Update: Jun 15 @ 2:44pm

ADDITIONS
- Implemented a startup event to choose the rate of the independence event to fire, or disable it entirely.
- Added a grace period of 5 years from any game start, during which independence events will not fire. This is to give the AI some time to establish themselves at the start of any game
- Added ALL existing tags in Australia, Central America, Brazil, and Sudan colonial regions to the independence system.
- Nilotic culture group is now integrated into the culture mechanics, including neighbouring interactions

FIXES/CHANGES
- Fixed Ndee still being Hohokam's tribal land after Apachee owns it
- Reconnected two provinces owned by Zapotec
- Added a timelimit to the negative institution modifiers added in CPBM
- Changed the requirement for Carthage and Phoenicia to be formable from All provinces being Canaanite, to just Cartage, and Sidon & Beirut respectively
- Limited Romans and Byzantines from switching away due to lost capitals at least until the year 400AD
- Removed the ideas switching effect from the "Abandon old banner" decision

Update: May 3 @ 1:45pm

MINOR FIX:
- Fixed issue with last idea in "Early Offensive Ideas" group requiring Adm points instead of Mil points

Update: Apr 27 @ 4:19pm

UPDATE v9

ADDITIONS
- Made it possible to completely re-annex (or fully vassalize) a breakaway state from the independence event, regardless of how large they are, for 95% warscore and 90% warscore respectively
- Added a delayed hidden event upon independence war, to build to forcelimit (again) after the first monthly tick has happened, and the forcelimit itself is properly calculated
- Added an additional step for independence events of subjects, by sending an option to the overlord first. Overlord can either choose to let it happen or to prevent it.
- Added ALL existing tags in China (plus several new tags added by this mod) to the independence system. This includes some new formables
- Added a few tags to the Chinese dynasties mechanic
- Added 11 alternate cultural variant tags of China
- Chinese and Tibetan culture groups and regions are now integrated into the culture mechanics, including neighbouring interactions

FIXES/CHANGES
- Fixed Kazan and Volga Bulgaria switching tags due to being too small
- Added clause in independence events to ensure if target is steppe nomads, that the new independent state is nomad also
- Adjusted many states' independence spans and province ownership requirements, primarily to allow the some historical independence events to still happen
- Adjusted several independence tags to own ANY of their capital provinces, rather than ALL, depending on the above work.
- Fixed Tripoli's (Libya) broken independence trigger
- Fixed "Late Pax Romana" issues
- A few other small issues found and fixed

Update: Mar 31 @ 4:19pm

MINOR UPDATE

ADDITIONS
- Added independence events for tags based in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
- Added 10 new tags in the above regions, for additional possible independences.
- Created Republic/Non-Republic association between Turkestan tag and Ferghana tag respectively.
- Created cultural/religious associations between the following groups: Tajikistan-Khuttal, Transoxiana-Sogdiana, Ferghana-Farghana, Kyrgyzstan-Western Gokturks-Turgesh (associations mean that a tag switch may be possible given the correct culture or religion in this case).
- Added cultural blend between Altaic culture group (kazakh, uyghur, etc.) with neighbouring regions and cultures, and vice versa. This comes with 3 new cultures: Karakalpak, Indo-Altaic, Western Tibetan (Tibetan group).

FIXES/CHANGES
- Improved the independence mechanic to properly assign idea groups to new states.
- Fixed the encoding of the culture text file, which caused issues including some cultures vanishing entirely.
- Reverted the CPBM restriction to only form Kyrgyzstan if you are a republic, instead preventing Western Gokturks and Turgesh from being able to form it
- Fixed an MMETR issue with a province that should have belonged to Chuban for a while in the history but incorrectly remained part of Gokturks

Update: Mar 24 @ 4:13pm

MAJOR UPDATE v8

NEW MECHANICS
- Capital Switch: A large selection of countries have been associated with one or more capital provinces (i.e. Paris for France). If a country loses control of the province(s), then a decision appears to give the choice to switch to a tag that represents that new capital (i.e. France loses Paris, new capital is Provence, they can switch to Provence tag)
- Cultural Diversification: If an empire had spread its culture widely, but then lost some countries through independence events, those countries will eventually become a different culture again, even if bringing back ones long lost!
- Cultural Blending: A new system where cultural overlaps can create blended cultures where the owner of a province is of a different culture group to that province. This comes with many new added cultures where several blends were needed i.e. "Mozarabic" for Spanish group that is under the control of Moors

