@Fant Azero - I would like to talk about a mod collaboration for this. Can you message me on Steam? We spoke about it before but I wanted to get approval again.

What speed does it do?

The J3A's Streamliners were designed by Henry Dreyfuss (streamlined shrouding with 5 having scullin disc 79" drive wheels and lightweight roller bearings [Timken]) and built by ALCO in the 1930s. Nicknamed "Dreyfuss Hudsons" Ten of these engines were built and pulled the luxorious, NYC flagship train, the 20th Century Limited between Grand Central in NYC (first 32 miles are electric to Harmon, NY) and LaSalle St station in Chicago through the Famous Water Level Route, one engine can produce 41k lb of tractive effort, easily handling an 17 car train (all Pullman lash-up with an baggage-RPO, 2 diners, 9 sleepers, and one observation car [one still exists from that train today after being used on the American Orient Express]) at 90mph. Ran the service until 1948 when diesels took over, ran on other passenger services until their retirement. Unfortunately, none today are preserved.

This is my favorite mod for Transport Fever. Period. I love this thing so much that I've gone into the files and made it do 125mph instead of 99mph, and I also doubled the power and tractive effort to make it even more viable late game. It's beautiful, sleek, and fast to begin with, but a little more couldn't hurt, right? Even now it's powerful, but I wouldn't quite classify it as "OP"... yet
NiceCozyHat Sep 8, 2019 @ 4:51am
This thing is the king of races. Beats every loco in my arsenal because SPEED IS KEY apparently.
Fant Azero  [author] Jul 7, 2019 @ 8:13am
@ravinbernstin no, but with Transport Fever 2 most likely I will "remove" the streamlined parts.
rav Jul 5, 2019 @ 11:41pm
is there a version where its not streamlined
themeatballhero Jun 23, 2019 @ 11:17am
haha alright fair enough! Just trying to see if I could use it as a reference for my black diamond.
Fant Azero  [author] Jun 23, 2019 @ 6:41am
I don*t know anything about valve gears, I built it the way I saw it on pictures...
themeatballhero Jun 22, 2019 @ 7:35am
is it baker, walschaerts, etc
Fant Azero  [author] Jun 21, 2019 @ 4:36am
@themeatballhero what exactly do you mean?
themeatballhero Jun 20, 2019 @ 11:59am
hey im not very good at identifying valve gears, which did you use for this?
Not_A_KGB_Agent Apr 6, 2019 @ 8:15pm
we need the other streamlined hudsons and then it will be perfect
Kevlar Mar 21, 2019 @ 5:25am
Thanks for putting this together, an awesome sight!
themeatballhero Feb 18, 2019 @ 8:49pm
Alright! I'll be happy to do that for you!
Fant Azero  [author] Feb 18, 2019 @ 2:20am
@themeatballhero Thank you! Sorry, I do not have time for modding right now. if you want to do that, please do!
themeatballhero Feb 17, 2019 @ 8:30am
Hey man, love this loco. Any chance we could get the Empire State Express? I can make it if you're not willing too.
CrashCast E Aug 9, 2018 @ 11:35am
You should add a end date to this locomotive... Maybe around 1950 or 1955?
50n10_M49R Jul 5, 2018 @ 4:36pm
@Fant. Wasn't this supposed to go 100 Studs/Second *MPH* (160 KPH)
Fant Azero  [author] Jul 5, 2018 @ 2:29pm
@Snek Bol There is no end date.
Natia Adano Jul 4, 2018 @ 5:23pm
In game description is in German. Also, is there supposed to be an end date?
Fant Azero  [author] Jun 9, 2018 @ 7:34pm
@Fem Sargon Maid You can change the color at locomotive menu -> details
50n10_M49R Jun 9, 2018 @ 7:06pm
@Fant. Can you make this blue like Connor from Thomas and Friends?
kristaleyez May 15, 2018 @ 9:35pm
One of the best mods in this game in terms of quality, power, speed and running costs :steamhappy:
9CF8 Apr 12, 2018 @ 7:12am
Speed?
Fant Azero  [author] Mar 12, 2018 @ 6:00am
Its visible to me still in 2020, I have just tested it with "no endyear". is your start year before 1934? The lckomotive does not have any endyear.
peniem Mar 12, 2018 @ 12:31am
Hi, why does this train suddenly dissapeear , although I use the mod "no endyear"
Probably Lime Mar 7, 2018 @ 11:09am
This looks like the sort of train I would ride if I lived in the 1930s conception of the year 2000.
boohoohaha Feb 24, 2018 @ 12:18pm
could you add the 20th century limited cars that fit with this engine? and then add the daylight express maybe even the unipon pacific m10000 streamlined diesel
Fant Azero  [author] Feb 22, 2018 @ 5:27pm
@Some random dude strange, the focus of the locomotive is right in the center...
Because of the texture, I could try some more metal and glossyness in combination
Archimiedes Feb 20, 2018 @ 7:11pm
Great looking model, but there are a few things you might want to fix about it. 1. its lacking textures, no offence but it kinda looks like its made of putty rather than steel. 2. for some reason the following camera is set off to the right a bit (when looking in the same direction that the train it going). Other than that this is a fun addition to the game, given its high speed and monstorous pulling power
boohoohaha Feb 12, 2018 @ 12:54pm
dude do the daylight express please
Comrade Borya Feb 3, 2018 @ 1:43pm
Great we need more North American steam locos!
haxorouse Feb 1, 2018 @ 1:52pm
now we just need the mercury, the commadore vandurbuilt, the daylight express, the coranation, the t-1 shark, the cincinnatian, and that one yellow one from the C&O that I cant remember the name of
Fant Azero  [author] Jan 28, 2018 @ 11:04am
@Alien 480 sorry, at the moment this is not planned
Fant Azero  [author] Jan 28, 2018 @ 11:02am
@ROCK BAG! Oh, that could be a relatively easy conversion. I will think about it.
Alien 480 Jan 28, 2018 @ 7:15am
the train cars going to be made too?
ROCK BAG! Jan 27, 2018 @ 9:24pm
Beautiful! I've been waiting for someone to make this! I would love to see Dreyfuss's other design as well https://www.american-rails.com/images/MERCASPOP.jpg
Laird Michael of Kincavel Jan 26, 2018 @ 6:09am
I have been checking the workshop ona regular basis waiting for some one to make this engine. THANK YOU!
Casey_Victoria Jan 23, 2018 @ 9:44am
Un-Standardized Heathen....
KUHOKU Jan 22, 2018 @ 9:38am
love these engines, now we just need proper streamliner cars to go with them.
Fant Azero  [author] Jan 21, 2018 @ 5:20pm
Thank you for your comments!
@tordenskjold soory, but my next project probably will be a train station
Clammyfever257 Jan 21, 2018 @ 9:51am
looks good!
RetroRads Jan 20, 2018 @ 10:09am
Love it!
Bezirksschornsteinfegermeister Jan 19, 2018 @ 9:56am
Amazing!
Dingbat Jan 19, 2018 @ 8:08am
Any American steam locomotive is much appreciated! This is a category in this workshop that is severely overlooked.
