There is another mod that should go well with this one called "populated chosen chambers" if I remember correctly.
It makes it so that the chosen no longer fight you basically solo in the final showdown, but instead warp in pods in a manner similar to the avatar fight at the end of the final mission.

One thing that could go along with this is a change such that you can't start the final two missions of the game until all three Chosen are dead. However, that would also require changing the Chosen Strongholds so that you can make more than one attempt on them should your first raid fail.

Quick question - by "either by killing the Codex or completing the Black Site" mean that you can do one or the other, or does the mod select from the two conditions as to which one "counts" on each new playthrough?

I love this mod. I love my Chosen's teeth a little sharper, for them to be a bit harder to kill. This actually gives them lasting impact in the game, rather than sees them as mid-bosses. Thank you!

Great job on this mod. I never liked how I always ended up killing the Chosen super early in the game. Now, I usually kill the last Chosen right before Broadcast.

Really excellent mod.
Would it be possible to do the same thing for the initial appearance of the chosen?
I’ve been trying to find a way to push back the earliest activation of chosen to be around 2 months in.
Been looking around the ini files for anything that sets the chosen to a “minimum-days-before-appearing”, only thing that even seems remotely relevant is “ChosenActivationDate” found in the GameData ini. But when I tried changing that to 3 days it didn’t fire at that time.

@Daltan The real killer is the Sabotage covert op, which reduces the AVATAR Project by 1 at the end of every month. It pretty much makes the game unable to be lost

I was in a debate earlier on "The differnece between EU/EW and Xcom2 storys and how it effects player urgency", and I like to say this mod solves the kinda issue with Xcom 2 where the story is mostly just to have a 'win' condition so the game doesn't go on endlessly, as it doesn't do anything else otherwise on player advancement. In one way, this means the player can adapt their base however THEY want to, without taking the story much in mind in this act, and allows for more direct altering of choices around each players style....Though there was something lacking in that the story just...is there. So this is really great, and I'm shocked it wasn't part of the main game!

...Though that's in general with your mids, and I really just have to say if there's one guy who's 'fixing this game', it's gotta be you RealityMachina!

I like this idea, honestly, but if you really want to incentivise doing plot missions it may be worth thinking of ways to limit the Reduce Avatar Progress covert op.

As someone who plays legendary, the optimial way to complete it is to wipe out the chosen before even touching the main story. Seems like a nice way to force you to start the story early.

I like this. I took out 2 Chosen before even starting the story missions. This at least gates these Covert Operations(and thus Resistance Faction Favor) to slow down the game.
