I just want the old functionality back, where ships can sink and european ships don't require christianity, just the T4 namban port, so I can switch back to buddhism after building Namban Quarters. Is there a solution?
Doesnt make much of a difference since you dont got the ships that deal enough damage but since the description says the mod is also for genpai campaign I just wanted to point this out.
If you want to cause sinking effect, you also need to increase or decrease the damage of naval guns
Note that there's some RNG involved. Just because a ship's hull hits 50% or lower doesn't mean it will begin to sink EVERY time. Also worth noting this only applies to BLACK SHIP and NANBAN TRADE SHIP cannons. Since the cannon bunes are lower caliber, the cannon bune's logic does not work the same way.
@Fernander, that mod almost does the exact same thing this mod does. I compared the pack files and "sinkable ships" increases the sinking threshold from 0.1 to 0.6 (this mod sets it to 0.5). The reason why it might appear to make ships sink more consistently is because the "sinkable ships" author increases cannon projectile strength something like 2-3x vanilla. So that mod would take significantly fewer volleys to cause ships to hit 60% or less AND begin to sink. I'm not going to say which is better, you guys should choose whichever mod to suits your gameplay style.
Also, since my last comment I think I've seen some enemy boats below 50% hull, but not from me; maybe that happens from auto-resolves.
To let things sink again, you'd probably need to raise the threshold even higher...but at that point, everything becomes like a cannon.
water bailout modifier: set this to 0 and ship able to sink to all ship in shogun 2.
flood threshold to sink, water bailout modifier in unit stats naval tables. the low number the faster ship sink.
I use both the Nanban Trade Ship and the Black Ship.
