Is there a direct download link that I can use to get the mod? Subscribing on steam is not working for me.

Btw., i have edited, but need still to test ingame, the MC Greek Split mod to use not only 8 minor city-states (CS) but 31 (as of yet, perhaps i put still more).
All fitting historically onto the map of Greece and Aegean sea (background is that i apply the mod which allows only mod CS and also the mod which disables settlers).
This Greek CS modding could be a modders resource in future, just in case it's allowed to offer a dl link (or just if permission is necessary and granted by MC).
DaVincix Nov 4, 2017 @ 4:43am
Commentation about Ancient Greek scenario setup: Greek Civ mods (and related ones), units which use according skins from RED's pack or Ethnic Units pack.

- I can verify that MC's Greek Split mod applies RED's, but not from Ethnic Units pack.
- Thebes mod does not apply RED's, at least not at scenario start, the warrior. Any idea, if spearmen etc. using RED's skins`? Esp. Thebes should not use the generic vanilla clubsmen while its neighbors use proper Greek warrior skins.
- Other Greek civs, which i have in usage for the scenario build, upgrade is still in progress, so i have not checked RED's usage for them, but i experienced that all of do not apply skins from the Ethnic Units pack, as far as i can say: DMS Epirus, MC Thrace, Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations (here using Illyria, possibly also Dacia), Lydian Empire, Persia Achaemid Empire (Xerxes), MC Minoans (edited, using as "Knossos").
- Other experiences in this relation?

Sounds great. Didn't know it at all because i'm a total Civ noob, except that i played and also modded in a team's project (as initiator of a realism mod) Civ 4 Colonization many many years ago as that game came out. I abandoned the game and modproject for the continuation of other modprojects in another game branch (Total War games). Since then, never touched civ games again as no time and/no interest.
I must say now, Civ 5 is nice to play, a less stressful strategy game (but for me, much much too heavy unrealism content, so i have to use a lot of mods and edit diverse files, thanks to you found a wonderful map as base), fe. very very stable, what one cannot say from all such games ;)
Hyanoa  [author] Nov 3, 2017 @ 9:27am
yes I totally agree with you, civ V doesn't give huge tools for making mods and maps, it is due to that I keep waiting a map editor like the civ III worldbuilder ! (if you don't know it, one could edit the map like civ V worldbuilder, but also edit game rules : civilizations, units, ressorces, etc. extremly easily thanks to an internal rule editor in the civ III worldbuilder)
DaVincix Nov 3, 2017 @ 9:10am
In this relation, i would wish for Worldbuilder functions, which offer choices for resources and wonders and such things. This without to manually set the single object per tile. Ie. that one would be able to set conditions as "only Ancient era resources", "only Ancient Greek geography (mix of European and Near-East" and such. Worldbuilder is nice but offers pretty limited options, imo.
DaVincix Nov 3, 2017 @ 9:05am
Makes sense. And yes, i know about the Worldbuilder different layers, in the meantime. Because i'm editing your map in match with a plethora of mods, which i also edit. Just to get in result a, as far as possible, realism Ancient Greek scenario-build to play.
Hyanoa  [author] Nov 3, 2017 @ 3:54am
Hello, in the Worldbuilder, I put all mountains hexes as snow hexes too only so be able to see easily the location of mountains on the map, and so as people to see it too easily while looking at the mod pictures
However, this hasn't any incidence on the map while playing, in fact, mountains graphisms depdn on the "continent" where they are (in civ V there are four base graphics : Europe, Africa, America and Asia, terrains textures and appearance depend on their continent) So due to that, in Chios picture for example, you can see snowy mountains from european graphics in Chios island, and rocky mountains from asian graphics at the right, in Anatolia (forests don't look like exactly plus, for example)
So I put these european snowy mountains only because of the fact that Greece is a european country, so I used the european continent textures, thus it's more a design choice (and I love european textures so :) )
DaVincix Nov 2, 2017 @ 7:49pm
My Citadel issue is solved now, and sorry again.

