Does this still work? I'm well into a campaign where Huns still won't die
Sheph Apr 29, 2020 @ 6:40pm
You forgot to mention that this will override the scripting.lua from other great mods such as ranks and bonds, maga and the supply mod. Almost all the overhauls have their own scripting.lua. It would be better for all of us to eviscerate the att_preservation script than to include a scripting.lua. If you can figure that out, I can thumbs up. I suggest you alter the timetable in attpreservationdata. It'll be easier for new modders.
Go to my AI mod if you want to see more of the Huns: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1526012774
Sheph Mar 29, 2020 @ 11:00pm
That's all the fun. My mod here makes them more dangerous. Even "preservation" only gives them 20 or so hordes, which don't get very strong.
Politruk Aug 27, 2018 @ 9:59am
doesnt work, after 400 AD new hordes r spawning
Toasty Apr 13, 2018 @ 3:46pm
It isn't working , any help ?
Wappenquaul Apr 5, 2018 @ 1:27pm
Is there a mod that does the same as this (stop infinite spawning of Huns) while still allowing the game to respawn the Huns with Attila in 420 if the Huns have been destroyed before then?
Shizzmig ジ #machkeinparamtaram Feb 1, 2018 @ 4:59am
does this work when i play coop with my friend?
Ofc if we both have downloaded it, because we had a mod in simillar fashion but after a few rounds the game crashed and the savefile was corrupted.

It's not working for me mid game. Attila hasn't even come to power yet and I'm getting 3 doom stacks right outside my borders every time I destroy one..
Politruk Jan 2, 2018 @ 5:33pm
does this somehow break spawning of attilas army once he comes to power, or spawning of event hunnic hordes for venedians?
Carolus Dec 30, 2017 @ 10:51am
Thanks, now I can continue my WRE crusade against the huns
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 25, 2017 @ 6:16am
Ok, I see. Thanks, Pajero
Ole! Dec 24, 2017 @ 9:07pm
For your comment Fingolfin36, you get the harsh, unjust and then finally torturer trait for doing any other option besides release prisoners post battle for any of your generals. You get the nice trait instead if you release captives. Also, there's a chance you'll get it if you tax a recently conquered product that has public order in the red, or your leader camps in a town or city that has really low public order.
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 22, 2017 @ 8:48am
Not really
Järnkaninen Dec 22, 2017 @ 6:12am
So this mod makes it so there is no huns or any kind of barbarics people that rapes you when you play rome or what?
Fingolfin36 Dec 22, 2017 @ 5:19am
One more thing: 6 days ago you were asking about other mods you could make. Could you fix it, that EVERY faction leader becomes sooner or later harsh, unjust or a torturer? I am tired of assassinating my faction leaders again and again, in order to save the public order. I liked Arcadius, Honorius, Belisarius and all the other modded ones; Justinian, Majorian, Herakleios... I do not want to kill them, but I want to skill them.
Fingolfin36 Dec 22, 2017 @ 3:18am
Amazing! I waited so long for this. Now the Huns don´t destroy every region from Germany to Kazakhstan anymore, and now more than 10 factions will have survived at 430 AD. It was very hard to get the 15 trade agreements (victory condition for Eastern Rome). Now it´s possible. It was also so boring to be a Western Roman without any threatening German neighbours. This giant Desert in the vanilla game was the actual unhistorical event. Now I can also play with the Ostrogoths, actually my favourite barbarian tribe, without being threatened by an immortal enemy who doesn´t want peace. Besides now it has a sense for a Western Roman to attack the plundering Huns at Sirmium and in northern Italy. Thanks a lot!
Yarthefish Dec 22, 2017 @ 12:06am
Removes great challendge for some nations and disbalance the game. Its your choice, but i prefer surviving in the vanilla game.
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 21, 2017 @ 1:43pm
In the base game
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 21, 2017 @ 1:03pm
And the huns certainly were not like they were portrayed in the game
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 21, 2017 @ 1:03pm
Chill, its just that everyone asks for this mod
JustOneNoob Dec 21, 2017 @ 10:02am
kills part of gameplay and game mechanics and absolutely not historical - it's just a cheat
Piethoane Dec 21, 2017 @ 2:41am
Good
Fíníst Dec 20, 2017 @ 8:22pm
What for? This kills the whole basis of the game
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 20, 2017 @ 12:34pm
@Bruno Magno No. The mod only prevents new hordes from spawning. All the remaining hordes are still ever present and as deadly as usual
Bruno Magno Dec 20, 2017 @ 8:49am
This MOD afects the earlier Hun's armies present in the game before Attila becaming king?

I am in the middle of a campaign with the Slavs and Hunic armies of almost the same composision keep apearing few turns after i defeat a Hunic army.
huntersw2 Dec 20, 2017 @ 6:14am
Hey, is it possible to make factions spawn in desolated regions? and make the huns spawn a little bit less than what they normally do?
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 19, 2017 @ 3:37pm
@Mr. Ti Ah, I see. Just play defensive if war ever comes with the huns
Talha KARSLIOĞLU Dec 19, 2017 @ 1:38pm
@biofanatthegreat i am not ally with huns i just have a good relationship because i destroyed WRE and fight with his enemies now i just sitting and powering my army except some little moves

