to be honest, I modified the local files of the mod to add it myself, the update having removed this modification, I allow myself to suggest to include it in the mod. by the way, thank you for keeping it up to date! I hold my breath as soon as I have a raid of the bluemoon

You can always burn their stuff but I get your point. I'll see what I can do.
Wololo Jul 31, 2021 @ 3:07am
because after a raid of the bluemoon, I become too rich (if I survive)
Albion  [author] Jul 30, 2021 @ 7:53am
Why specifically?
Wololo Jul 30, 2021 @ 6:33am
Please, give them a death acidifer!
Azzil Nov 10, 2020 @ 2:20pm
alright thank you!
Albion  [author] Nov 9, 2020 @ 6:33am
Yes this is correct. Please check out the sparkling worlds CE compatibility patch by vintage fruitcake. It is technically done for the full mod but it might also work for the standalone addons.
Azzil Nov 9, 2020 @ 6:20am
i am unsure if this is happening to anyone else but I only have Fluffys mod loader, CE, Modular core, Blue Moon corps. and when they come in for raids they never have ammo. earlier i thought it was just a mod mismatch since I have 200+ mods going but with just these the issue still persist. is there a combability issue with CE? I don't remember it having issues.

update?
Albion  [author] Oct 2, 2019 @ 10:59am
I never used Faction discovery myself but maybe it has a feature to change the amount of bases per faction.
UpTheArts Oct 2, 2019 @ 10:23am
Yes! I'll check it out. Perhaps I can fiddle the base number down to 1?

Mass Effect also has a Blue Suns mercenary company, likely a homage to Firefly.
Albion  [author] Oct 2, 2019 @ 10:15am
You should check out the BMC Hardcore patch. It makes the faction much more dangerous and changes them to be always hostile. They'll still have bases though.
Having a random name sounds interesting but is not super easy to do properly. Also there is a reason for the name: it's a homage to the shadowy corporation Blue Sun from the Firefly universe.
UpTheArts Oct 2, 2019 @ 9:51am
Separately, instead of the fixed BMC name, perhaps you can make them spawn each time with a different name? For the same reasons, I think it would fit the lore better.

Thank you!
UpTheArts Oct 2, 2019 @ 9:51am
I'm a big fan of your work. I think content mods should fit lore and be well-balanced, like yours.

I humbly suggest an alternate version where the Blue Moon Corp is an always hostile faction without visible bases, like Insects and Mechanoids.

I think that fits the lore better. It's conceivable for a megacorporation like this to exist in the RimWorld universe, as you say. But they should not have bases on every rimworld the player happens to land in - that would make the BMC roughly 20% of all humanity in the rim!

It would also be more fun and realistic. Currently, BMC can be neutral/allied towards other factions and the player. That makes them seem like almost just a better-equipped Outlanders faction, which is less unique and fun IMHO. Given what they are, I imagine the BMC would look down on other rim factions as beneath them, and not worthy of dealings with.

Thank you!
Albion  [author] Aug 16, 2019 @ 6:59am
Yes exactly. You need to start a new playthrough or use mods like faction discovery to activate the faction though.
Blue Moon is able to use all advanced industrial weapons and spacer weapons available. However not all mods use these tags so not all weapons will be available to the faction.
Lyseria Aug 16, 2019 @ 4:08am
Just for clarity: this doesn't add any new items right? Just a faction that uses whatever spacer tech the current save has? If yes, this is exactly what I've been looking for.
The Nut Champ Aug 5, 2019 @ 8:22am
would be nice if they come in with something blue on them that reeks that they serve the capitalist blue moon corp, like a collar or a badge or something.

@Headshotkill the idea of a neural implant that explodes after an enemy is downed is amazing. You'd have to quickly remove it surgically before it detonates if you want to recruit someone and you'd need research to unlock that. Lots of potential here !
Albion  [author] Jun 13, 2019 @ 1:54am
That would be a fun addition. Unfortunately I don't have the time to implement such a feature.
Anyway, enjoy the mod. I highly recommend getting the full mod for the full experience or at least the events Addon.
Headshotkill Jun 13, 2019 @ 1:29am
I came up with a suggestion in line with their lore and to differentiate them more from pirates.