Ontopic question: Why did you choose snowy mountains (and not the tundra texture)? Design choice or simplification or ancient geography and climate research, or still something else?
Wait, looking at your preview pics the second time, do you use a mountain texture mod?
DaVincix Oct 31, 2017 @ 7:29am
Added comment to below's theme, building models: Atm. i even cannot find a model folder that hints to buildings like Citadel and such, i looked through the whole Civ5 directory. And also researched in the internet, couldn't find decisive info. Delete, if it is too offtopic.
DaVincix Oct 31, 2017 @ 7:24am
I changed the modsetup a bit and edited the map again. I'm, or rather was, a realism (and lore) modder, and doing it still for personal usage in several games i'm playing. So you guys can imagine how much annoying i find Civ 5 vanilla in this regard of (historical) "accuracy".

I really wonder fe. (because civ 5 is that old now), why there are no 3d building model replacements and additions for the proper Era playing. I researched all over the place.
What angers me most atm. is the Citadel model ... a Renaissance/Barrock period art ... wtf? Lol.
Just in case, anybody has tipps to replace that, please leave a not here (because here i will look most often, atm., as go into subscribed mods at first to let out my comments).
Please forgive my rant, as it has nothing to do with your awesome map work ;)
Hyanoa  [author] Oct 30, 2017 @ 10:40am
@DaVincix, OK thanks, I used some of these mods too and it was great
@Αριστομαχος, for Anno domini, I had no problem, but it is a very heavy mod, so it generally doesn't appreciate other mods running at the same time (confloict error), and in worldbuilder, make sure you loadded it with anno domini mod (base mod + art files + cities in development + a set of civilization) and taht you put in the map the civ added thanks to tyhe mod (as Anno domini is atotal conversion mod of civ V, all base civilizations will be "unactivated" by the mod)
DaVincix Oct 30, 2017 @ 10:09am
This below is a following scenario: 8 playable civs (some of the most mayor Greek ancient powers: Athens, Sparta, Macedon, Pergamon from the Greek split mod and comes with 8 original Greek ancient city-states, plus the obvious civs from below).
No more stupid unrealism vanilla civs and city states appear there!

Would love to add still Illyria as civ north to Epirus, east to Macedonia, or better as city state, cause as civ they might become to powerful (ahistorical). I would be interested how one can create such a city state mod.
DaVincix Oct 30, 2017 @ 10:00am
Need still a mod, which would prolonge the default building construction times, and second, unit training times (ie. i want settlers needing much more time to avoid AI civs spam settlements all around in the first turns as they can!). Any recommendation?
DaVincix Oct 30, 2017 @ 9:59am
Civs
1) DMS' The Kingdom of Epirus (v 7)
2) Lydian Empire (v 2)
3) MC's Greek Civilisation Split (v 2)
4) MC's Minoans (v 3)
5) MC's Thrace (v 2)

