Update for Reforged Eden 2 Beta: (Build 24)



For updates that require a pda update for single player saves, you can run the console command pda readdata to update your save game's PDA. This may sometimes reset all mission progress.
This is not needed for dedicated servers.

Project Eden 2:
Ongoing updates for Legacy:
Updates for the Legacy faction and the Sea of Silence region. Some of these updates will need either a PDA update or a new save game to apply.
This is all work in progress. Balance, progression, and rewards are not final. Missions and unique rewards are planned.
Please let me know what you think of it so far. This contains several experimental changes that may or may not work properly.
  • IDA warns you the first time you enter the Sea of Silence. You better listen to her. Or not. It's a free galaxy.
  • Updates to creature spawning and POI configs on Legacy infected planets. Added new RG2 Legacy POI groups.
  • Added new Legacy defense POIs and OPV.
  • Added PDA triggers to support new Legacy special actions.
  • Added new dead planet type to Legacy space.
  • Brought back old Alien Moon from RE1 as a new Legacy moon type.
  • Added a cluster of energized xenosteel crystals to Legacy infected and Legacy dead planets.
  • Added new orbit for dead planets in Legacy space.
  • Adjusted star config for Sea of Silence. Added new Legacy black hole.

Misc:
  • Added option for the veteran players to turn off most Project Eden tutorial messages under PDA - Tutorials - Project Eden Settings Menu. (requires pda update)
  • Added new tutorial message when unlocking teleporters for the first time with a warning about teleporting. (requires pda update)
  • Added warning text to using teleporters.
  • Updated warning text for picking crops or opening a container that would cause reputation loss.
  • Added search tags to some PDA pages to make them easier to search for in external PDA tools.
  • Added first start of a table of contents section with links to Empyrion Buddy. Clicking a link in-game will open a Steam overlay browser to the Empyrion Buddy page for that entry. Can also be used within Empyrion Buddy for easier navigation.
  • Added new Empyriopedia token to starting equipment on all planets to help direct players to read the Empyriopedia. Please, please, please read the Empyriopedia. (new saves only)
  • Modulated ice and asteroid drills are now airtight.
  • Set CPU cost of debug warp drive to 0 and energy cost to 1.
  • Removed POI-only devices from salvage yard vessels.
  • Added pipeline POIs to temperate-like planets in Polaris, Trade Federation, and Free Colonists galactic territory.
  • Misc fixes.

Reforged Galaxy 2:
Changelog:
  • Fixed issue where Drone Launchpad had the vanilla icon
  • Updated Legacy shield generator model with unique model (not the dome shield)
  • Added Drone Bay and Drone Launchpad equivalents for Legacy faction (not for players).
  • Added another unique weapon. Maybe you'll find it... maybe you'll die.
  • Added debug console for the incinerator doors in chapter 6. Pre-damaged mapping consoles.
  • Hid faction repeatable missions until they are updated.
  • Added two new Floating Legacy POI to replace the older POIs.
  • Added two new T1 Legacy Ground POIs.
  • Buffed Legacy handheld weapons used by the player.
  • Fixed issue where the DC-17 modification window was blank.
  • Updated Pirate's Stack-15 and Distillery POIs
  • Updated Malrak-Class Carrier with weaker guns and an easier-to-access core.
  • New computer console blocks now support dialog (for POIs)
  • Replaced vanilla stats, name and description of Damaged Xenosteel Blocks with correct values.
  • Increased the item counts of several trader commodities.
  • Increased stack size of Carbon Substrate to match other components since it was still being treated as an ore.

  • The card collection bonuses are no longer limited to once per player and can be performed at any Grinning Studios trader.
  • Trading in a card set will now give a Quantum Processor instead of software. Handing in all 3 sets to the same NPC will give an extra quantum processor.
  • Fixed a signal bug in the Rados Missile Base that prevented the elevator door from being opened.
  • Increased the bonuses from dedicated Crew.
  • Adjusted colliders on legacy forcefields and deco satellite dishes.
  • Some trader improvements.
  • Added new T1 Legacy POIs.
  • Bugfixes.

