I would just like to offer a correction. "Pittsburg" is spelled "Pittsburgh"

Thank you IA ROCKS!

@Tjohnson97 Go to Program Files\Steam\userdata\<any number>\446800\local and edit settings.lua: edit experimentalMapSizes = false to experimentalMapSizes = true.

I was really looking forward to using this map but it says failed load map high can not exceed 16 mb.
themeatballhero Aug 4, 2018 @ 10:16pm
just a thought i was noticing as i was building lower towards the bottom of the map, lexington, roanoke, and ashland may be a good add, pretty empty south of huntington and parkersburg.. Definitely albany as well, I would love if you made this public to edit to add more cities, if possible. Love love this map, just the bottom is kinda lacking, and albany area is pretty empty.
themeatballhero Jul 31, 2018 @ 9:48pm
awesome! I personally play with unlimited cash just because, I like the realism or the look of screenshots and connecting cities. So what may not be playable for some may be for others haha. although that dang error message regarding terrain alignment is annoying.

And dont forget kentucky, drove through there once, and between driving through altoona and there, some of the most insane mountains ive seen in person.

Thanks @mymeatball hero! I've gotten back into map making as it's gotten a bit easier. I will try to update this map in the next month. it's just extremely tough to get playable/tough mountains on a map this big... had an idea to maybe to PA, WV Alagehenies and really sup up the mountains.
themeatballhero Jul 29, 2018 @ 12:23am
Love love love this map. Personally, anyone complaining about the industries should just install new industries, or industry tycoon. If I have new industries, do I still need industry tycoon? The two are incompatible from what I read on new industries mod page.

Also, as much as I love this map, would it be possible to add a certain with more extreme mountains? Love the challenge of mountains. Also Albany should be added, the home of Schenectady steam works man!!

I believe it may be because you dont have experimental map sizes enabled.. If you do already it looks like the dev's have lowered the allowable tollerance for the heighmap file size. Mine was super detailed and large so I could see wh ythis causing an issue.
D13RKES Jul 15, 2018 @ 10:33am
Captainhawes, i just tried loading the map for the first time and it began loading then I got this error msg: "Game initialization failed. Height map too large. Number of pixels must not exceed 16M."
What is the cause of this issue?
SpeedyHawes  [author] Jul 3, 2018 @ 3:38am
I'll see what I can do, was going to edit some of the cities locations and take some out. At some point though, there's just having to many cities, especially for lower end systems so to keep this mega map playable I had to focus on cities that actually contributed to the industrial rustbelt. Altoona, Utica, Lansing, and those PA places are certainly onese I was looking at adding while getting rid of places like Ft Wayne etc.
CrashCast E Jun 15, 2018 @ 7:46am
Also could you tell me how you got the heightmap for Michigan? I want to make a Michigan map sometime soon.
CrashCast E Jun 15, 2018 @ 7:45am
Is there any chance that this map would be avalible for edit? There areseveral gaps in terms of cities that make the game harder to play. Cities like albany, Providence, Fond Du Lac, Springfield IL, Lansing MI, Utica, Altoona or Harrisburg, and other cities near Virginia could be added to help fill major gaps. They might not play a role in the rst belt, but they would make the game playable. And then cties like Fort Wayne could be moved. (to the south)

says heightmap too large? wont launch help me!
Saplaiceen Mar 5, 2018 @ 11:38pm
no wheeling as a city? surprising :(
nillax Jan 8, 2018 @ 3:55pm
Awesome idea, some things are a tad off like rivers & such... Oh.. & it's "Binghamton", not "Binghampton" (no "p"). Would love mountain ranges myself as I enjoy a little more of a challenge. Pretty cool though; you got my thumbs up.

Its a great looking map, but im having a lot of problems with it for ships. You can see in my screenshot linked below. Line 1 works fine. Line 2 wont connect. I guess the river is too thin? I have the same all over the map. Also many towns close to the edge of the river, the cliffs are too steep to easily connect a harbour to the towns roads. Its fixable but takes time and money :(

I ap[precaite the time and effort youve put into the map, but unless im doing something wrong, it needs some more play testing.

Suggestions or an updated map appeciated! Would love to play it properly
Sonny Crocket Dec 31, 2017 @ 12:23pm
hmm needs bigger mountains IMO, of ocurse I understand why you didnt most players seem to hate them, but I like the challenge.
ComradeTaco Dec 2, 2017 @ 10:26pm
This is a beautiful map!

Is this the largest Transport Fever maps can be CaptainHawes?
CECTPA_MAPUHA Dec 2, 2017 @ 5:53am
С модом New Industry 2.54/2.55 не генерирует все цепочки. Молока нет, удобрений нет, спирта, одежды нет.

sergeant_0ddball Oct 24, 2017 @ 7:38am
could you please add Fond Du Lac to this?
acecc Sep 21, 2017 @ 12:42pm
I really appreciate this map. Thank you
Bulldog Aug 21, 2017 @ 4:30pm
A stock yard in Chicago would be a good historical industry for this map
Bandit Aug 19, 2017 @ 5:44pm
Skye Storme would love to play on this map.
vmz23 Aug 16, 2017 @ 3:45pm
Also, since you added other breweries, Anheuser-Busch has one next to KEWR if you wanted to add that one too.
SpeedyHawes  [author] Aug 16, 2017 @ 9:47am
@vmz23 I noticed that also, I will add that into my next revision of the map. Thought I put them in, but I guess I didn't
vmz23 Aug 16, 2017 @ 1:29am
As a local, I can't help but notice that the numerous refineries in the Newark, Elizabeth, Perth Amboy area of NJ are not represented. I don't want to sound like an ass, but just take a peek at google maps, you're going to kick yourself.
BCBIGTOKER Aug 15, 2017 @ 9:07pm
Now this one amazing map, well done Sir, I tip My hat to You.
SpeedyHawes  [author] Aug 15, 2017 @ 1:13pm
The Appalcians really make getting to those valuable resources alot tougher and costly, but that's what makes the game fun and semi-realsitic!
Bulldog Aug 15, 2017 @ 11:37am
Thanks you for taking the time to place the industries in historcal locations. By doing so the game simulation feels more real and is much more enjoyable.
CrashCast E Aug 15, 2017 @ 8:19am
I love this map, and being a person from Grand Rapids, I find it fun to build and operate the railroads im used to around here. Thanks!
Nails Nathan Aug 15, 2017 @ 8:18am
Thank you very much
SpeedyHawes  [author] Aug 15, 2017 @ 8:07am
Hey Yall, I just fixed the odd shift in towns being improperly placed. They were fine when I beta tested it, but got moved somehow in the upload. @fmccurry Montreal among some other cites should be ready to rock and roll!
Nails Nathan Aug 15, 2017 @ 5:53am
You have Montreal listed as a city. But, the city starts off with Zero buildings, so the city never grows. Is this correct?
Thank you
Nails Nathan Aug 15, 2017 @ 4:09am
Thank you
OzWally Aug 15, 2017 @ 3:57am
Nice!