Gameplay
6) Buildings - Upgrade System (v 12)
7) City State Removal (v 1) ... removes all vanilla city-states, must-have for the scenario! Not sure now if i have no. 14) active instead.
8) Civ Specific Wonders (v 1) ... edited
9) Eras - Ancient Age (v 14) ... edited
10) Fewer Active Religions (v 1) ... edited: only 1 religion
11) Greco-Roman Denominations (Historical Religions) (v 2) ... probably obsolete now
12) No More Missionaries (AI Only) (v 2)
13) Only Mod Civs (v 2)
14) Remove Vanilla City States (v 1) ... see no. 7, not sure which i've chosen now
14) Units - Starting Scout (v 1) ... probably obsolete now
15) War - Less Damaged Captured Cities (v 3)
Αριστομαχος Oct 30, 2017 @ 6:17am
I tried making a scenario with your map and Anno Domini, and ther is a runtime error when I try to play the map after mod selection screen. With the mods I have installed on all maps it works, also yours, just the scenario does not. Any ideas as to what the cause of the crash might be? All I added was settlers and scouts for 22 civs and about 10 cs.
Hyanoa  [author] Oct 29, 2017 @ 9:39am
Nice if your problem is resolved :)
Could I ask you what Greek mods are you using with ? I am still testing some mods composition so as to have the better gameplay and so I am interested by other players' experience
(currently, I am trying it with Anno domini mod)
DaVincix Oct 29, 2017 @ 7:13am
Hey FG, i did what you recommended, installing the SDK and edited the former v1, and then in the process as i wanted to load and play, the v2 was up. I was confused but figured it out what happened, and finally did they same with v2, because it was much more fitting for the chosen Greek civs. In the meantime, i put together a collection of 20 modfiles, which let me play a practically mod-only Ancient Greece game, that even has ironed out pretty much of the drastic unrealism of vanilla (modified a few xml's of some mods, i'm an old modder myself). I'm a happy Civ 5 noob now - actually, first started Civ5 a few days ago, after i purchased it with all dlc's somewhere in the past.
Αριστομαχος Oct 29, 2017 @ 5:47am
Aye, who does not love a detailed map of their homeland in a game they always play? Anyways if you want suggestions for another map, I'd say maybe a detailed map of Μεγάλη Ελλάδα (Greater Greece = Southern Italy and sicily). But whatever the case I will be looking out for any new map from you because the skill is real.
Hyanoa  [author] Oct 29, 2017 @ 3:52am
I understood it, don't worry, I'am happy you love this map :)
Αριστομαχος Oct 28, 2017 @ 7:41am
Just played abit of your map, and I really like the naval aspect thanks to the islands, I also think that the narrow passages through mountain ranges (referring to mainland Greece) are really cool chokepoints. Might be the best map I've played on civ, so don't misunderstand me when I express my desire to see it expanded, though in its current form I am more than satisfied ;)
Hyanoa  [author] Oct 28, 2017 @ 5:01am
Yes I know, it would have been nice, but I should have had many territories of inland Anatolia whose geography isn't very easy/interessant to reproduce
Αριστομαχος Oct 28, 2017 @ 3:34am
Nice! I'll be honest, I was hoping to see the bosphorus (Where Byzantion is located, later known as Constantinople) but I am non the less very happy with the northern aegean and the addition of Makedonia and troia as well as the thracian coastline. Well done.
Hyanoa  [author] Oct 28, 2017 @ 3:13am
RELEASED !
you won't have to wait anymore ;)
Αριστομαχος Oct 27, 2017 @ 10:07am
YES! Can't wait!
Hyanoa  [author] Oct 27, 2017 @ 10:03am
Thanks you :)
if you want the different civilizations to start in their real starting location, you can easily edit the map thanks to the worldbuilder, select the Greek civs to put in the game and also place their initial settler and warrior in the map at their real starting location, even if you don't know how use it, you should be able to do that in less than 10-15 minutes, and you will be able to play thenwith the civ at their good location

@Αριστομαχος, I found time to do mapmaking, and I am making a huger map, I sould be able to publish it soon
DaVincix Oct 27, 2017 @ 9:28am
This is an excellent map mod.

I hope, or wish, somebody of the gameplay modders with realism approach would use that (with permission) for a Greek ancient era mod.

I'm using currently Ancient Era mod and Greek Civ Split mod (plus few other mods) on this map. Thing is of course, the participating civs start somehwere randomly on the map, which is just kinda immersion breaking.
Hyanoa  [author] Oct 26, 2017 @ 7:51am
Thank you very much :)
I will try to keep making map if I have time
Αριστομαχος Oct 25, 2017 @ 3:32am
Ok cool, I hope you continue to learn about modding because you have a real talent for map making (I tried to make maps, they came out aweful). And thanks for this map, truly the best map of the aegean in civ v in my opinion.
Hyanoa  [author] Oct 24, 2017 @ 3:51am
Hello, unfortunately, it is the huger map that I can create, because it is impossible to make it bigger with the WorldBuilder. Plus, many bugs can occur when one overpass this size limit
However, ifr someone find a solution in order to make bigger maps, I would be so happy to create a huger one, as it was my goal initially to cover Northern Aegean sea too
Αριστομαχος Oct 23, 2017 @ 6:54am
Would you by any chance consider making a huge version including lands to the north and east? Like with Makedonia and the bosphorus?
IconAt31 Oct 9, 2017 @ 10:48am

AWESOME! I'm gonna sub.
Hyanoa  [author] Oct 4, 2017 @ 7:12am
Coasts and rivers are perfectly realist, and almost all mountains too, as I made this map basing me on topographic maps of the region, whic is I think totaly necessary if one wants to reproduce an real map without fantasy
The only thing I modified - as I wrote it in the description - is the size of islands, but conserving their shape and particularities
IconAt31 Oct 3, 2017 @ 4:02pm
How close to ACTUAL TOPOGRAPHIC REALISM is this mod?
Hyanoa  [author] Sep 25, 2017 @ 11:52am
True Start Locations for civilizations, not supported by this map, as I do not know how code it
