[HOTFIX]
This hotfix removes unintended base game assemblies that were accidentally included in the previous update and caused red errors during startup. Only the mod’s own assembly is now kept, which resolves the duplicate assembly conflicts. No content has been changed, this update is purely a technical fix to ensure stable loading.

Version Mod 1.1.1

Update: Sep 16 @ 10:20pm

[NEW] Herbivoral Program
Added new herbivore species to balance grazing pressure and reduce tree overconsumption.

[NEW] Nest & Burrow Program
Implemented natural spawning structures.
Burrows and nests now appear organically, making fauna more dynamic without overcrowding.
Planned: one future aquatic structure.

[BALANCE] General Review
Adjusted stats across multiple animals for greater consistency.
Rebalanced overpowered and underperforming creatures to better fit intended roles.

[BALANCE] Deermoss Milk Adjustment
Reduced production and effects of Deermoss milk.
Still valuable, but no longer game-breaking.

[BALANCE] Spawn Frequency Reduction
Significantly lowered the spawn rate of modded creatures to emphasize their mythical nature.
While rarer, at least one creature will still consistently appear in the selected biomes.
The Plastemmoth, in particular, is now considered a rare encounter.

[FIXES] Raptorkhan Classification
Corrected misclassification of Raptorkhan as a herd animal.

[NEW] Fauna Structures Event
Added an event that spawns burrows and nests on the map, diversifying ecology and gameplay.

[NEW] Primitive Weapons System
Introduced primitive weapons crafted from animal drops.
Provides meaningful use for fauna products, limited to basic survival equipment.

Update: Aug 12 @ 6:29pm

NEW] Harpeagle – A mythical predator of the skies, revered and feared in equal measure. Rarely seen, it soars above mountains and forests, striking with unmatched precision. Its oily feathers, prized for their unique properties, can be harvested from tamed individuals and are used in mystical crafting recipes.

[NEW] Hellboar – A massive, ancient boar-like beast, known for its raw strength and relentless aggression. Its tusks are highly sought after by tribal smiths, and its meat offers special properties. The Elder Tuskhog’s presence brings both danger and opportunity to the wilds.

[NEW] Oily Feather Pipe – A rare drug crafted from Harpeagle feathers, granting temporary psychic clarity and enhanced learning capacity. However, its mystical oils are addictive if overused, making careful consumption essential.

[NEW] Hellboar Liver Slices – Ritual medicine prepared from Hellboar livers, used by tribal warriors for toxin cleansing and pain relief. Overuse causes heavy drowsiness and can incapacitate the unprepared.

[FIXED] Resolved multiple XML inconsistencies causing errors with certain crafting recipes and animal drops. Fixed incorrect texture scaling for several creatures. Addressed an issue where some modded meats were not stacking correctly with vanilla meat types.

[BALANCE] Adjusted meat yield rates for multiple mod animals to better reflect body size, rarity, and ecosystem impact. Some oversized yields were reduced to prevent economy imbalance.

[BALANCE] Fine-tuned wildness, combat power, and ecosystem weights for Harpeagle and Elder Tuskhog to ensure biome balance. Harpeagle now requires more skill to tame, and Elder Tuskhog’s combat stats better match its intended threat level.

[VISUAL] Increased sprite sizes for certain creatures to better reflect their intended scale and presence in-game.

[PLANS] Working on a new recipe combining Megabones, horns, claws, and fangs from mod creatures to forge legendary tribal weapons.

[PLANS] Exploring an implant system that would allow colonists to make use of special organs harvested from mythical beasts, enhancing abilities and survivability.

[Auto-generated text]: Update on 8/4/2025 7:55:00 PM.

[FIXED] Breeding issues resolved
Animals like the Plastemmoth were previously unable to give birth due to incorrect adult age settings. This has now been fixed, and they will properly reproduce once they reach maturity.

[FIXED] Furpotamus caravan carry functionality
The Furpotamus was not increasing caravan capacity as expected. This has been corrected and it now properly functions as a pack animal, contributing to hauling weight during travel.

[ADDED] New visual when Furpotamus is carrying items
A custom texture was added to show when the Furpotamus is loaded with supplies in a caravan. This improves visual clarity and adds immersion during travel scenes.

Update: Aug 2 @ 12:10am

Update: Biome & Spawn Balancing + Lore Pass 8/2/2025 4:10:23 AM.

[ADDED] Added lore-rich origin paragraphs for all creatures: Scarodon, Raptorkhan, Deermoss, Duskhorn, Furpotamus, and Plastemmoth. These segments appear at the end of each animal's description and provide in-universe explanations for how these species came to exist or adapt on RimWorlds, referencing abandoned gene projects, terraforming experiments, orbital debris, and ancient tribal myths.

[REBALANCE] Rebalanced wildBiomes spawn rates across all custom animals. The goal was to keep them distributed across multiple biomes while reducing their overall frequency. Spawn weights were lowered per biome, especially in colder regions, to avoid overcrowding and better reflect the rare, mythic tone intended for the mod.

[REBALANCE] Adjusted ecoSystemWeight values to better represent each creature’s ecological footprint. Scarodon, for example, had a relatively low value which allowed too many to coexist at once. We moderately increased weights to keep animals present but prevent them from overwhelming the ecosystem.

[REBALANCE] Set Scarodon wildGroupSize to 1–1 to reinforce its role as a solitary apex predator. This prevents group spawns, fits its intended lore, and resolves issues where too many would appear in dev mode tests.

[FIXED] Corrected a texture loading issue for the Scarodon corpse (Scarodon_Corpse.png). File path and definition were cleaned up to ensure textures load properly on death and butchering.

[FIXED] Resolved definition stacking issues caused by duplicate entries across animal XMLs. Some creatures were appearing more frequently than intended due to improperly handled patches or overlapping defs. These conflicts have now been fixed.

[FIXED] Fixed item stack limits for special resources like MegaBone, Mossmire Draught, and Emberheart Slice. These items were missing proper stack size values, causing issues with storage, hauling, and interaction with shelves and stockpiles.

[FIXED] Updated the MegaBone item. This resource now has a distinct identity compared to the Dark Ages Giant Bone. MegaBone is heavier, slightly more valuable, and is planned to serve as the base material for tribal-tier weapons and tools in future updates. It plays a key role in differentiating this mod by offering unique crafting potential.

[FIXED] Rebalanced Mossmire Draught and Emberheart Slice. Previously, their effects were inconsistently triggered and linked to incorrect thoughts. They now apply their intended Hediffs properly, with correct cooldowns and stack behavior. Mossmire Draught will continue to evolve as a mystical healing brew with potential for addiction. Emberheart Slice remains a potent, combat-focused stimulant meant for emergencies — not casual use.

[ADDED] All animal skeletons now have custom textures. This enhances visual consistency after corpse decomposition, reinforces each creature’s identity even in death, and adds immersion when exploring or scavenging in the field.
