This only affects the rules file, not quirks in of themselves.
Place it anywhere, but if you're not sure, at the top.
Does the Black Reliquary even have a workshop? Does it just connect and reuse the normal workshop materials?? This was built for the original game, and they have been doing a lot on their own.

Elements do not become invalid if the name is covered, you just won't be able to inspect them by hovering your mouse over them.
In order to change the spacing between elements, I think all you have to do is adjust quirk.layout.darkest, and play with the values present there.
Yeah. Though it will keep going down the screen and cover other elements. 7 is a pretty even amount that just squeezes into the allotted space.
You can edit some layout files to adjust spacing and positions of the elements.
It depends on which ones you desire to lock.
It happens automatically over time for negative ones.
You go to the sanitarium and click the positive ones until you see a lock icon. Then pay the cost and wait a week.

The negative quirks lock over time, as is normal with the base game. This simply ups the cap of what can be locked, so eventually they'll be stuck with 7 negative quirks that can't randomly cycle.

The suggested patch has been applied, and core functionality remains unchanged from a quick test run on my end. This is perfect.

Understood. This mod is indeed an old mod, and in that ancient time, the modding knowledge might be incomplete indeed. I apologize for my possibly improper statement. As to this "XXX.rules.json" prefix file name, it is proven to be long-tested correct method.
There was no mistake. This mod is ancient (Uploaded in 2017). I made it long before the workshop update even came to Darkest Dungeon.
I can look into applying this new discovery (as I didn't know this was a functionality available in the past, and I didn't want to ruin a working mod that people use.) but if there's an issue, it'll be rolled back.
Expect it shortly, since this is a smaller, quick change after all.
Excuse me, sorry to disturb you. There is a critical mistake in this mod about Compatibility: you should not use "rules.json" to override the whole global rule file, which cause other mods that need to override some specific rules cannot to function correctly.
To fix this, you must use the compatible file name "XXX.rules.json", by adding a prefix in it. Then you must ONLY write those specific rules that you need to change, ANY OTHER rules that are not concerned in your mod should not appear in your "XXX.rules.json". Only by doing so, can your mod have truly high compatibility, while the function of your mod still remains unchanged.
This can be added mid save with no issue from my prior experience.
Removing mid save will cause you to lose any additional quirks past 5.
I can change this during the weekend, I've been bogged down with college work as of late.
Engineering is quite tiresome.
In file character.layout.darkest
character_hero_layout:
.sprite_offset 35 -10
should be replaced by
character_hero_layout:
.hero_background_offset -78 -420
.sprite_offset 35 -10
A few extra deaths and weeks wouldn't hurt.

@sepulcharally This mod doesn't let you lock negative Quirks, the game does that automatically over time of not curing them.
I think the main issue @Florance is that the way you word it in the mod description sorta kinda makes it sound like you can lock negative and positive quirks haha.
So there is nothing actually wrong with anyone's game relating to this topic, they just misunderstand what the mod actually does.
What is the other mod you have installed for quirks, if you don't mind me asking?
Any suggestions?
