Balance Patch 04/03/25

Overall Changes
- All of Beanie-Man's hurtboxes have been updated to match his new animations.
- Beanie-Man's Special Attacks are easier to counterplay against
- Fixed a lot of technical issues with the character.

Jab:
- Removed Disjoint Property
- Updated Animation
- Increased Jab 3 hit's KBA to 76 (was 60)

Forward Tilt:
- Updated Animation

Up Tilt:
- Added Missing Sound Effect

Down Tilt:

[h3/]Dash Attack:[/h3]
- Increased Startup by 4 frames
- Updated Animation
- Attack is 3 frames less active.

Forward Strong:
- Increased Startup by 5 frames
- Now has a unique charging animation
- Beanie-Man now charges the dropkick on the ground

Up Strong:
- Increased Startup by 1 frame
- Now has a unique charging animation
- Updated Animation, attack is now slightly snappier
- Fixed an Issue where Beanie-Man had an unintended amount of landing lag.

Down Strong:
- Beanie-Man has a BRAND NEW Down Strong!
- Beanie-Man's first ever legitimate Command Grab! Meant to visually resemble his Forward Strong on startup, it's best used as a mixup option, trading a slightly longer startup time for an unblockable grabbing attack!

Forward Air:
- Now has a unique charging animation
- Slightly increased hitbox size to better cover attack's smear.
- Added Custom Landing Lag

Backward Air:
- Increased Startup by 2 frames
- Updated Animation, attack's startup is now more telegraphed
- Now has a unique charging animation.
- Added Custom Landing Lag

Up Air:
- Updated Animation, attack's startup is now more telegraphed
- Now has a unique charging animation
- Added Custom Landing Lag

Down Air:
- Now has a unique charging animation
- Added Custom Landing Lag

Neutral Air:
- Fixed an issue where landing during the startup would completely cancel the attack.
- Animation Adjustments
- Reduced Shackle Slug BKB to 9 (was 12)

Side Special:
- Greatly reduced HP of the Grapple Shot to just 2HP (was 10). This should make the attack significantly easier to counterplay.
- Removed the invincibility Beanie-Man briefly got upon propelling towards a player.

Down Special:
- Removed the Super Armor Beanie-Man briefly got while readying the Big Beanie
- When Big Beanie is deployed, it now played a set animation before destroying after brief airtime, rather than a looping animation. (This effectly reduced the projectile lifetime without actually changing the projectile lifetime, which would create visual issues on hit)

Grab:
- Increased Startup to frame 5
- Added a unique animation if the grab is landed and no input is pressed

Forward Throw:
- Lowered Damage to 10 (was 13)
- Reduced BKB to 9 (was 12)
- Increased KBS to 0.13 (0.09)

Backward Throw:
- New Animation!

Down Throw:
- Damage Reduced to 12
- Endlag slightly increased

Other:
- Beanie-Man has a new Character Select Icon!
- Beanie-Man has an updated Victory Animation!

The Montage Preparation Patch:

Overview:
Beanie-Man’s moveset has been retooled to better suit his intended archetype as a grappler. Overall, Beanie-Man’s attacks have all been reduced in knockback power, while his grabs have been improved. Multiple aspects of his kit have also been retooled to improve his confirms into Grab.

Fluff:
Beanie-Man has updated animations for walking and jumping!

Jab:
- Reduced Damage of hit 3 to 4% (was 5%)
- Added an ever so slight amount of hitstun to Jab 2, making it easier to combo opponents at the ledge.
- If Rocket Grapple needs reloading, Beanie-Man will auto reload if he connects all 3 hits of Jab.

Forward Tilt:
- Reduced Damage to 4% (was 5%)
- Endlag reduced by 3 frames (ends frame 22, was 25)

Up Tilt:
- Reduced Damage to 4% (was 5%)
- Uppercut comes out slower, activating on frame 7 (was 4)

Up Tilt (Extra Beanie):
- Beanie-Man’s “Extra Beanie” has been moved to Taunt. (Press Up and Taunt to Activate)
- Extra Beanie now floats and weaves more sporadically.

Down Tilt:
- Reduced Damage to 4% (was 5%)
- Reduced BKB to 10 (was 11)
- Increased KBS to 0.05 (was 0.07)

Dash Attack:
- Adjusted Animation
- End Lag increased by 2 frames

Forward Strong:
- Beanie-Man now jumps slightly higher when kicking
- Adjusted Animation
- I think I lowered the KBS, but I don’t remember what it was before
- Adjusted the knockback of the second hit.

Up Strong:
- Reduced Vertical Velocity
- Slightly increased BKB to 11 (drops off to 9 on later active frames)

Down Strong:
- Knife hitbox now grabs the opponent while descending, confirming into the landing hit.

