Simple, yet elegant. One of the few mods out there which actually punishes infinite city spam.

Sadly the AI seems not to be able to manage its finances and half of them are always bankrupt.

Interesting mod, does it still work after latest patch?

@Mk Z
you can do it yourself, just open the lua file and find the number 3,and change it to 0.

@pauloel7, net -5 would be too small, but maybe 1st city cost 1 gold, second 2 etc?

Interesting the idea of offsetting some of the production cost saved from constant settler cost. However, to that end, this mod exponentially increase gold cost, to the point that you could build settlers alright, but simply cannot afford to settle anymore, and that is way too soon, with just a few cities! Gotta swap this exponential cost increase to a linear one, something like a NET -5 per city on the empire budget, rather than city's.

Yah interesting mod. But can AI like Rome work with this so they don't end up with -70 gold per turn all the time?

You may want to adjust your mod description because without your Nov. 8 comment I would have concluded what Choco Bunny thought

Works with R&F?

Yes.

Are the AI Player also getting this disadvantage?

With 4 cities, each city has -1 gpt (+3 and -4), so you have -4 gpt total. Total values for the first few cities:
-> 1 City: +2 (+2 per city)
-> 2 Cities: +2 (+1 per city)
-> 3 Cities: 0 (0 per city)
-> 4 Cities: -4 (-1 per city)
-> 5 Cities: -10 (-2 per city)
-> 6 Cities: -18 (-3 per city)
-> 7 Cities: -28 (-4 per city)
-> 8 Cities: -40 (-5 per city)
-> 9 Cities: -54 (-6 per city)
-> 10 Cities: -70 (-7 per city)
...And so on.

so if I have 4 cities is that -4 per city or total output, and does that mean I ll have +12 per turn total?