Arhandir Dec 19, 2017 @ 1:09pm
Finally <3 Thank you so much
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 18, 2017 @ 3:06pm
The huns are a useful ally. With the script, they can do most of the dirty work for u. Just watch out for backstabbing.
Darrius Thorne Dec 18, 2017 @ 3:05pm
@biofanatthegreat No, I never side with the Huns, I usually just try to avoid war as long as possible while they destroy or weaken everyone else, then when the time comes, I crush them and everybody else.
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 18, 2017 @ 3:03pm
so u would probably want to side with him if he attacks ur neighbors. Just fortify ur borders!
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 18, 2017 @ 3:02pm
@Mr. Ti Lol. In the late game, Attila always prevails because of the script
Ruthless Dec 18, 2017 @ 12:19pm
korkkkmaaa laaan
Darrius Thorne Dec 18, 2017 @ 11:05am
It is very annoying when the Huns just respawn with about 4 more stacks after one is defeated. In one of my campaigns as the Venedians, I had to defeat Attila SIX times before he finally died. And that was a long span of gameplay because he never came at my cities directly, he always stayed behind so I had to fight like 3 stacks at a time. It was very annoying. And he can't die from assassinations either. The Huns are stupidly overpowered, but you can get lucky where the AI plays like trash. Ironically, in my campaign as the WRE, the Huns never even attacked me once before I reached the victory screen.
Talha KARSLIOĞLU Dec 18, 2017 @ 10:58am
i am actually in the year of 430 and i have really good relationship with huns and with my neighbors and i have alliance with them so attila wont attack them i hope
Nightshade878 Dec 18, 2017 @ 8:38am
Love it. Thanks for making it! Got fed up with the infinite Huns bs ages ago. I actually quit out of a Sclavenian campaign once, not because the Huns were kicking my ass (quite the opposite because Poison), but they just kept coming back with full stacks and it got annoying. Really annoying.
replay028 Dec 17, 2017 @ 5:26pm
AGK mod removes this as well, I supposed, It decreases the number of hordes and you can kill Attila. It is also compatible with Eastern realms. Maybe the modder used the same tips as you did ? Anyway thanks for continuing moding for Attila^^
HuntKiller117 Dec 17, 2017 @ 12:55pm
lol I like to play as the venedians with 0 base income. As in: the spawn point of the hordes, on the verge of war with all your neighbors, crap/over priced starting units, with a starting income of -1300, with only two settlement structures and 2 basic tier 1 farmsteads as your source of income, the starting religion is highly contested so your happiness is going into the negatives without military presence. Dont get me wrong, I can still fend off 3 doom stacks with the garrison poison archers, but the death trait for even a 1 sole survivor horse archer stack is basically the end of me.
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 17, 2017 @ 12:32pm
Lol. I made this mod so the game would be easier on beginners. Trust me, I know how frustrating it can be to be attacked by horde after horde; in my first Sassanid playthrough, six (6!!!) hunnic hordes went through the caucausus and assaulted persia. That freeked me out but then I got peace with them and they destroyed the hephtalites, not at the cost of all but one of my puppet states (Makran), which betrayed me later. The script is overpowered for people who don't know what its like
HuntKiller117 Dec 17, 2017 @ 9:24am
Idk why anyone hasn't thought of this before, nice job my guy. :2016trophy: To anyone who complains that this is a "cheat" mod, I would say that the mechanics for Huns, and for the Barbarian factions are pretty contrived considering it doesnt give you a good enough reason for them being and/or are just irreplicable by the player which creates a "logic hole" if you will. I would be completely ok with a super over powered Hun faction, as long as it's at least achievable in game without it being meta or just not making any sense at all, that just makes a game that hasn't had enough effort put into it to make it work naturally. With that being said, even if its a cheat mod, theres no need to shame people for wanting to experience a game the way they want to, even if you don't like it. :steamsalty:
Iolaus Dec 17, 2017 @ 12:16am
It's good to have options, it's a nice mod thanks for making it... and yes that would be interesting if you could make a mod where Attila spawns with multiple stacks... reminiscent of the Mongol armies in Medieval Total War lol
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 16, 2017 @ 5:19pm
Ok, its just that this has been a repeatedly requested feature in attila. If you wish me to make a harder version, I can do so
Iolaus Dec 16, 2017 @ 2:57pm
This mod is either for cheaters or people who don't know how to play the game, if anything the Hunnic script is underpowered.... I'm not an expert myself but I just finished a Very Hard campaign where I literally killed Attila after 2 tries within a matter of a few turns. All the dumbass did was besiege 2 different cities which both had a full stack of defenders. I was looking forward to a showdown, where Attila was bringing multiple stacks with him, but even all the other stacks that spawned randomly prior to Atilla coming, I picked off with ease. If anything the Hunnic script is underpowered
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 16, 2017 @ 1:31pm
I'm working on a more balanced version of this mod right now. I'm going to make the script spawn less armies, smaller armies, and more expensive armies (The "war fervour" no upkeep effect will be disabled) Furthermore, Attila only has to be killed once before mortal
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 16, 2017 @ 1:29pm
Yeah, Attila takes a long time to kill. I'm pretty sure it's defeat in battle 3 times
Ciscoloco86 Dec 16, 2017 @ 1:27pm
@Colonial Commander Oh sweet! That's good to hear. The way I (mis)understood it was that he couldn't be killed and was a constant threat once he gets into power. Thanks for the clarification. I'll still try bio's mod, but now I'll wait until I kill him the normal way first.
@biofanatthegreat thanks for the quick reply!
Tomato Juice Dec 16, 2017 @ 1:21pm
yup, doesnt make hun overpowered faction of god, doesnt make **** of god too.
biofanatthegreat  [author] Dec 16, 2017 @ 1:17pm
So is the idea in the last message ok? I'm in the process of making it
