Hi ZhangJao - That might be because the models were scaled in TTS, i kept the original size from the export. That might be your problem. Sorry about that I did start to move them over to another workshop with bases that are already scaled but not all of them made it.

Are you still intrested in continuing this? I would love to see the Starcraft Minions such as Marines, Marauders, Goliaths and Ghosts being added to this!

I was testing and it seems that resizing the objects to a small model is actually increasing it, not sure why though

If not:
I used GIMP for the textures, it's a free app that works like adobe photoshop. You can put each texture together in layers, This is where you have to play around a little. You have to make them various levels of transparent. sometimes i would put a solid color layer over the while things to give it a tint by using the transparency. one layer has to be solid though.

I should note if anyone with real graphic design training reads this their head will probably explode. This is a more brute force method, i'm sure there are better ways if you know more about graphics.

Hi @plasma, I'm glad you got it working! This might be because the game has things like lighting and shader textures . For some games they have 3 "imagines" for the texture mapping. i usually ignore them if the main texture map is good enough but sometimes you have to include and overlay them to look right. (this was the case with the eternal crusade models)

First in blender delete the lighting layer. should be at the top of the list (mine is in the top right) that might be the issue.

hi @krazymann, i made it work but there is just one problem xD, i don't know how to get the color right, like, extract the model and color as in-game.

been messing around with blender and the colors come all swamped. how did you do the diablo chars? what software do you use?

Hi @Plasma, Unfortunately i don't have much time these days to work on this but i did a little research

It looks like the file is *.s2z

hi @krazymann, how have you been? sorry for bothering you but i was wondering if you could help me. i'm trying to get a the models from a game called heroes of newerth but i don't know how to do it. the reason i want them is for a campaign i'm planning and also because the game is going to end on june this year so i want something to record the memories i had from playing it.

i don't want you obviously to get all models from that game, what i wanted you to help me is for you to see if you can at least get one (and see if tecnically you can get all of them) and if you can, tell me how to do it for myself (what software did you use, how you did it, etc...).

if you cant do it or don't want it it's ok, i just want to see if i can get someone to help me since i tried already getting all models but the software i used didnt work at all.

Crusader, Demon Hunter and Witch Doctor added, that should be all the base Diablo characters. I tried to extract Malthael but his UV map was broken so I couldn't texture the model. I also moved all the weapons to a bag to speed up the loading, if you need the weapons for these let me know.

@Plasma, First batch done Azmodan, Butcher, Amazon and Barbarian I also uploaded the workshop item with bases. They should be much better for actual gameplay. link is in the description

in terms of scenery i think im ok, im searching everything thats medieval era or similar, and this mod provides lots of textures for that ^^, thank you once again

@Plasma I can do the rest of the base Diablo models with the base skins, not a problem. Might be a few weeks to get them all but ill upload them as i finish them. How are you fixed on scenery?

I enjoy doing this so don't worry about asking.

im trying to do a d&d campaing with my friends and im thinking of using diablo models, if you can, but once again take your time and only if you dont mind, it would be all models from diablo franchise,only the base form for them is ok for me.

Diablo model is the only one i need to have it's base form and prime evil skin (the red one and the black one).

I didn't have much luck with the Griffon Studios 3d model viewer but I found a blender addon from like 2006 but which has a fork that is up to date on github. So I can get the models and materials that way

@Reggie , no problem Griffon Studios - 3d model viewer V3.0 is what i used ( life got in the way from doing this so it's been a while) there might be a more updated version. this will allow you to convert the models into a .OBJ file that you can import that into your favorite 3d modeling program.

In the program itself it has a Heroes of the storm listed in the file menu (black box on the left side) you can pick that or open they should both open the model and let you view it with no texture. from there you can use the obj export button and you should be all set.

If i get some time this week ill take a look at the model and see if it's clean, some of them require a bit of work on the UV Mapping.

Hey, I'm going through the process of getting my hands on HotS models and am looking for some advice.
I've not found a way to get access to the newest models like Hogger and from what I understand it's due to an update to the .m3 format that HotS uses.
I can export them out of HotS just fine but I can't open the file with any program that opens .m3 files.
Do you have any insight into what programs I could try to open the files with?

CASC Explorer to extract the models/textures that will give you a .M3 file type most of the time.

Griffon Studios - 3d model viewer V3.0 - that will convert the .m3 file to an .obj so you want work with it in. you can also see the model there too so you know it's the right one.

Blender - i don't have 3d studio max or anything like that so I use blender since it's free.

Note: not every model comes out clean, sometimes you have to clean it up in blender. there are a lot of good tutorials on youtube that's how i learned and a TON of trial and error.

@Auce I should be able to work on that this weekend I actually want the Greymane enforcer for my 40k imperial guard army.

@Joystick wings are probably in the effects section I didn't find them in with the character model. The Seraphim version has much bigger wings but there not the same. Ill see what I can find but might take a while.

You're the best, this is easily my favorite prop and npc mod that's come out.

Did you add the rest of the wings in? Or do they not really work since the texture is more of a particle?

@Joystick, I extracted the model and texture for the Base Tyrael model and it looks very clean so shouldn't be a problem. The only thing is the wings are solid not like the wisp type in game.
