Update: Granular Class Configuration
This update adds separate configuration options to enable or disable headshots for melee, ranged, and magic weapon classes. This change was implemented based on user feedback requesting the ability to make headshots a class-exclusive mechanic.

New Configuration Toggles
The following boolean toggles have been added to the "General Settings" section of the config menu:
  • Enable Melee Headshots: Controls headshots for projectile-based melee weapons (e.g., boomerangs, sword beams).
  • Enable Ranged Headshots: Controls headshots for ranged weapons.
  • Enable Magic Headshots: Controls headshots for magic weapons.
The existing toggles for Summoner and Calamity Rogue classes remain unchanged.

Functional Impact
These new options allow for more specific gameplay setups. For example, to make headshots a mechanic exclusive to the Ranger class, a user would now disable the toggles for Melee, Magic, Summoner, and Rogue, leaving only the "Enable Ranged Headshots" option active.

The Boss Hunter Update

This is a massive content update that brings the tactical challenge of headshots to many of Terraria's most formidable vanilla and modded bosses!

This update was made possible thanks to a great suggestion from Alex Greene, who asked for support for these specific bosses. Thank you for sparking this major addition!

⭐ New Headshot Support for Bosses & Enemies
You can now go head-to-head with some of the most iconic bosses in the game. A new config option, "Enable Boss Headshots," has been added to toggle this feature on or off.

Vanilla Terraria:
  • Empress of Light
  • Lunatic Cultist
  • Wyvern
  • The Destroyer (Special Mechanic, see below)

Fargo's Souls Mod:
  • Mutant
  • Abominationn
  • Deviantt

Calamity Mod:
  • Anahita
  • Brimstone Elemental (Phase-Dependent, see below)
  • Supreme Calamitas

⚠️ A Note on Modded Boss Hitboxes
I've done my best to create precise headshot zones for every boss. However, some modded bosses (notably Supreme Calamitas and the Fargo's trio) use very large, often circular, hitboxes that do not perfectly align with their visual sprite.

This means it can be difficult to land a headshot with precise, non-penetrating weapons. For example, a weapon with a lingering area of effect (like the Rainbow Rod) might connect easily, while a precision weapon (like the S.D.M.G. with regular bullets) might hit the boss's main body without touching the smaller head area. Piercing and explosive projectiles can help!

⚙️ New Gameplay Mechanics
  • The Destroyer: To make this fight more strategic, any projectile that hits its head segment is now a guaranteed headshot. This rewards players for focusing on the most dangerous part of the worm.

  • Brimstone Elemental: Her head is only vulnerable to headshots during her humanoid phases. When she transforms into her defensive "cocoon" state, the headshot zone is disabled, forcing you to adapt your strategy on the fly.

[Changed]

Complete Overhaul of Targeting Logic: The system for identifying headshot targets has been completely rewritten.

Previously, the mod would incorrectly allow headshots on non-humanoid enemies like crabs, spiders, and other beasts because it only checked for a broad AI type.

The new, smarter logic now starts with the general AI type (to ensure compatibility with modded enemies) but then filters out a specific list of non-humanoid vanilla creatures.

This results in a much more accurate and logical experience in the base game, while automatically supporting most humanoid enemies from other mods.

[Added]

Calamity Mod Rogue Support: A new toggle has been added to the settings to enable headshots for the Rogue class. This is enabled by default.

New Mod Icon: The workshop icon for the mod has been updated.

Localization: Updated English and Russian localization files for the new Rogue class option.

Configurable Summoner Headshots

[Added]

Added a new option in the mod settings: "Summoner Weapons Can Headshot".

This option allows you to enable or disable the ability for summoner weapon projectiles to land headshots.

By default, this option is disabled. You can re-enable it in the settings if you enjoyed this feature.

[Changes]

Updated localization files for Russian and English.