NAir:
- Adjusted the attack to make combo-ing into itself easier
- Hitting NAir twice in a row will auto-reload Rocket Grapple

FAir:
- Adjusted Animation
- Increased Startup Frames (Now activates frame 17, was 13)
- Increased Hitbox size

Back Air:
- Beanie-Man no longer completes the attack before land-canceling.
- Lowered KBS on final hit to 0.09 (was 0.125)

Neutral Special:
- Reimplemented the initial design philos of Beanie-Man’s Shackle Slugs.
- The Slugs now launch foes slightly toward Beanie-Man again. There is an implemented workaround to prevent unblockable hitboxes.
- Fixed an issue where slugs would not properly reflect
- Updated Reload Animation


Side Special:
- New Ability: When Beanie-Man hits an enemy with the grappling hook, he can hold backward to instead pull the enemy towards him, leading to further combo or potential grab confirms. (Option Select window: 5 frames)
- Updated Reload Animations

Up Special:
- Reduced Vertical Velocity (now 14v, was 16v)
- Cancel frame window increased

Down Special:
- Fixed an issue that would cause Beanie-Man to needlessly enter Air Idle while on cooldown.
- Reduced Hitbox Size

Grab:
- Beanie-Man now has a slower grab to better compliment his increased throw power, and retooled moveset.
- Now activates frame 4, was 2

Forward Throw:
- New Animation!
- Increased Knockback. Forward Throw is now a Killing Throw

Back Throw:
- Fixed an issue that would cause smaller characters to avoid the final hit of the throw.

Up Throw:
- Adjusted Animation
- Reduced KBS to 0.07 (was 0.09)

Down Throw:
- Reduced BKB to 9 (was 15)
- Reduced KBS to 0.03 (was 0.06)
- Adjusted KBA to 80 (was 35)

Ledge Getup Attack:
- Fixed an issue that made the attack unblockable.

Taunts:
- Restructured how taunts are performed:
- Neutral: “You can do better than that, C’MON!”
- Forward: “Get Beanie’d, Idiot!”
- Backward: “Hahahahaha, ah, Nerd!”
- Up: Extra Beanie
- Down: “Even Beanie-Gran hits harder than you!”

Beanie-Man Patch:

Up Tilt:
- Increased lifetime of the Extra Beanie
- Updated Cooldown system to match Big Beanie’s

Up Air:
- Window at which you recover slower from landing reduced
Down B:
- Fixed an issue where using the move during cooldown would slow Beanie-Man’s fall

Uniform Patch

Overall Changes:
- Increased overall size to 0.9. All of the collection characters going forward will be at 0.9 size. - Fixed a number of animation rig errors.
Jab:
- Completely restructured. First hit comes out frame 4 instead of 3, and the total combo now does 12 instead of 15 - Last hit now sends at a 60 degree angle, to give it justified existence in tandem with Beanie-Man’s Jab cancels.
Dash Attack:
- Strong hit deals 7 damage (was 9) - Weak Hit deals 3 damage (was 4)
Forward Strong:
- Weak Second Hit changes - Reduced KBS to 0.055x (was 0.075x) - KBA changed to 175 (was 180)
Up Strong:
- Startup now takes 12 frames to activate (was 5) - KB retooled:
- BKB increased to 9 (was 7) - KBS decreased to 0.125x (was 0.165x) - Attack now weakens in latter frames, dropping to a BKB of 7 and lowering KBS to 0.1
Down Strong:
- Startup Reduced to Frame 25 (was 29)
Neutral Air:
- KBS reduced to 0.07x (was 0.09x)
Up Air:
- Beanie-Man now has more landing lag if he lands too quickly after Up Air - KB Retooling
- BKB increased to 8 (was 7) - KBS decreased to 0.09x (was 0.11x)
All Specials:
- Adjusted Projectile size to match Beanie-Man
Down B:
- Beanie-Man’s cooldown indicator no longer appears from his groin.
Down Throw:
- KBA adjusted to 45 (was 60)
Other:
- Minor Animation Changes to Intro and Ultra

Beanie-Man June Patch
Fluff:
- Beanie-Man has new Idle and Crouching animations!

- Beanie-Man now has sound effects for stepping
Stats:
- Beanie-Man’s Walk and Run are slightly slower, to more accurately match his animations.
Jab:
- Physics Tweaks
FTilt:
- Hitbox is 1 frame less active. (Move should make sense visually when landing now)
- Removed the ability to reflect projectiles.
Forward Strong:
- Reduced the KBS
Up Strong:
- End Lag Reduced (ends f34, was 41)
- Increased Height of the jump, and by proxy, attack range
Down Smash:
- Attack has been more or less re-done. Like before, the attack has a strong hit on the knife and weaker hit on the rest of the body, whether in the air, or on the ground.
- Attack now has a smear frame (bc why not)
Up Air:
- Reduced the KBS to 0.11 (was 0.13)
Down Air:
- Reduced Startup to 8 frames (was 9)
- Increased Hitbox size
Up Special:
- Increased range to 16y (was 14)
Down Special:
- Gave Big Beanie a proper cooldown mechanic (matches Base Roster)
- Super Armor now activates when Beanie-Man’s eye flash disappears. (Armor is active from frame 11 to frame 21, when the Beanie appears)
- Increased the window during which you can turn Big Beanie around. (Now triggers if the player presses backward during the first 6 frames. Was 3)
- Fixed an Issue where Big Beanie would be destroyed by weaker projectiles/attacks
- Reduced the hitstun Big Beanie deals by 0.2
Grab:
- Reduced Startup
- Increased Active frames
- Slightly increased end lag

SD S2 Hotfix:

- Reduced the Dash Attack End Lag to not be so obnoxious
- Fixed an issue that made Jab unblockable
- Altered the Knockback Angle on Down Throw