Misc:

  • Added brief description of 21 mounted weapon limit to Empyriopedia. (requires pda update for SP saves)
  • Removed 10,000 meter detection limit on the Zirax attack fleet in Legacy asteroid field sectors. (new systems only)
  • Increased robotics stock of Polaris orbital robotics factories from 10-30 to 30-45.
  • Orbital advanced factories now sell industrial cut diamonds.
  • Removed system type warp restrictions on the decay gates until the Progenitor faction can be updated. (New saves only)
  • Fixed trading frequencies not working. (requires pda update for SP saves)
  • Updated more hotkeys in Empyriopedia to use the player's currently set hotkeys and added note about the Steam Workshop not being available to Epic store players. (requires pda update for SP saves)
  • Added new Empyriopedia popup when you unlock a block requiring Robotics since people have still been asking where to find them. (requires pda update for SP saves)
  • Updated Empyriopedia icons with new game icons.
  • Adjusted base attack minimal strength from 40 to 50 to give a little more leeway for player's first bases on a starting planet that are building a base manually. Remember only some starting planets have base attacks.
  • Added PDA popup when crafting a base starter block on starter planets with base attacks that warns about base attacks. (requires pda update for SP saves)
  • Potential fix for the abandoned base random mission from UCH Research Vessel captains not triggering. (requires pda update for SP saves)
  • Misc fixes.

Reforged Galaxy 2:
Small Update:
  • Adjusted color and transparency of Legacy dome shield to be less green.
  • Adjusted legacy forcefield color to match legacy colors.
  • Added new spawner pod for Legacy POIs.
  • Added missing localization entry for Legacy Forcefield.
  • Added new Full Legacy POI prototype (R2LegacyT2)
Changelog:
  • Fixed players not being able to craft ammo for the handheld Guided Rocket Launcher.

Servers please remember to delete the reforged2 Unity asset bundle from the scenario's SharedData folder on your server as it is no longer used.
The reforged2 unity bundle is no longer included in the scenario so no sense making your players download it when they connect to your server.
Please make sure both reforged2 files are deleted from the Reforged Eden 2/SharedData/Content/Bundles folder.
For single player Steam should automatically handle this.

Project Eden 2:
Misc:
  • Added new random missions from captains of UCH research vessels outside the starting systems. I did not get a chance to test these yet. (requires pda readdata console command to update in SP saves)
  • Added new warning when first approaching a T1 or T2 Zirax space POI to check the Empyriopedia as people were attempting to attack it while unprepared. (requires pda readdata console command to update in SP saves)
  • The Zirax POI in orbit around some starter planets is now in a fixed position and no longer a valid patrol target for the patrol vessel. (New saves only)
  • Rebalanced X-Corp LR-47 Thunderbolt.
  • You no longer get a reputation penalty with third party factions when spawning a structure inside of a faction's territory. You can still get a penalty with the owning faction.
  • Normalized faction penalty for spawning a structure in a faction's territory.
  • Added RG2 spider or raptor nests to Akua, Tallodar, Omicron, and Roggery starting planets.
  • Added RG2 volcanic vent POIs to many lava type planets and moons.
  • Colonist POI spawning will be updated next update to account for new POIs.

Reforged Galaxy 2:
  • Ship Drills are now airtight.
  • Model change for the handheld homing rockets (not the launcher) to fire a larger rocket.

  • Increased drop priority of Weapon Software from Quantum Computers.

Project Eden 2:
Prototype Micro Jump Drive:
This is still a work in progress. Things may change in the future and it's still in testing.
Massive thanks to NotOats for the teleport code.
Note for single player for existing saves: You will need to use the pda readddata console command to be able to use the new Micro Jump Drive devices in existing save games and they will only function in survival mode.
  • Requires experimental features to be enabled in the Project Eden Settings menu until more multiplayer testing is done.
  • Added new devices: Small Prototype Micro Jump Drive and Large Prototype Micro Jump Drive. Unlocked in the SV and CV tech trees at level 15 under the Jump Drive or Warp Drive and craftable in large, advanced, and universal constructors.
  • Place a micro jump drive on your ship and make sure it's facing forward (arrows on model point forward). The micro jump drive will be placed in the OFF state by default and should be kept OFF as it will be automatically controlled by your ship's computer when used.
  • Now activates either by selecting the micro jump drive in the control panel and pressing the ACCESS button on it, or alternatively by starting the mission in the tutorial tab of the PDA. I recommend the first method.
  • Now allows you to specify the range of the jump (5000 to 25000 meters).
  • Refined pentaxid cost now depends on range jumped. Only uses pentaxid on a successful jump. (1 pentaxid per 5000 range)
  • Now shows error messages on a failed jump, as well as for not having enough refined pentaxid before a jump.
  • Cooldown now only triggers on a successul jump. (120 seconds) To aid in testing, if you have a Project Eden Admin Access Card in your inventory it will bypass the cooldown (give item Token 6000).
  • The experimental warning now only displays the first time you use a micro jump drive.
  • Added an option to read a tutorial on the micro jump drive dialogue. The tutorial also pops up the first time you try to use a micro jump drive.
  • Added new visuals and sound effects when performing a micro jump. Note: If you turn on the micro jump drive manually it will still play the effects but not actually do anything. Keep it turned off and it will be controlled automatically by the game when you perform a jump.

