If I use custom civs, is it compatible?
jptrrs  [author] Mar 27, 2021 @ 6:29am
Gratuitous: Thanks! Feels good to know someone still uses it!

Just checking in to say I really love this mod.
jptrrs  [author] Feb 12, 2020 @ 5:29am
Probably not, @CyberClown. It's been 5 years since I updated it, and I'm not planning to.
CyberClown19 Feb 11, 2020 @ 11:12pm
Does this work when you have duplicate leaders?

I went to war, as england, with morocco, and found it impossible to distinguish moroccan troops from english ones (practically the same color in-game). Nice thought, but doesn't relaly work for me.

Cape, that's probably due to the way that mod handles those units icons. See, on the one-color civs mod there are no unit icons, only those used for civs. They are drawn from a special image file, while the game handles the color swaps elsewhere. The other mod you are using is probably messing with the file names and referencing my icons instead. There's nothing I can do about it, sorry. Maybe you could contact that mod's developers.

I encountered a strange bug in combination with the 3rd UC mod. The unit icons for two units Teutonic Knight (germany) and the Chasqui unit (inca) are replaced with two of your icons (celtish and and the one with a black ttwo headed eagle on black). Do you have any ideas how I could fix that?

SirCranburry, just open the xml from the mod folder!
NeonNobility Jul 25, 2017 @ 2:46pm
Can you include a manual download so that I can edit the colors myself. I only want certain empires to use the one-color palette, and I can easily do that if I can look at this mod's XML color files

Purple Denmark is from its Civ IV colors

This is really helpful for late game with lots of AIs. Thanks so much!

Hi, thanks for the mod. This is the first time I have played with it. I play with CBP and EUI and I'm sure this mod worked at first, all the Civs I met were their new unique colours. Now, however, I have the city banners reverting to the regular colours, but the units are sticking with yours, so I have white Portuguese citys that appear red in the minimap and the units are red. Is it compatible with above mods?

Thanks

Blue | Moonman, it would be trivial. Just go into Austria's and Poland's Civilization.xml and swap the values for "COLOR_PLAYER_<civ>_ICON" and "COLOR_PLAYER_<civ>_BACKGROUND", substituting "AUSTRIA" or "POLAND" for <civ>, respectively.
Moony Jul 6, 2016 @ 7:20am
Hi, just wondering if it would be possible for you to create a colour swap mod for Poland and Austria, including their icons? So Poalnd becomes red and white with a white-coloured eagle, and Austria becomes red and black with a black coloured eagle. (Not actually swapping the eagle icons, just the colours of the icons.)
pacific 蒸咽 Jul 3, 2016 @ 10:20am
Pretty interesting. Just Venice and Portugal have bad colors.
Otaner Jun 28, 2016 @ 2:18pm
is it compatible with flags?

Please make it work with saved games.
groolexx May 22, 2016 @ 2:53pm
Does it affect getting achievements?
Estebanium May 16, 2016 @ 5:26pm
Would it be possible to release this mod as one that will not affect savegames? My game will crash if I load a savegame..
Void Spawn Mar 1, 2016 @ 7:17pm
Japan should be black and gold cuz oda clan colors
baartus Aug 31, 2015 @ 1:12am
You should swap Poland with Japan
E Aug 22, 2015 @ 7:03pm
Amazing. You should make India's colour (and the icon colour) blue, though, it is far more appropriate and authentic, the devs had messed it up by turning it green-yellow.

Other than that, this is fantastic.

I'm glad Denmark isn't brown!
Kommissar Kiff Apr 30, 2015 @ 11:23pm
Loving this mod, I have a hard time playing with vanilla colours now.

Fantastic mod! No complaints. Just appreciation. =)
Lego Feb 18, 2015 @ 12:02am
Would you be so kind to tell me how to do it? x3
jptrrs  [author] Feb 17, 2015 @ 4:53pm
you don't need a mod for that! ;)
Lego Feb 14, 2015 @ 2:31am
Can't we have a mod that makes Rome have their red and yellow colors we all are familiar with ? -_- just swap the mongols colors or do something would be very hepful.
jptrrs  [author] Dec 17, 2014 @ 10:56am
Now, I also recieved another complaint that mentioned Austria and Poland, suggesting their eagles could be swapped out. Do you think that would suffice?
Another solution would be to swap Poland with Japan, returning the japanese icon to the vanilla color scheme. I wonder if there would be an offended japanese showing up if I did that...

Hi jollyroger3! Thanks for pointing that out.
While this is not meant to be a realistic representation of the actual nations symbols, I tried as much as possible to stick to real-life national colors for this mod. Unfortunately, human color recognition capability is rather limited, and in order to achieve this mod's goal I had to work with a limited 42-shades pallete. More than that, and civ's colors would start to look too much alike (they already do, sometimes, like Rome's and Venice's, as someone already pointed out). This leaves me with only 4 shades of red, for 4 civs, and I still need to play around with a black or white foreground to increase differentiation. To accomodate all civs that came with DLCs, I had to introduce white backgrounds - something that wasn't intended at first - hence the Polish and Assyrian color schemes.
jollyroger3 Dec 11, 2014 @ 5:41pm
Polish coat of arms has the WHITE eagle with red background, not red eagle on white background while Russian coat of arms has the golden eagle on red background, not white on red.

Could you fix this mistake in your mod, which is awkward and a bit offensive for polish players?
mirrorgrapefruit Nov 1, 2014 @ 6:20am
Can I use this mod even without any of the DLCs?
Idunnomane Oct 19, 2014 @ 3:13am
I subscribed to this mod but it didnt show up. What do you think is the problem?
Guy Sep 28, 2014 @ 5:11pm

Nvm it works now after screwing around for a bit xD
Love this mod!
jptrrs  [author] Jul 13, 2014 @ 12:28am
Brave New World went on sale sometime ago and I finally bought it. So I decided to update this little polishing of ours! Enjoy it!
(I'm sorry I can't contemplate every particular color requests, its tough to single out 43 distinct colors out of just the visible sprectrum! I can only hope most of my choices make some sense...)
Can't Mossad the Assad Jul 11, 2014 @ 1:01pm
I can subscribe to this, but it wont show up on my mod list ingame wtf?
PKArrk Jul 7, 2014 @ 1:23pm
Yes it worked and I'm glad it did. Thank you so much for this mod.
jptrrs  [author] Jul 3, 2014 @ 4:51am
dunno. does it?
PKArrk Jul 2, 2014 @ 5:30pm
Will this work with RED modpack? I hope so because I am not a fan of the default colors.
olo707 May 28, 2014 @ 12:22pm
Polish and Austrian emblems are mixed with colours. Austrian eagle should be black and Polish should be white.
