Doesn't seem to sink ships.

unfortunately ships still not sinking after trade ship blast
ImperialForce9 Sep 2, 2024 @ 4:22am
Does this work for coop campaigns?
big Hat arxm Jun 12, 2024 @ 6:43pm
does this change auto resolves on sea battles?
heymlich Mar 27, 2024 @ 3:38am
This definitely works. Unfortunately it is incompatible with the "Namban Stuff for Buddhists" mod.

I just want the old functionality back, where ships can sink and european ships don't require christianity, just the T4 namban port, so I can switch back to buddhism after building Namban Quarters. Is there a solution?

@Slagar Something must've happened in me pushing the latest update, but it doesn't matter really. There's nothing to sink those vessels. I'll try to fix it when I have time.
Spartan VI Mar 16, 2024 @ 9:52pm
Note: that there's some RNG involved. Just because a ship's hull hits 50% or lower doesn't mean it will begin to sink EVERY time. Also worth noting this only applies to BLACK SHIP and NANBAN TRADE SHIP cannons. Since the cannon bunes are lower caliber, the cannon bune's logic does not work the same way.
Germanicus Mar 16, 2024 @ 6:57pm
Thank you Slagar, i have done that and still unable to sink bow ships despite my nanban trade ship blasting it to pieces
Slagar Mar 15, 2024 @ 12:18pm
Just subscribe and when launching the game go to mod manager in the total war launcher and activate the mod
Germanicus Mar 14, 2024 @ 5:38pm
Im new to shogun modding, do i just subscribe and im good or do i have to mess with mod folders?
Slagar Mar 11, 2024 @ 11:55am
I dont know if you are aware of this but the sinking threshold values for the genpai ships are actually still at 0.1 in your mod.
Doesnt make much of a difference since you dont got the ships that deal enough damage but since the description says the mod is also for genpai campaign I just wanted to point this out.
william09703 Oct 14, 2022 @ 5:33pm
Although it's kinda not related, but may I ask that if sengoku's certain ships also have sympathetic detonation? Cuz we do see this at Mori's death cam, isn't it? I wonder if this could also be recover
Spartan VI May 7, 2022 @ 7:46pm
李宝库baby, No, you don't need to change the damage output. I've tested this a few times now on a stream with a few witnesses and I even uploaded photo evidence in the comment immediately before yours... it works exactly as the author intended. The sinking threshold is set to 50%, so as long as the projectile type is Nanban Tradeship cannons or Black ship cannons , with a little bit of RNG, the ship damaged by these projectile types will begin to sink when the hull is at 50% or lower.
李宝库baby May 3, 2022 @ 5:47pm
如果想造成击沉效果 还需要增减舰炮的伤害
If you want to cause sinking effect, you also need to increase or decrease the damage of naval guns

没有什么效果

OK, this mod 100% works as described, proof: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2790354033

Note that there's some RNG involved.

@Fernander, that mod almost does the exact same thing this mod does. I compared the pack files and "sinkable ships" increases the sinking threshold from 0.1 to 0.6 (this mod sets it to 0.5). The reason why it might appear to make ships sink more consistently is because the "sinkable ships" author increases cannon projectile strength something like 2-3x vanilla. So that mod would take significantly fewer volleys to cause ships to hit 60% or less AND begin to sink. I'm not going to say which is better, you guys should choose whichever mod to suits your gameplay style.
Spartan VI Apr 6, 2022 @ 10:18am
I'm going to put this debate to rest once and for all. Hold onto your butts.
Angelic Burrito Mar 19, 2022 @ 12:37am
@BG - The floor on hull health seems like a hard-coded vanilla thing because I didn't see anything in this mod that would make that change. I'm also not sure it can be changed.

Also, since my last comment I think I've seen some enemy boats below 50% hull, but not from me; maybe that happens from auto-resolves.
Blehh..... Mar 8, 2022 @ 5:57pm
maybe decrease or disable hull health cant be below 50%?
Angelic Burrito Mar 7, 2022 @ 8:12pm
Even if this technically works, it doesn't matter because—as others have pointed out—a ship's hull health can't go below ~50% anymore. (Talking about the Sengoku campaign, btw; idk if this applies to FotS.)

To let things sink again, you'd probably need to raise the threshold even higher...but at that point, everything becomes like a cannon.

