I'd also like a confirmation for moving when it would reveal my soldier (breaking windows, for example)

Thank for the mod! Are you still maintaining it? I would like to suggest to add a friendly fire misclick confirmation. Just shot my own mind controlled soldier by mistake. :(

hi @lexo1000, sorry it took so long, but I've uploaded a new version which fixes the issue with localization. it also includes your French language file, thanks for that

hi @lexo1000 thanks for the comment. looks like I made a mistake and although there is a localization file for English the values in the popup are hardcoded when it's actually displayed.

sorry about that. I'll try to find time to fix it this week, but no promises. if you post the file I can include it too

Hi ! I created MisclickConfirm.fra to translate the window & put it in Localization folder but the text is still in english in-game. Do you know why ? thanks :)

I've just uploaded a new version which adds a couple more exceptions, so the pop up is only shown if you're moving a unit that can use cover (not a Spark) and only if there are ranged enemies visible. It should also now be compatible with Long War or any camera mods

@Gravemind I just tested it with a controller and it works but let me know if you have trouble with it.

Thanks @Garfield and @d_valroth for the suggestion, will try to implement that but from what I've seen of the input code it might be hairy

I also tested this with WOTC and it does not work, I had to edit a couple of lines, so I published that version as a separate mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1267323416

This work with controllers? I know modded windows sometimes straight up don't work with controller inputs.
Cathulhu Jan 11, 2018 @ 6:29pm
Also I'm fairly sure "misclick" is correct; even though it's not an actual word, the structure is like that of "mistrust" or "misnomer."
Cathulhu Jan 11, 2018 @ 6:28pm
Shift or ctrl click to suppress would be great, so it's more likely to be deliberate. I suffer from misclicks all the time so this mod is a godsend!
d_valroth Jan 11, 2018 @ 2:49pm
What about just having a key that you hold to suppress the popup? So you start a mission, you just hold shift or whatever while you're doing exploration moves, then once the combat starts you let go and the mod is active. I feel like having a toggle will eventually lead to the situation where you forget to toggle it on.

Sir Wagglepuss III: yeah I thought about this and will look into making it configurable (originally posted a comment about an ini edit but that doesn't make sense if you were in-mission and wanted to quickly toggle it)

dstaal and Commander Data: good points regarding Lost and melee only units, thanks!

Nitewolf: hm do you mean it should be "missclick" with two S's? when I was researching to see if anyone had created this mod already, I found most people talking about misclicks in XCOM spelling it with one S
Sir Wagglepuss III Jan 11, 2018 @ 3:43am
Would it be possible to create a check box ingame that turns the confirmation on or off, so the player can simply activate and deactivate it during gameplay at their discretion? Even if it were put into the options menu, that'd probably be good enough for most I imagine so they can go turn it off during lost missions or when they've decided it's time to make the entire squad haul ass home for 3 turns, etc.
dstaal Jan 10, 2018 @ 6:50pm
Another good exception would be 'if no enemy units are visible'. (Which could be expanded to: 'If no non-mele units are visible' - which would cover Lost, Cryssalid, Berserkers, etc. None of which cover is particularly useful against.) A common strategy I've seen is to bunch up units when exploring - it maximizes overwatches if an enemy unit stumbles into you on their turn.

In addition to making an exception for moves that end in the evac zone, can you make the prompt ignore lost missions that don't include alien/advent units?

Because on missions with just the lost you basically don't need cover and that would be annoying for every soldier for every movement.
Kotzwurst Jan 10, 2018 @ 9:38am
Thank you so much, that mod will help out a lot!
Nitewolf Jan 10, 2018 @ 6:31am
Great mod, spacemanaki! I endorse what Disappointment said, plus I have another suggestion: isn't missclick spelled wrong?
d09smeehan <MHN> Jan 10, 2018 @ 6:01am
Could do with those exceptions before I subscribe, but I'm definitely keeping an eye on this one. Hope you can follow through!
michiakig  [author] Jan 10, 2018 @ 5:51am
hey XX_DISAPPOINTMENT_XX that's a good point, I'll try to add an exception for move orders that end in the evac zone
Makiatto Jan 9, 2018 @ 11:47pm
I can see this becoming tedious once the need break cover to reach evac arises, about time a mode like this came out though.
Lux Manifestus Jan 9, 2018 @ 8:33pm
Good idea.
