Update 2-5-16

_________ Animations:

1) Combat animations changed for all types of infantry

2) Hoplites are more likely to keep to the phalanx formation

3) Pushing and Shoving is far more prevalent

4) Death animations during melee combat changed for swordsmen. (As a beta, if people like it, I'll change them for other types)

(Note, I don't know if I like these changes yet, I'll have to see what everyone else things)


_________ Gameplay Changes:

1) Hoplites have had their killing power buffed from the front.

2) Introducing simulated infantry mass: Units will now have a stronger impact on charges, and infantry v infantry charges will have the losing charge be knocked back, and crushed, creating pockets and other forms of entry for the winning side to get an advantage. (I had a much better version of this working, but it caused glitches, and I decided it wasn't worth it. With official help from CA, I could easily make infantry v infantry combat look beautiful)

3) Sword units are far more aggressive in their combat, and will constantly be moving up during the fight, and forming new lines, whereas spears are more reserved, and about distancing.

4) Made it easier for you to blob up your own troops in fatal mistakes, don't pull your infantry/cavalry through your other infantry/cavalry unless they are in loose formation.

5) Increased shield protection from the front against missiles.

6) Nerfed 'Focused Barrage' ability on Elite Archers, by increasing the cooldown substantially.

7) Nerfed Valour duration, and increased cooldown. It also has a 10 second windup time that is also visible to the enemy, so it is no longer instantaneous.

8) Exhaustion is now far more difficult to remove, and as a result, more problematic. Cycle out your troops, and let them rest.

9) Reduced run speed on most heavy infantry

10) Changed up pike damage, should be more effective. Will buff further once I see more data.

_________ New Abilities:

1) Might of Rome (Given to Trajan's Praetorian Body Guard, Multiplayer Only.)
Grants all nearby friendly units unbreakable morale, and an enormous boost to offensive capabilities for a full minute. At the end of the duration, units are completely exhausted. Use it as a finisher to quickly crush an enemy, similar to Crush Opposition.

2) Defend the Eagle (Given to the Aquila Cohort)
The Eagle Cohort moves into a hollow square formation, and grants all nearby units an enormous boost to defensive capability. Friendly units move slower while in the zone of influence of this ability, so make sure they have sustainable defensive positions. They lose offensive power as well. Unbreakable morale. Is toggleable, but has a 50 second cooldown once toggled before being switched off/on again.

3) Close Quarters (Given to all units with short/medium length swords, and training)
Grants extreme offensive power to a unit when toggled on, but will tire them much faster. Used to quickly win grind out fights.

_________ Visual Changes:

1) Changed some textures on a few hellenic helmets.

2) Hoplite crests now come with more variety. Rather than just the bland black/red/white, you can now see blue/green/gold crests, along with stripes crests such as white/red, black/gold, and black/red/gold.

1) Imperial Guard - Seleucid

2) Seleucian Guardsmen - Seleucid

3) Egyptian Hoplites - Egypt

4) Temple Guardians - Egypt

5) Egyptian Heavy Infantry - Egypt

6) Sutekh's Cultists - Egypt

7) Sutekh's Warmasters - Egypt

8) Libyan Late Infantry - Libya

(Will add more, as I get more ideas for units that compliment the factions)