What if every soldier of blue moon corp got a neural implant that:

-lowers pain
-increases mood
-increases shooting
-increases melee
-ETERNAL OBEDIENCE TO BLUE MOON CORP

And when a soldier gets downed the implant will self-destruct after a couple hours and blow up the head entirely.
Albion  [author] Jun 13, 2019 @ 1:00am
Honestly... I made that description up on the spot.
Again: you can make them what you want them to be.
They have some kind of corporate structure that dissolves a little on Rimworlds due to long communication delays and the dangers on the Rim. Some of them are not better than common pirates. Payment might get delayed after all and what is your money worth anyway when there are manhunting wargs or savage tribals charging at you.
If you have the hardcore patch, they are definitely more sinister and try to take over the planet and wipe out any competitor by any means necessary or at least take their stuff.
Headshotkill Jun 13, 2019 @ 12:47am
Ah cool, I personally saw them as expensive mercenaries for ultra rich capitalists on glitter-/urbworlds, who want to collect rare items from the far reaches of the galaxy. Nothing personal, just business.
Albion  [author] Jun 13, 2019 @ 12:44am
It is what you want it to be.
The origins of the Blue Moon Corporation is lost to time. All original founders are long dead. In fact the location of its headquarters is unknown if there even is one left. The corporation kind of goes on in search of profit and more people and resources to exploit.
The Corp has subsidiaries on various planets and finances expeditions to Rimworlds to establish a foothold. It then starts to extract resources to be shipped off to other worlds and start to develop a larger population to be on the ground floor when the Rimworld eventually develops on its way to become a Glitterworld.
Headshotkill Jun 13, 2019 @ 12:33am
So what's the background story of these guys?
Albion  [author] Mar 5, 2019 @ 7:54am
There is no conflict with Glittertech they both work fine.
Cypher Mar 5, 2019 @ 5:18am
how does this work with gliter tech
Albion  [author] Oct 17, 2018 @ 10:47am

Hey guys. It took me a little longer than I planned but I just released a Hardcore Patch for the Blue Moon Corp. You can subscribe to it here: Link to BMC Hardcore Extension
You'll need either this mod or the Sparkling Worlds Full mod.
Albion  [author] Feb 15, 2018 @ 3:27pm
The version I'm planning to release will require this mod or the Sparkling Worlds Full mod since it'll only change the values of it, not re-implement them. You can therefore just use it as you want and turn hardcore mode off and on my using the hardcore extension or not.
Albion  [author] Feb 15, 2018 @ 2:43pm
Creating an advanced siege might be difficult because it requires C# coding. It's definitely possible and I'll keep the idea in mind but I'm rather busy at the moment and won't have time for this level of coding.
The Blue Moon Corporation has a chance to raid of about 0.2X can't remember the exact value right now. All vanilla faction have a chance of 1.0 so it's somewhat rare that the BMC actually raids you in vanilla. Part of the patch will be an increase of this value to something like 1.0 or even 2. What do you think about that?
Also don't worry bearhiderug. I'll keep the mod the way it is and release the hardcore edition as a separate mod that patches this one.
Sir Luis Feb 15, 2018 @ 2:31pm
just call that mod hardcore addon
Sir Luis Feb 15, 2018 @ 2:31pm
so kool ty
Albion  [author] Feb 15, 2018 @ 2:29pm
If you want to I can release a seperate mod that patches Blue Moon Corp to be even more deadly with even better gear and more soldiers per raid. Stay tuned. I'll hammer the mod together in a few days.
Sir Luis Feb 15, 2018 @ 1:04pm

Thank you for dividing them from core mode. I love these guys, but not in every game.
Albion  [author] Nov 14, 2017 @ 3:53am
For legal reasons I should state that the Blue Moon Corporation is in no way affiliated with the Blue Sun Corp from the Firefly universe but you have a keen eye danlovejoy ;)
Primal_DLove Nov 14, 2017 @ 1:01am
Blue moon?, that anything like blue sun?
Cosinejoe Nov 10, 2017 @ 6:54pm
