This mod I think is broken, I haven't seen a turret since I started the campaign and I'm pretty sure the first secret lab has turrets but there were none.

if the turret is destroyed by blowing up the floor under it, it continues to grant cover without the fix.
[WOTC] Core Collection Meta Mod is the fix

I'm also not getting the cover from a dead turret and I don't have any idea why. Currently got LWOTC loaded and AML doesn't report anything of note with this mod...

Weird. This mod used to work perfectly for me, and then it stopped! Turrets no longer provide cover.

My log still says "Adding ConstantHighCover to AdvTurret.." for the correct type of turret, though. What the heck?

Of my installed mods, the only one I could find that affects turrets (other than their AI, I do use Advent Avenger's mods but those shouldn't conflict I think) is Iridar's [WOTC] Core Collection Meta Mod , which applies a fix to this mod. I commented out that fix but it had no effect. I also tried deleting the user config folder. No luck.

It's a shame. Unless anyone can think of other troubleshooting steps I guess I'll try Advent Avenger's bulwark mod or something.

kinda funny, if you pair this with Peek From Concealment you can run up to the turret and "hide" from them. I kinda like that.

Not sure if this was an oversight, but the turrets on top of convoy trains seem to have full cover for the front and back, but zero cover for the sides with this mod. Kind of odd.

Mod works excellently. An obvious inclusion in any mod list to fix up something that should have been present in the base game.

Yesterday I destroyed a turret on a rooftop by detonating a claymore beside it. It disappeared as expected/insta-killed from falling, but an enemy was able to stand on the tile beside where the turret would have been (at the edge of the hole in the roof) and was able to benefit from the full cover the turret /would have/ provided if it were still there, while appearing to be fully exposed. Just noting this here in case it's not widely known/not commonly encountered.

I've encountered destroyed walls like that since before I even made this mod.

As for adding it to other enemies, it only makes them count as cover while alive AND dead, and it only adds it to enemy types listed in the config, which by default is just the turrets.

I seem to be having issues where other enemy corpses (like andromedons for example) and destroyed walls (as in completly destroyed, not there anymore) are giving cover

Targets standig right next to the turret having "cover" against the turret can probably be justified by imagining that the turret - which does not have the same range of motion as, say, a human (even one with his/her feet glued to the floor) - might have trouble tracking fast enough or depressing low enough to effectively engage targets at that range.

@Valkynaz That's odd but doesn't show up when I test it. I didn't touch any of Firaxis' code for generating cover, my mod just applies to turrets.

Not sure if it's a compatability issue or what have you, but for some reason the turrets only provide cover on two sides, not four, and they can either a. spawn floating inthe air and provide no cover when they die (Since they vanish), or b. sometimes when they die they'll noclip through the floor yet still grant the bonus (And sometimes they die normally :v)
