Final Encounter VER 1.6 - Depths of Shadow

A new Hero joins the party as the gloomy Ophelia the Shadebinder and her ominous shade take to the battlefield, showing that the only one who need be afraid of the dark are those who stand against her!

New Hero! Ophelia the Shadebinder
Ophelia is a complex Defender who summons a mysterious Shade to fight alongside her. By siphoning her own life force into the shade, she's able to create deadly distractions and fend off her foes from a distance, allowing her to maneuver herself in a way other Defenders simply cannot!

New Enemy? Dalugog the Crystalline Titan
The Colossus has had a rebranding, as well as a retraining! Now going by the name Dalugog, its fight has been tightened up to be more fun and have less awkward interactions with certain Hero cards. While still not necessarily the most deadly foe available, he now provides a much more enjoyable battle!

Final Encounter VER 1.5 - Yokai Moon Rising

A new threat emerges in the form of a mysterious and deadly Yokai. Shizuka the Yokai emerges from the shadows to bring forth her demonic comardes into the realm of the living!

New Enemy! Shizuka the Yoka
Shizuka is a new, difficult boss who attempts to thwart the heroes by bringing forth a horde of yokai allies! Keep you wits about you and make sure your blades are sharp, for only the most practiced warriors can put an end to her plans before her plans come to fruition!

New mechanic! Victims
In order to allow minions to demonstrate more complex behaviours, a new Victim mechanic has been implemented! This allows minions to pick on particular Heroes, while not disrupting the Threat mechanic. Shizuka makes use of this mechanic, but Maltheus' skeletons have also been updated to use it as well to make them easier to manage!

Flint has had a minor update; some of his cards now also have Blast effects that add additional effects when he detonates his kegs! We still have our eye on Flint as someone who needs a potential mini-rework, but hopefully this small addition makes him a bit more appealing to play!

Arietta has had her maidservants recategorized as Hazards instead of Minions! This has no practical effect on gameplay, but just removes ambiguity and confusion.

Language Tweaks! In order to cut down on words and make cards more concise, Target is now a keyword - if a Hero is Targeted, it means you give them a Target Marker, and if a space is Targeted, it means you put a Target Marker in that space. The effect is the same, but it makes cards a bit quicker and easier to parse!
In addition, many Hero cards have had some minor tweaks to remove conditional 'then's where they're not intended, as well as replacing several 'move' effects with Teleports!
Finally, tile-based effects (such as Osvald's acid tiles) are now categorized as their own type of effect - Terrain. Cards that ignore the effects of tiles now state that they allow you to ignore Terrain effects.

Many typos and errors on cards have also been corrected!

It's been a while since our last update, because Shizuka took a lot of tweaking and a lot of work on Jaeulu's part to get all the art done! Our next update should not be as long, but we hope you enjoy the new fight!

Final Encounter VER 1.4 - On Blade's Edge

A new Attacker graces the battlefield with their presence, as the deadly and beautiful **Asagi the Samurai** draws her blade! As rumours arise of rumblings in the east, and whispers in the courts of Arietta's machinations grow, a new hero joins the party to dispense justice!

New Character! Asagi the Samurai
Asagi the Samurai arrives to the battle with plenty of blades to go about; so many she can scarce decide which to use! Asagi is a low-complexity Attacker who fights exclusively with melee attacks. Having a variety of powerful tools to increase her damage dealt, as well as some powerful counterattacks to catch her foes off guard!

New Enemy? Arietta the Puppetmaster?
Arietta has been practicing her art, and honing her skills, and is now more prepared than ever! Arietta has been given a significant difficulty boost to make her a much more challenging encounter! Perhaps this is Arietta's true power, or perhaps this is simply the result of certain party members ~~Emli~~ exaggerating their battle at the afterparty?

Arietta's original fight is still included in the game as a recommended 'introductory' fight for new players, should you still wish to practice against her, but we hope you'll all enjoy this new more challenging take on a now-familiar face! For those of you familiar with Arietta already, you should find a few new tricks, as well as a few familiar ones given a fresh spin!

In addition, we've given the mod just a small graphical improvement, removing the rather ugly metal trays in favour of some cleaner assets that also help make it clearer which characters are which roles - as well as putting role icons on the familiars' boxes so you know which does what!

[June 26th update]

Just pushed out a small update to fix some issues!

Artorius
Dramatic Flourish - Fixed language to clarify that playing actions as Casts is an optional effect.

Matilda
Brutal Cleave - Reworded the first part of the effect to make it clearer that discarding is not reliant on cleansing an affliction.

Afflictions
Unconscious - Effect changed for clarity. Now instead of restoring HP and drawing upon each cleanse, you now draw a fresh hand and fill your HP when you cleanse your last unconscious card. Note that the Rulebook does not reflect this change yet. The card text is correct.

Osvald
Fixed Azoth's missing Minion card; it was accidentally replaced with a second copy of Osvald's Phase 2 card!

Thellis
Aerial Blast and Howling Gale now have text telling you to remove Notis and Euris from the board at the end of their Ongoing 3 effect.
Feather Squall effect has been fixed to actually include Target Markers; the previous version accidentally

Other minor spelling and formatting errors have been fixed. In addition, the buttons that spawn player and boss boards have been tweaked in order to make it more obvious that they are actually buttons and not just nametags.
