Just watched Lpfreaky90's vid...I can see the sources of frustration for the first part as well: the portalable surface on the left side when you enter the room doesn't seem portalable initially.

In short, the learning curve is just too steep for most test subjects to handle.

Excellent art design again, although it feels as if you have to speedrun to beat that last part.

I already found out how to do it thanks anyways:p2aperture:

Awesome map Innocentive. Pretty hard too, and a bit small, but not too small. :)

@RADELITE: there's a button on the toolbar that allows you to cut off a section. In order for it to work you first must create a brush. While you have the red lines, click the vertex tool (which looks like a wireframe. then click and I believe drag to create a line. Then there's a white and red part. White is the new shape. Press enter to cut that. Press the vertex button a few times to get different cut modes. One is clockwise, the other anticlockwise, and the third is split (which means that you have both halfs of the cut, and after you can select/move/delete the halfs.

cool

Well, indeed there was some more work involved. If I remember correctly, the basic technique was building arches in all sorts of shapes, cutting them and then use the vertex tool ... every curve you see in this map is the remnant of a modified arch.

I know that but you cant just make a cylinder hollow and cut the walls off till you get the shape

When you activate the Block tool just choose another shape to build from the drop down menu on the right side. Where it says block you can also choose cylinder, spike, etc.

I know hammer but I havent found that option thats like the one thing I havent learn how to do

Do you know Hammer? You can build brushes in all sorts of shapes ... I decided to make a map full of curves in this map.

How do you make thos shapes

oh it's showtriggers_toggle :D (showtriggers 1 doesn't seem to work; toggle does)
Innocentive  [создатель] 12 мар. 2013 г. в 0:43
BTZ, the trigger that you showed (how?) is the trigger_catapult propelling the player... :D

Thanks NiclO and Lpfreaky90 for playing and commenting! I know about that unintended solution, NiclO, but I'm not sure if I can prevent this. I already restricted the amount of portalable surfaces to a minimum ;D.
And thanks Lpfreaky90 for that video! It was very instructive to watch that. You did miss one obvious thing (apart from the portalable 'grey' wall). There's a sign in the entry area opposite the info sign saying that you should play the first PFG map first ;D. The second part of the puzzle in PFG2 should be very easy after playing PFG. So either you play PFG first or you push yourself up by jumping and then shooting a blue 'push' portal against a vertical surface .

I played through your map. I was stummed. I made a video of me trying to figure this map out. I hope it's useful in some sort of way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=xQ24jdGMers

Great map! Cheers! Beautiful!
Your intended solution was nice! I just put blue portal in middle and sucked the cube there, took many tries but it was easy.
Innocentive  [создатель] 28 фев. 2013 г. в 17:17
I added a video walkthrough fo the intended solution. I'm sure that other solutions are possible but that's what I had in mind making the puzzle.
Innocentive  [создатель] 28 фев. 2013 г. в 8:17
That's what this test chamber is all about: working with a force emitting device in a very restricted area. On that note, there's a solution that doesn't take any chances and needs no special skills ... just careful portal placement and movement. Gonna upload a video walkthrough soon... :D
Hhhologram 28 фев. 2013 г. в 7:54
Well done! It was just kinda annoing that the cube alwais jumped off the button when i placed a portal.

Thanks a lot! I programmed a script for the force effects ... the effect looks more impressive than the programming actually is. It's just a matter of calculating/assigning vectors/angles ;D

wow, that was an absolutely amazing map. I have no idea how you made it work but it's great. I really like the idea for the portalgun