OTHER ADDITIONS
- Institutions have been reigned in a bit, with some weighting on spawn areas being similar to historical, as well as slowdown effects. Typically these would spread very quickly and even in vanilla it allows totally different parts of the world to keep up with tech. Hopefully this addresses that and may be tweaked going forward too
- Applied a Adm/Dip/Mil points base reduction in early ages to counteract the distance between techs, as well as overdevelopment and active cultural spread (passive spread exists in CFBM)
- Altered Pax Romana with somewhat more buffs, to counteract the other CFBM changes and give AI Rome a better chance of not immediately collapsing. After 200AD, Pax Romana boons will lessen.
- Added Independence event "brakes" for Romans, Caliphates, and new Hordes, allowing them reprieve but for a limited time.
- Applied a scaling reduction to HRE Imperial Authority gain in ages prior to 1444, as well as one to Inti religious authority
- AI can now choose either Centralisation or Decentralisation path in HRE
- Independence Event now has a Decision Tooltip to help monitor positive and negative impacts to the MTTH, as well as actually displaying the value.
- Several new modifiers added to the Independence event MTTH (base time also altered), based on the current Age and the size of a country. The base alteration and Age modifiers were refined based on analytics conducted against each age period in the game, to ensure a similar rate of country creation based on historical rates. I found that the base mechanics of EU4 and ET end up significantly shrinking the count of tags on the map over time compared to moving the clock forward in the start screen, which the independence events will somewhat counter.
- A few more alternate colonial nations
- Several new independence states. All existing tags in several regions can become independent, and this is actively being worked on to encompass the whole map
- Several new tags in the regions above for alternate history
- Formable Sumatra and Java nations (only for some existing/independence tags)
- Revamped borders of Malaysia and Malawi, completing the entire map!
- Added two new events to provide a path to colonisation of New Zealand and Hawaii, which rarely happens when the islands are held by native tags (the Hawaii one also doubles up as a good Pearl Harbor attack event)
- Added some Scandinavian dynastic names to the cultures file which existed historically, and would have had no chance to appear otherwise
- Expanded the Kievan event to adopt a Christianity/Islam/etc. onto the other neighbouring slavic states, based on what Kiev chose
- Additional events in Russia and Belarus based on the principle of allowing things to happen in the game that happened in real life or by moving the starting clock forward and observing the map

FIXES/CHANGES
- Major alteration to the Independence event, with a tooltip warning. Now, if an independence cuts off territory previously connected by land or straits, the separated portions are also awarded.
- Fixed a couple of decision infinite loops
- Limited the ability for Native American tags to trigger independence if their capitals are not native culture
- Altered the likelihoods of subjects vs. modern states vs. other tags to trigger independence, with more likelihood to the former
- Altered the independence event to prevent the new tags defaulting to "Evenk" idea group
- Fixed Aceh/Lamuri being formable just by owning Aceh and being Malay
- Revamped ET's China dynastic event to stop the perpetual dynastic change each time an emperor died
- Shifted border between Irkutsk and Ude province, to re-attach Irkutsk to Mongolia
- Shifted "Liberal" province in Kansas to now be the Oklahoma panhandle, improving the aesthetic in the area
- Expanded the Himalaya wasteland zone to completely cover the span from Kashmir to Sikkim, effectively blocking off Nepal
- Shifted Norilsk province from Kara area to Tunguska area, making each area 5 provinces large
- Altered the "Form Great Yuan" decision so that Mongolia can do it, but not if they're too large
- Altered the "Form Great Liao" decision so that it can be done if there is no chinese emperor
- Altered the "Form Mongol Empire" decision so that Liao can't do it, causing a loop
- Added even further restrictions on native american tribes becoming too large by 1444 and halting colonisation
- Major tweaks to Exploration and Expansion AI pick calculations, as these were too frequently chosen
- Totally restructured the Form Iberian Union decision
- Altered the dictatorial rule, communist gov, and fascist gov reforms to be possible if overlord has them, and for AI to be much more likely to pick them if so
- Not mentioned above are many other small fixes and changes throughout the past few months.

Update: Oct 19, 2024 @ 12:53pm

ADDITIONS
- Redrawn provinces for Cambodia and Mozambique
- Mechanics around North Korea's naming, if Korea is not split but is communist, or if it does split

FIXES/CHANGES
- Various fixes to the independence events, including a critical bug that significantly broke functionality
- Removed the endgame tag limitation on the Iberia decision
- Reduced the likelihood of non-european tags to take Exploration and Expansion ideas
- Swapped around the Khmer vs. Cambodia tag switches based on their Dynasties

Update: Sep 30, 2024 @ 4:18pm

ADDITIONS
- Update to incorporate all nations and their histories from More Missions (but without their flavour from that mod)
- Update to Independence/Dynastic events where reasonable, taking into account these new nations

Update: Sep 29, 2024 @ 4:09pm

ADDITIONS
- All extra cultures and some tags from More Missions for some additional compatibility.
Note: Not all MM tags are going to be added in this mod. Unfortunately, trying to reflect all those additions in the history of CPBM (on top of religions and cultures histories everytime that mod is updated) is an unreasonable amount of work, at least for this update until I devise a different method

Update: Sep 15, 2024 @ 3:38pm

ADDITIONS
- Compatibility with latest update of More Missions. Includes the new religions added, but they will only exist at a basic level in CPBM
- Additional dynamic province names for Arabic
- More colonial formable nations
- Redrawn provinces for Zambia
- Added capability for Great Britain to switch to a celtic/hellenic or anglo-saxon alternative tag
- Added capability for Hanover to switch to Angria as a pagan version tag
- Added a few more independence events

FIXES/CHANGES
- Some nudging fixes
- Fixed the independence event for Suhma, placing them in the updated area

Update: Aug 10, 2024 @ 5:07am

BUGFIX UPDATE
- Fixed the on_actions file to mirror changes in ET
