I can't. I have a strict policy about respecting the author's wishes. The mods I continue aren't MY mods; I am a custodian, a caretaker. I do this for fun, not money, but I respect the rights of the author first and foremost. It's an incredible shame this amazing mod won't continue on, but anyone with the desire to update it to a modern version can do so and use it privately, there's nothing that can stop that, short of the author removing it from Steam, and even then, you'd be amazed how many other copies of mods still exist out there.

Anyway, hello WalkingProblem, consider this my regular request to continue this mod.

Yeah a light version 1.3 could be useful for a start. I want to add as many possible races as well

Would it be at all possible to rework this into a playable ape race for 1.3? I'm looking around for as many animal-man races as possible to add to my game.

@ProfZelonka - You dont need to hope if you are willing to support it via patreon. Otherwise, yeah, just have to wait indefinitely until it is the POTA's turn in the queue to get updated.

So... we shouldn't hope for any mod updates for a few years if even then got it..

So with the launch of the smurf mod, I gonna divert my resources and time on other stuffs and my professional work until funding raising targets are met.

My aim is 1000 subscribers, so that my content will allow me to earn advertising dollars - which in term will allow me to spend more time on modding.This is actually the best thing to help me help you get more of my mods updated and created!

Just for context, when I mod, I work full time - 8 hours to 12 hours a day for a few days - some game mechanics are so difficult to get it to work, I can work 1-2 weeks on it - spending upwards of 60 hours a week

This is why modding is not sustainable. its a full time job essentially if I really want to get things done (I am almost near full time for a full month updating all the mods so far to 1.3)

@riiswa - Nope. The main reason is because the development of this mod will be tied slowly to the development of the Alien Humanoid Framework Pregnancy Addon mod.

When the game turned B19, I was actually working on the B18 mod which adds inter-species babies creating hybrid.

So when a human and an ape have a baby, they actually will give birth to the classic planet of the apes version of the Apes which they can wear clothes and walk just like a normal human. Like a human but with enhanced apes attributes (it was working actually)

The babies will also inherit the talents of their parents.

But B19 was so different, everything broke - thus this 2 mods are always at the end of the queue in term of mod update - because the amount of work and time required would be intense.

Are you recruiting modders to update this mod?

@42brosefs - exactly. there is 50k other mods and you are here badgering me for a B18 mod to be updated despite I set clear conditions on when it will be updated ahead of time or it will be updated only when I feel like it.

Thats how modding is. No one owes anyone anything.

@jon - are you using this on Rimworld1.3 - it wont work; because its not updated for it yet.

The pink square is because the standardised filename were changed in i think B19? Thus the way we name the graphics files no longer work.

So he can't update the mod...which everyone could use and enjoy, but rather you want us to either pay you or wait for you to decide when to do it....Gotcha..I'll go see about someone else making a POTA mod lol sad.

Might be worth making Babies & Children the pregnancy mod... a lot of us don't use RJW.

@Vexacuz - we shall see. Because the pregnancy mod is meant to allow inter-species breeding - to create new form of races...

However, rimworld updated and then I had no time to work on the updates - given the amount of changes there was between B18 and B19.

I have a few major mods that takes up a lot of time to update and code.

POTA will be the last on the queue unless there is huge number of people becoming my patron to support the POTA's priority development.

Good to know that you are not dead, and is still updating your mods. Take your time, i am sure you will make it work again. Btw, i belive it would be better if you took it off the dependance of the pregnacy mod. RJW compat mod is aways compulsivelly updating and is bound to include your race almost as soon as it is up to date, making the pregnacy mod redundant.

@Shadi - because I dont abandoned my mods. I just no time to work on them - because I dont have enough patrons on patreon to throw my professional work aside to work part time or full time on modding~

@ScarySan - Yeap. Because Alien Framework had changed quite a bit since - thus updating this mod is especially troublesome - which is why in term of priorities, its all the way at the back of the queue among all my mods that requires update.

Thus it is the only mod that is still stuck in B18~

It's too bad WalkingProblem doesn't share their code on GitHub, so that others can fix abandoned work.
