out which it is. The other thing I can do is send you the quest stage to nudge him ahead.
Thank you very much for your feedback I've sent you a friend request, because I am in sympathy with what you said and would be interested to hear your suggestions. Romance in Skyrim is hard, and in many ways this mod really does feel like a beginning. I have started back working on it in order to expand it. And it is a sizable undertaking, let me tell you.
Glad you like the offering. It's close to my heart....a sort of playable Fanfic really.
I can`t get Brynjolf to follow me. The dialog is ok, but he just won`t move.
I have tried the quest over and over in every different way possible. The only time he moves is when he gets a bar of soap. Then he goes to the bath and just stays there. We can have a dialog about other things. He will not become an active follower, no matter what. I miss travelling with him......
Is there any console command to restore his followermode.
uncheked the previous versions and used your advice regarding consol command: SetStage TG09BrynjolfLovers 60
Room is back to normal. My stuff is still there and the dialog is in progress :-) (we just kissed)
I love this mod. :-D
I found the notebook and then I gained intrance to my GM lovenest again. I had to start over by taking the key to the cabinet where I left some stuff months ago. I stll have my own previous stored inventory there and in the GM room, but many of the other things in the room have multiplied (doubled) 😲 Like weaponrags, smithing tools, weapons, rugs, the bed, mannequins......It is kind of messy and I don't know what to do about it. Unfortunately Bryn didn't get a twin 😜
