New region overhaul: Canada (Upper Canada, Lower Canada, Acadia)
New region overhaul: Ireland (Designed by HR himself! Draíocht did the legwork, though)

-Complete overhaul of covered regions with researched historical, geographical, climate information
-Updated to patch 1.18 compatibility
-Around 20 new provinces in North America
-5 new provinces in Europe, including:

  • Inner Hebrides (split from Innse Gall)
  • Menorca (split from Balearic Islands)
  • Pomeralia (split from Danzig)
  • Tenerife (split from Canaries)
  • Pitiusas (better known today as Ibiza) (split from The Balearics)
-Added Ibo, the province accidentally left out of 2.0 in Africa

-Cleaned up a few internal things, hopefully making updating easier in the future
-Applied some of the more recent Typus Orbis Terrarum sea province improvements
-Many, many minor fixes to everything from events to the map. May have missed some, please report any problems or ask if curious.

Cultures
  • Griko culture added (Italian Greeks), now in the majority in two provinces in southern Italy.
  • Gotlander culture added. In the majority in most of southern Sweden.
  • New events to spawn Canadian culture in much the same way as American shows up for the English.
  • Faroese culture can now appears in the Northern Isles if the owner's primary culture is not Norwegian
  • New events cause a small number of Méti cultures to emerge in certain regions of North America, more to come (Thanks to Eris)
  • Adjustement to North West African cultures in preperation of coming overhaul to the region (Thanks to Noah)
  • Changes Budejovice's culture to Austrian (it was a major Germanic enclave until the 19th century)

Area Changes
  • Adjusted areas a bit in the North Sea to better represent traditional regional groupings, instead of more recent states
  • Moved a handful of provinces in the HRE to different areas to better suit contemporary history and make borders more natural
  • New area, Moravia, split from Bohemia.
  • New area, Ingria, split from Estonia and Karelia.
  • Moved Ladoga to Novgorod from Karelia
  • Adjusted the border of Stralsund minorly

Balance, nations, cores, etc.
  • Graubuenden is now an independant tag (GRL) at the 1444 start date.
  • Two new tags Mallorca (MLA) and Valencia (VAL). Owns cores on the Balearic Islands, and Valencia, obviously, but never any land.
  • Moved around the development in Scotland slightly in order to represent pre-clearances wealth and population. Same total dev
  • Removed autonomy bonus for the High Kingship government type.
  • Very slightly nerfed/adjusted a few Irish decisions (Gabh mo leithscéal arís a mo chairde na hEireann).
  • Increased autonomy in Dauphiné between 1444 and 1457 to represent their increased autonomy and tax exemption status
  • Personal Union missions for Scotland and England to establish a personal union over each other.
  • Added AYD cores to Lesbos and Chios, who owned them immediately prior to Genoa in 1444
  • Aragon now has its historical core on Corsica, losing it in 1450.
  • Provincial modifiers to represent the autonomy of the various kingdoms under the crown of Aragon and decisions to remove them. The current set-up is likely a temporary measure, and I intend to revist the situation soon to see if I can't better represent the situation, either with personal unions, estates, or something else.
  • Changed details of the Anglo-Irish Monarchy (Stability Cost --> Production Efficiency and gains fewer accepted cultures)
  • Gave Salish and Chinook both one more province to prevent them from moving about so much.
  • Fixed some historical mistakes at later start dates (caused by me forgetting to file in some files)
  • Few new historical advisors added to a few nations in Europe, hopefully more to come (Thanks to Eris)
  • Improved discovery dates for a few sea provinces

Strait changes
  • New strait from Holstein-Lolland
  • Removed the Haida-Tlingit strait, again
  • Removed the Kodiak-Naugeik strait
  • Removed the Squamish-Snuneymuxw strait
  • Removed the two Newfoundland-Canada straits, again
  • Added a straight across Lake Champlain

Localisation Changes
  • Decided to add the "g" in Tir na gCelteach, at least until I get around to my planned split of Celtic cultures.
  • Added/changed/removed/replaced/improved some localised naming in Britain and Ireland
  • Improved some dynamic names for colonial countries, more to come, hopfully.
  • Improved some dynamic names for provinces in overhauled North America, Portuguese should now have some localised naming and Russian should be slightly better and more complete
  • Changes name of "Hiberno-Norman" to "Old English". Both work, Old English, however, isn't so long it gets cut off.

Miscellanious
  • Changed some winters in Iberia based on wiki climate information (Generally, if snow is guarenteed, then it has at least mild winters)
  • Few more weather and climate tweaks in North America, highlight is the North Coast is now arctic climate.
  • Changed Tavestehus to 'woods' terrain
  • Moved Samso (island) to Aarhus (from Fyn)
  • Moved Fehmarn (island) to Holstein (from Lolland)
  • Some new events to help keep AI Ireland mostly catholic.
  • New flag for Thomond, based on the historical coat of arms instead of the O Briain crest (Thanks to Reddbane)
  • New national colour for Scotland (Yellow --> Blue [colour stolen from the Isles])
  • New national colour for the Isles (Blue --> Very Pale Blue)
  • (Beyond Typus only) Scottish flag changed to the traditional St. Andrew's Cross, instead of the Royal flag.

Trade Changes
  • Added the Severn Estuary. (longest river in Britain, one of the most important estuaries)
  • Added the Shannon Estuary. (longest river in Ireland, and very important historically)
  • Added the Meuse Estuary. (May remove it later, if it gives *too* much more trade power to NED)
  • Moved Centre of Trade in Antwerp to Brugge at the start date. An event will move it back to Antwerp later, unless the owner of Brugge is willing to pay.....
  • Removed the Centre of Trade from Amsterdam, as it was nothing in 1444. The CoT in Antwerp will move to Amsterdam, unless the owner is able to protect Antwerp....
  • Removed the Guardiana estuary from Sevilla (there were two Guardiana estuaries, now only one, in Huelva)
  • Removed the Rhône estuary from Nimes (there were two Rhône estuaries, now only one, in Provence)
  • Removed the Danube estuary from Basarabia (there were two Danube estuaries, now only one, in Tolcu)
  • Added the Guadalquivir estuary in Sevilla
  • Added the Dnieper estuary in Ingil
  • Removed trade modifiers from the provinces of both Chester and Galway. -The logic here is the 14 tribes were part of the local politics. For Chester, I simply couldn't find any justification to give it a CoT, as it appeared to be nothing extraordinary. And Liverpool didn't really take off until the early 19th century.
  • Increased the starting mercantilism of Galway to compensate for the loss of its centre of trade and better suit history.
  • Increased the starting mercantilism of Sligo.
  • Moved Gloucester and Warwick to Irish Sea trade node, moved Leicester to North Sea trade node. -Follows rivers, and *should* increase England's power in the Irish Sea, while giving the Netherlands and France a better shot in the English Channel. Also represents Bristol's historic status as a major port during the early exploration and discovery of the Americas.
  • Moved around a few provinces in North America to different trade nodes, again
  • Adjusted trade good chances in North America, again. More likely, logical, and historical trade goods should appear in the right areas.
  • New provincial modifier greatly boosts fishing output in southern Newfoundland.

Update: Jun 21, 2016 @ 4:28pm

  • Copper River (& environs) now actually has a chance of getting copper trade good!

  • Increased several historically agricultural areas' chance of getting grain trade good.
  • Increased chance of naval supplies trade good in northern regions.
-Began a new version naming system to remove the final # in Beyond Typus #.#.# outside of change notes to prevent the engine from thinking that an update isn't compatible when it actually is, this update should (hopefully) be the last time that happens.
