I don't recommend this mod to anyone. If you open up a mimic, it forces you into the encounter with NO way to escape, And the Mimic gets 2 turns per round, none of his attacks proc riposte against him, and he stacks riposte. Overall it puts your people in a situation where it's incredibly unfair to fight due to unfair design choices. You can't counter the ripost by forcing a stun because it has over 100% Stun chance. You can't attack it or you're punished. If you let it attack you you can't riposte against it. Overall this is a 0/10 mod.

I found 1 issue with mimics it's small but kinda an issue.

So keys will show an icon at the bottom saying they can be used for a chest. They don't show for mimics.

I'm having that problem I saw most people are saying about the mod, the mimics don't fight back, they pass their two turns and just let me kill them.

Keep hearing people say that mimic's keep passing turns yet I never have this issue even right now im playing and just fought a mimic

Same problem. Mimic doesn't fight back. Just pass turn.

Another bug that I've never seen before: My quest to do all room battles was completed early because I killed a Mimic. There is 1 more room battle to do, which I scouted immediately after finishing off the Mimic. Maybe this is related to the Mimic Passing?

Working fine for me. What's the stun chance on the Mimic's riposte? Seems a bit high, but maybe that's because I'm pretty early in the game.

I have the same issue as Dynamic where the mimic will simply pass its turn allowing itself to be killed.

I've noticed that when fighting the mimic it just doesn't fight back. Everytime it's turn comes up it passes its turn. It does this when I have a full party, and I just dont understand why

Idea, maybe it can call bandits after X amount of rounds? or summon 1 bandit every 2 rounds or w/e? The mimic isn't a threat by itself, it does almost nothing, even if you've got no blight resistance, it's a mild inconvenience. Feels like it needs help. Or up the blight skill to be used more often, even an extra point per fight to use abilities.

Mimics' reposte can be annoying with the stun it has, you chance getting stunned each time you attack, even if you miss. Missing is hard, the dodge isn't high on this boss, neither is the HP. I often wish I could find a mimic cuz it's easy loot, just takes a while to actually kill him. If you've got anti-blight or high blight resistance, this fight is free loot.

There are only 2 problems with this mod. 1- the sprites in general are good with the excepetion of the oozing slimy attack; and 2- Lack of attacks make this enemy really easy he has only one dangerous attack which is the blight one. Otherwise great idea for a mod and I hope you can improve more this mod

Great mode! Is it possible to change key item hint to "gold" when interacting with mimic? Because right now if you have key in your inventory while interacting with mimic, key will have no hint, instantly revealing to you that you in fact interact with mimic.

i cannot retreat from mimic battles. is this a feature or a bug? opened the wrong chest at 0 light, with only 2 heroes left, both at death door, both blighted. had to cheat in and disable the mod and open the save file again. it felt unfair that you can run away from tentaclish eldritch horror made out of the nightmares of the stars but not from a weird chest with a long tongue.

I really like this mod (currently only on apprentice). However I feel like mimics appear way too often. It feels like about a third of heirloom chests are traps which really takes out the surprise because it's so expected.
Having a mimic appear only let's say 10% of the time would be way more exciting instead of annoying. Also they should be limited to a maximum of one per dungeon. I've had 2 in a medium apprentice dungeon and it feels impossible to beat without really good gear and heroes.

@Bunny holy crap thats a good idea this thing make me lose my hero to a lvl 1 short dungeon.....
i'll be cool if you can guess it with some hints so after using the holy water and destroying the mimic your party also stress heal

personally i think 12 damage for 3 rounds on Champion is a tad much, dealing 36 damage is... intense

This mod would have been really cool if you added a string for interactables with Holy Water where if you holy water a normal chest it destroys all heirlooms inside (because you just poored water all over your familys treasures you supersitsous git) , but if you guessed right it would start the Mimic fight with it suprised (instead of it suprising your party) and youd gain extra loot when you kill it. Would add a risk reward factor to the "Is it a mimic" gimick

You can set the curio tracker to mimic a normal chest so as not to give it away as a mimic, but this is conditional on the player having tried the same supply items on it, since they're tracked separately. A very clever player would be able to simply use a weird supply item on it like Laudanum or Herbs and notice the difference between the two trackers to tell them apart.

Cool mod! Really like the music, but it seems like it plays over the standard music? IE two tracks play at the same time.

Another thing is that the music continues to play after defeating it. It doesn't even stop when the quest is done and you return to the hamlet. The only way to stop it is to quit the game or return to main menu.

I think the curio hint is a rather nice, accidental feature to have.
If you pay attention to it, you can avoid or plan for the fight. Kind of similar how people deal with mimics in Dark Souls: gotta be careful around chests, and don't open them out of habit.

So just did another round of cleaning/consolidating with the localization files and added the Russian translations from Wave's version. Hopefully the mod is in a good state for everyone.

As for the curio hints: I know they are an issue and will look into it. This mod was created long before hints were a thing and I'm not entirely sure how much I can change them. But we'll see!

Is it possible to add in extra features in the state the mod is in?
I would very much like a way to harm the mimics before the fight should the player be observant enough spot them.
As of now, the only way to counter the mimic is to just swap up your party and hope that everyone will be "surprised" into ideal formation. Maybe another use of items will then not trigger the "surprise" effect, or cause pre-fight damage in some way.
Regardless, I enjoy this mod very much. It puts an interesting dynamic into the dungeon grind.

We can see the difference between a true chest and the mimic with the skeleton key who doesn't comport the little gold icon who say "more reward" if you know what i mean =x

And i don't see any difference in the sprite with the mimic, is there really a difference ? x)

Yup, the current version of my upload has the most recent version of the localization file I was able to put together. I think it has all the appropriate lines, I did some tweaks for non-English languages and one person was generous enough to put together Russian translations for the whole mod.
