It doesn't seem that the Author is around anymore-also authored the Simple Red Fog mod that seems to have some glitches but no response to comments there either

I'm not complaining or anything because I love this mod & it's easy enough to config, but is there any chance of this working with MCM in the future?

Yes, add this:

+RandomizedBaseStats=(StatType=eStat_HP, StatAmount=3, RandStatAmount=4)
+RandomizedBaseStats=(StatType=eStat_Offense, StatAmount=55, RandStatAmount=21)
+RandomizedBaseStats=(StatType=eStat_Defense, StatAmount=0, RandStatAmount=11)
+RandomizedBaseStats=(StatType=eStat_Mobility, StatAmount=10, RandStatAmount=6)
+RandomizedBaseStats=(StatType=eStat_Hacking, StatAmount=0, RandStatAmount=11)
+RandomizedBaseStats=(StatType=eStat_Dodge, StatAmount=0, RandStatAmount=11)

to the characterstats. If the one in this mod doesn't work for them, just add it to the TurianSoldier or whoever sections in the allies unknown species mod's characterstats.ini w/o the pluses, and perhaps tweak their will too, looks like they have above normal but already randomised.

@The Frickmaster Specialist progression is +45 for squaddie, then +5 per rank thereafter (barring any other bonuses they get).
So squaddie with this mod would range 45-55 hack.

The plus, the minus section is removing a vanilla line.

The hero classes can be tweaked separately from each other, but normal xcom all fall under the Soldiers heading. Custom classes that do not use the hero class template will be fine with this mod.

Is randomization on a per-class basis? Would this affect custom soldier classes, once they get ported to WOTC?
