Version 4.1 Patch Notes!
  • Improvements / Bug Fixes / Optimizations
    • Overhauled the text notifications when picking up poop/thatch to be more accurate and handle some rare edge cases.
    • Crafting speed now correctly shown in the inventory screen (INI configurable).
    • The carfting engrams can no longer be sorted or mixed up with other items -- they will always be shown at the top of the inventory as expected.
    • Updated the spawn rate of Rare Mushrooms (it was previous set too high, by accident).
    • The bouncing thatch notification icons have been updated to prevent a weird transparency issue.
    • Updated multiple small issues related to replication and server restarts.
    • Rare Resources (Rare Flowers, Rare Mushrooms, Worms) will now correctly continue to spawn after a server restart.
    • Bin is now easier to place on unlevel ground, for quality-of-life.
    • Updated some item desciptions.
    • Optimized the files, reducing mod size by about 20%.

NOTE: You may need to pickup and re-place the bin in order to see all of the fixes.

Version 4.0 Patch Notes!
  • New Feature: Spoiling Bin!
    • The bin now contains a "Spoil Meat" recipe that will instantly spoil all of the meat in the compost bin, for the cost of a single feces.
  • New Feature: Easy Poop Deposit!
    • Whenever a dropped poop touches the bin, it will be deposited into the bin's inventory. Throw poops directly at the bin to deposit, or position your phiomia directly over the bin for easy composing. xD
  • New Feature: Owl Pellets!
    • Owl Pellets can now be crafted into regular fertilizer, along with other types of feces. Due to the already high fertilizer content of owl pellets, they require very little time to compost -- giving them an advantage over regular feces.
  • New Feature: Rare Resources!
    • Compost bins create a complex ecosystem of nutrients and materials, which can sometimes create a home for rare plants and animals. A handful of rare resources will now randomly spawn in the bin, based upon the contents of each bin.
    • Rare Flowers
      • Rare Flower seeds seem impossible to find, but some dinosaurs have been known to eat rare flowers and pass their seed intact -- and they sometimes find their way into survivor's compost bins. The rich fertilizer found in the Large Fertilizer bags provide a fertile environment for them to grow.
    • Rare Mushrooms
      • Rare Mushrooms are difficult to cultivate due to the unique conditions required to create them. However, survivors have noticed that rare mushrooms can sometimes sprout on top of raw feces.
    • Worms
      • Earth worms are a vital part of any ecosystem, and are attracted to the loose soil found in regular fertilizer bags. These worms also make excellent fishing bait.
  • New Feature: Snap Points!
    • The bin now has several snap points, allowing the bin to easily snap to itself in a variety of ways, to make placing them together easier.
  • New Feature: Adjustable Pickup Ranges/Quantities
    • The range and quantity for picking up feces and transfering thatch are now customizable per-bin through the bin's multiuse wheel. You can also toggle a preview range sphere to see exactly how far you're able to pull.
  • Updated Feature: Autocrafting Large Fertilizer
    • Fertilizer can now be automatically compressed into Large Fertilizer in the bin. This automation can be toggled on and off in the bin's inventory. Manually splitting a Large Fertilizer into regular fertilizer will toggle the automation off, to prevent an infinite loop of fertilizer doom. =)

Version 3.0 Patch Notes!
  • New Feature: Transfer Thatch!
    • Clicking the "Transfer Thatch" button in the inventory will attempt to transfer thatch from nearby friendly storage containers (the range roughly 50 foundations).
  • New Feature: Pickup Poop!
    • Collecting poop is an exhausting chore. Rather than running around collecting poop by hand, however, you can now attempt to pickup nearby feces with the "Pickup Poop" button. By default, using this feature costs stamina and water (sweat), to simulate the work required to gather the feces. The amount of stamina/water drained can be changed (or disabled) in the INI config settings.
  • New Feature: Toggle Auto-Crafting!
    • You can now select a crafting recipe and click "Enable/Disable Auto-Craft" to toggle whether or not the recipe automatically crafts when materials are present. For example, you could set "Large Fertilizer" to be auto-crafted, so that smaller Fertalizers are always being compacted to save space, etc.
  • When poop is present in the bin, it'll attract more than just flies -- small animated dragonflys and dung beetles will now appear, as well. (Purely cosmetic, no in-game effect)

Update: Jan 11, 2017 @ 10:38pm

Fixed a few replication bugs, and updated the animations to make them reliable.

Update: Jan 10, 2017 @ 11:23pm

Version 2.0 Patch Notes!
  • Fixed a bug where the Large Fertilizer blueprint could use both Large Fertilizer and regular Fertilizer as a crafting requirement. This could lead to problems when crafting items in bulk, because it could accidentally burn through Large's.
  • The compost bin now warns you if you're out of thatch! If you don't have enough thatch to process all of the poop in the bin, you'll see a pair of thatch icons hover above the bin to notify you visually. You can disable this in the config settings if it bugs you. =)
  • Overhauled the inventory screen description to show you the current crafting speed (2x is default).
  • Made the fertilizer conversion blueprints (Large Ferilizer, Disassemble Large Fertilizer) always require a flat 0.5 second crafting speed. That way if you have the crafting speed turned up in the config settings, it only effects the actual poop conversions and not the utility blueprints for condensing/expanding fertilizer.
  • Updated the mod image to (hopefully) make it more readable.
  • Flies will only appear if there is poop in the rebalanced compost bin. This is a very, very important feature. =)
