In short, the learning curve is just too steep for most test subjects to handle.
@RADELITE: there's a button on the toolbar that allows you to cut off a section. In order for it to work you first must create a brush. While you have the red lines, click the vertex tool (which looks like a wireframe. then click and I believe drag to create a line. Then there's a white and red part. White is the new shape. Press enter to cut that. Press the vertex button a few times to get different cut modes. One is clockwise, the other anticlockwise, and the third is split (which means that you have both halfs of the cut, and after you can select/move/delete the halfs.
And thanks Lpfreaky90 for that video! It was very instructive to watch that. You did miss one obvious thing (apart from the portalable 'grey' wall). There's a sign in the entry area opposite the info sign saying that you should play the first PFG map first ;D. The second part of the puzzle in PFG2 should be very easy after playing PFG. So either you play PFG first or you push yourself up by jumping and then shooting a blue 'push' portal against a vertical surface .
Your intended solution was nice! I just put blue portal in middle and sucked the cube there, took many tries but it was easy.