Misc:
  • Removed trade shuttle Teelaha-Class Drone due to using concrete until it can be updated.
  • Removed lava geodes from Tovera combat sites due to the orange on orange on orange making it difficult to see.

Reforged Galaxy 2:
  • Reduced craft times of universal constructor-only recipes to account for speed penalty, so you're not waiting for ages on an antimatter thruster or heavy weapons.
    Added bonus: Repair Bay times for these devices will be very short.
  • Replaced model for the SV Fusion Generator with a smaller model. Will affect existing SV.
  • Adjusted mass, volume, input and output of SV Fusion Generator to match new dimensions.
  • Reduced explosiveness of ammo controllers.
  • Increased damage and reduced stamina usage of the Combat Knife and Plasma Sword.
  • Fixed incorrect CPU on some cockpit variants.
  • Updated Ghyst Bunker and Abandoned Bunker with more loot 'n stuff.
  • Updated information on Drill and Multi-turret.
  • Drill and Multi-turret now share the same functions. Both are still available.
  • Bugfixes

  • To help find resource asteroids while in asteroid fields, the asteroid fields themselves now show on the local map, but not the HUD. (new systems only)
  • Changed scanner range of orbital defense POIs from 2500 to 3000 in main orbits. (new systems only)
  • Added flashlight and combat knife to all starting equipment on Pandora. (new games only)
  • Removed outdated class 5 Voidium mining site. (new systems only)
  • Grimgar's Garden on Trading Station Lambda has caught up with the times and now accepts credit.
  • Added Colonist Marshal to Scrapyards for bounty services. (new systems only)
  • Updated Project Eden turrets with new RG2 blast effects.
  • Added Kamirat-Class Battlecarrier to hot orbits in Zirax territory. (new systems only)
  • Updated Trade Federation space Trading Station Olivine. (New systems only)
  • Fixed a corner that visitors kept stubbing their toe on in Trading Station Iota. (new POIs only)
  • Adjusted Project Eden turrets and weapons for new RG2 CPU values.
  • Removed vanilla waypoint POI from Barren Metal planets. (new systems only)
  • Mining contracts are now available every 3 hours at Polaris Orbital Refineries. (new systems only)
  • Increased chance to get a special crew from freighter ransoms from 25% to 35%. Chance to successfully ransom is now shown.

Reforged Galaxy 2:
  • Added CPU Scaling to turrets and fixed weapons based on tier, making it cheaper to use heavier weapons over multiple lighter weapons.
    Basically, that means Medium and Heavy weapons/turrets cost less CPU.
  • Reduced O2 tank size of the Federation Spacesuit from 1500 to 1000 due to a forced limit by the game for suits to have a 1000 tank size when used.
  • Reduced marketprice of Plasma Converters and Antimatter Converters, and the subsequent marketprices of anything that uses them as a crafting component (Thrusters, duh).
  • Reduced marketprice of CV devices using commodities as crafting components that incurred a high cost penalty. (usually from 1.5-2x actual value, down to 1.25x)
  • Increased the storage capacity of Quantum Storage Extenders and reduced their CPU and power consumption.
  • Updated the HV/SV Light, Medium and Heavy Gatling Models with revised barrel models (3, 4 & 6 barrels)
  • CV Repair Platform has an improved model that's airtight.
  • Reduced craft time of heavy weapon ammunition in the Univeral Constructor to account for the speed penalty for an inferior constructor class.
  • Medium Missile Launcher (CV) can now retract its missile pods when turned off.
  • Radiation Poisoning no longer contributes to radiation gain.
  • Antiradiation Pills reduce body radiation by 1.
  • Added SV Flare Launcher (Experimental). They launch flares behind your ship that will block rockets and interfere with turret tracking for a few seconds.
  • Updated Abandoned POIs again. This time with a console near the door with information and pre-damaging all the deco in the POIs so it can be destroyed in a firefight.
  • Armor durability and loss adjusted to basically deplete 20x slower.
  • Grouped Optronics in Ultra Rare containers so it's impossible to get justoptronic components in a box.

  • Added new weapon mod for heavy weapons.
  • Reduced shield capacity of Kiuvera-Class Cutter, Sunat-Class Corvette and Periat-Class Frigate. Armored their nacelles a bit to prevent excessive chainreactions.
