OMG i love this mod, I have been breeding wolves and I finally "made" THE PERFECT ONE THEN WAS HAVING FUN WITH HIM AND HE DIED OF fall damage, 100,000 HEALTH AND FALL DAMAGE? BUT NOW i AM VERY HAPPY i CAN HAVE FUN WITHOUT WORRIES

Totally fair. This is such a unique mod in the space that it's difficult to replace its intent. When you get the time I'll definitely be down for a donation try to lessen the strain. :)

I'll look into it when I have time. Unfortunately right now i'm overly tied up with work related items and don't have alot of time to spend with modifications. but i'll do my best over the next few weeks.

What would it take for a level 3 mode to be added? The hotkey still works, but only as level 0. Level 1 doesn't work anymore.

Now that abberation assets have been added to the devkit, do you think you can switch the activate key back to spacebar? And mode 1 is also functioning as mode 0.

guys, I'm sorry to say this but I'm really not liking the work around as it is for this mod. The next version, I'm going to be disabling the "open crafting" window key (V by default) and placing the parachute on that. The craftable window is still accessable via Inventory and clicking on it. this path is the less of all evils, untill they add the glider to the devkit which I'll revamp the whole process at that time. hope you guys all understand where I'm coming from on this.

@crazyaussie21 :: that's the end goal, but can't do any detection etc of the windsuit, till the windsuit is added to the devkit, which it's not yet.

Would it be entirely possible to change it from using the F key, to change it from instead buggin' out the wingsuit, to just disable the parachute while a wingsuit is equipped. For example, if a wingsuit is equipped, temporarily disable activation function for the parachute?

hey guys, so ran across a issue with the new F key. causes the Dino Parachutes to not function any longer. didn't think about that for the F or the E. wouldn't want to use C (crouch) beause some dinos have a special attack. any other key you guys can think of that aren't used normally while on dino or walking we could use?

@Protocol Omega :: sorry about that, that was overlooked on my part. that's what I get for working on multiple mods at the same time :( .. update coming in a few mins, waiting for it to finish cooking.

"F key" is in conflict with ARK 's "Open inventory".

what about the crouch key as that wont be used in the air/falling do it as a hold to active tho 0.5 secs delay

plan on an update this evening after I get out of work. it won't be F per say, it will be tied to the"access others inventory" which happen to be F, which should be a key on the controller, so it address both worlds ;)

I cant see a problem with using E or F neither. If players use controllers, they either have a steam controller wich they can remap, or else it is really their own mistake to play PC on a controller, you shouldnt make it a problem in your development i wouldnt say. :)

@blacknoise :: hmm, I see what you mean, well, that was a first pass at trying to address something that we don't have in the devkit yet ;)

I might just take the idea that SirTrampel stated of using E (but as an action. .meaning whatever is assigned to the "USE" or "Access Other's Inventory" meaning E or F by default. can you think of anything that those 2 keys would be used for while falling that you need to keep as is or would either of those work?

@Temil2006: We can glide without the parachute now.. but cant parachute without the glider. x3
Pressing jump activates Glider, without para. Holding jump for half a sec, activates both.

@SirTrampe! :: thanks for the feedback, but not going to make it E or F, that removes support for players with controllers. want to make sure I keep support for both PC and Controller players alike.

that being said, next version on it's way as a test. new detection method added, EVERYONE please make sure you aware aware of these (will update notes in mod description)

next version will..
1. add a half a sec delay to check if currently flying/ gliding and if you are, it will not deploy. this should address the deploy with glider issue.
2. require for jump to be held for that half a sec for it to deploy. This should address when you put away the glider, parachute will not auto deploy as it detect you are now falling. requires jump to be held for half a sec before deploying.

let me know what you guys think.

I love the current parachute on space function, didnt realize it was conficting neither. But would it not fix it to just make it so if you are in air and press E the parachute will come on and E will eject it again ? As far as i can think of E in mid air has no real use. :)

@blacknoise :: didn't realize that was the same activation for the glider. instead of an added key activator. currently this mod checks when the space bar is pressed, instead i'm thinking i change it to detect / activate when it's released and wait for 1 sec after released to detect/check if you are gliding. thoughts on this?

unfortinatly I can't test this because we don't have gliders in the devkit, so want your guys feedback on any issues this method might cause.

Could I make a request, pls? Since the glider in Aberration uses the same press-jump-in-air technic like your parachute.. i would really really recommend a setting option for the activation key. Have a nice day and again, great work!

hide what for admin tools? not sure what you are referring to... are you asking if I can add a feature to only allow server admins to have the benifits if what this mod offers, or something else?


and it's as server ready as can be. running in on 2 servers myself. still some enhancements to come and minor tweaks, but it's ready for the most part. no major bugs or anything.

Got it working! I'm not sure if the problem came from the last ARK update or the last Windows update. The only way I could fix the problem was by both tweaking ARK settings and adjusting process priority in Windows. (Believe it or not I had to turn resolution scale UP to full. You'd have thought that would make it worse.)

hhmm, I don't think the extra option would make a difference really. the old toggle-able option via the item , what it was doing was basicly disabling/enabling the hook over the jump feature. the new version is almost active , which means it's always hooked to Jump, the only difference is that when you change the mode, it would act differently. the hook to jump is still active. not really sure what else to say or do except for adding in an option to disable/enable the feature, but had issues with that as well with not stating active after restart, which is why I changed it. just curious did you try any other recording programs?

The problem is only in the recording, not the game, and it's any time the parachute is active (available for use).
Before your update, when you had to put the parachute in your inventory and consume it, my frame rate (in the recording) would drop after consuming it. If I consumed it again (and the parachute symbol in the bottom right disappeared) my frame rate went back to normal. Now the frame rate is bad all the time.
I don't think it's anything your mod is doing wrong - I think that extra resource requirement is just enough to mess up the recording software. The game plays just fine. I don't see the problem until after I've finished and review the recording.
So, basically I was asking if using the ini option would make it work like it did before. That way we could keep the mod and I'd just disable the parachute before recording.