No other mods installed, this one doesn't work.
Morginie Jan 9, 2022 @ 2:34pm
Can confirm as some others are saying, mod has not been working for me for months, even after reinstalling this and all my mods. Wondering if a particular mod is causing a conflict for some with this one. The author claims it is working, but that is clearly only on his set up.
nikonian Jan 9, 2022 @ 2:04pm
still does not work
Two Hands  [author] Nov 27, 2021 @ 10:18pm
Some people have been saying that this mod is not working, and after testing, I can conclude that they are wrong. It will take a couple of volleys to sink the ships and make sure that you do not have a conflicting mod.
TheBluGamer Oct 27, 2021 @ 8:33am
It Isn't working
Blehh..... May 5, 2021 @ 3:07am
Is there a way to increase the limit cap for cannon bunes, emperor ship and the black ship? I wanna have fun destroying boats and ships with a naval fleet of 3 stacks of these....hehehe
atlanticthelostland Apr 21, 2021 @ 6:18am
flood threshold to sink: until it reaches value. ship still function.
water bailout modifier: set this to 0 and ship able to sink to all ship in shogun 2.
atlanticthelostland Apr 20, 2021 @ 7:34am
if you want ship in shogun 2 sink fast then set:
flood threshold to sink, water bailout modifier in unit stats naval tables. the low number the faster ship sink.
Horác Badman Mar 11, 2021 @ 11:33am
Seems, that doesn´t work at all - using three cannon ships against 1 sengkoku bune - a lot of volleys fired, but ship is just demoralized and leaving battlefield...
zaaade Mar 8, 2021 @ 8:21pm
does this mod work?
Oedipus's Stepdad Mar 1, 2021 @ 12:41pm
Uh, are you sure you didn't INCREASE the threshold? Ships take less damage from cannon shots after I installed your mod.
Scarman125 Feb 25, 2021 @ 9:30pm
is this mod still broken? if so please update it.
Teo Jan 13, 2021 @ 4:57pm
Doesn't seem to work sadly :(
Durgur Dec 30, 2020 @ 5:04pm
Mod is not working.
Yuo better commit sudoku Dec 15, 2020 @ 5:35pm
During my latest campaing I've actually noticed that ships DO sink but only after recieving 10+ volleys from nanban trade ship, sadly I don't even remember whether I was using this mod or not, anyway it doesn't make much difference.
Fishi Dec 15, 2020 @ 2:09am
Looks like it's corrupted again or something, cause running tests with only this mod showed that it's still impossible to sink anything. They'll go down to roughly half hull, but no lower, it gets to the point where the only thing that can actually win a battle with a nanban trade ship v. some wood shackboats are the guys with matchlocks picking off the enemy crew. If it isn't corrupted, maybe 0.55 or 0.6 would work?
Yuo better commit sudoku Nov 5, 2020 @ 2:50am
doesn't work
SoftTree Sep 13, 2020 @ 2:52pm
Doesn't work in my experience, ship hulls get damaged faster I think but that's it. There seems to be a cap to the damage you can do to the hull, it caps at around 60% of damage taken.
Yeazzal Sep 2, 2020 @ 5:08pm
What is this mod called in the mod menu? I can't find it
Mandras Sep 1, 2020 @ 12:09pm
Am I crazy or does this not work? Never sank anything with the Black Ship. The hull damage meter seems to stop halfway. I remember the old days when a single broadside would sink medium bunes and kuboyas.
Two Hands  [author] Jul 28, 2020 @ 2:50am
Hello everyone! It seems like the mod somehow got corrupted, and it's now fixed! Happy boat hunting!
The0 May 16, 2020 @ 12:32pm
This doesn't seem to be working. I'm using the Black Ship and I've never sunk an enemy ship.
[AIMA] High Constable May 3, 2020 @ 10:18am
The mod doesn't work. Please either delete it or update it.
Ritter Ayla Mar 18, 2020 @ 7:55am
the mod isnt working , hoping it gets fixed eventually :/
YoYopuppet Jan 26, 2019 @ 1:44pm
I experience no difference, except fire arrows instantly set my ships aflame and I can't stop the flames... I just lost two Nanban Trade ships to 6 small archer boats.
Officer_donut Oct 10, 2018 @ 9:31am
sunk ur battleraft
Two Hands  [author] Aug 21, 2018 @ 5:18am
@Flying Fist of Judah That the cannons on the Cannon Bune are not high calibre enough to sink large ships. They are used for routing and killing crew. The most obvious change is with the Black Ship and the Naban Trade Ship.
Flying Fist of Judah Jul 17, 2018 @ 8:20am
In custom battle, just used a fully upgraded cannon bune against a medium bune and couldn't sink it. The cannon bune fired over a dozen volleys.
Flying Fist of Judah Jul 17, 2018 @ 8:18am
Yea this mod isn't working.
WolfusX Apr 29, 2018 @ 7:19pm
Can't seem to get them to sink.
I use both the Nanban Trade Ship and the Black Ship.
