Reforged Eden 2 is now in beta!
Thank you everyone who has helped test, given feedback, and submitted bug reports to help us get to this stage.

This means the scenario should be mostly viable for a survival play through either in singleplayer or multiplayer but of course you'll still encounter bugs.

Misc:

  • Fixed errors in reputation config file.
  • Lowered geothermal generator CPU cost from 5000 to 2500.

  • Added a waypoint on the HUD when you get close to the deuterium miner for Expedition: Dronelands. (only applies to new save games)
  • Fixed Zirax spawning outside of their territory on Frozen Inferno planets.

Update for Reforged Eden 2 Alpha: (Build 9)


A new save game is strongly recommended due to multiple changes to the configs. Iron ingots in existing saves will be replaced by the new repair item.

Reputation changes:

  • Removed all threshold reputation losses (losses that resulted in your reputation lowering to a specific reputation level regardless of what level it's currently at). All reputation losses are now flat amounts based on action taken.
  • Removed passive reputation gains while outside of a territory.
  • Attacking a NPC or shielded structure will lower your reputation based on the damage dealt.
  • Reputation losses while inside faction territories from actions such as mining ore, harvesting plants, destroying plants, spawning structures, remaining inside a territory in a ship, and killing prey or predators will still apply based on the faction and are largely unchanged. See the in-game faction info window for details on a per-faction basis.
  • Killing a NPC will drop your reputation by 1/6th of a level (-1000). Note that sentinel NPCs do not tolerate violence and will open fire on you and kick you out of their base if they personally witnessed you attacking an ally even if you are still friendly with them.
  • Opening a container or harvesting a crop will drop your reputation by a full level (-6000).
  • Destroying a block will drop your reputation by 1/20th of a level (-300).
  • Destroying a generator, fuel tank, thruster, spawner, or turret will drop your reputation by a full level (-6000).
  • Destroying a container will drop your reputation by slightly over a full level (-6600).
  • Destroying a door will drop your reputation by two full levels (-12000).
  • Destroying a core will drop your reputation to full hated (-30000).
  • Removed Kriel reputation. Kriel is now a default hostile faction.
  • Removed explosion effect from decorative shuttles so that if they impact a POI it looks like they entered it instead of flying to their doom.
  • Added Icon of the Brotherhood decorative block for POI decoration and future mission or trader rewards. (Thanks to Spanj)
  • Updated refinery defense combat site. Increased shield hp and recharge rate for refinery. Updated defense ships to RE2 version. Added self destruct to defense ships to prevent cluttering on MP. Various tweaks to the mission.

Misc:
  • Adjusted radio audio in trade station sectors so it no longer plays near the center of the sector where the trade stations are.
  • Removed ambient audio in space orbits for all factions except Legacy, Kriel, and Drone Swarm since there's no way to control this audio in the game options.
  • Removed several unused factions from the faction config.
  • Kriel is now a default hostile faction and no longer has reputation.
  • Removed periodic reputation gain for being outside a faction's territory.
  • Fixed missing equipment box in the crashed transport on rogue and dark rogue starters.
  • Expedition: The Forge is now always visible in the PDA. Can still only be activated after completing the Project Eden Prologue and requires having 3 million credits and neutral reputation with Polaris.
  • Updated Hydroponics Bays to be consistent with RG2 stats for plant growth and yield.
  • Updated descriptions on starting planets to fix planet numbering.
  • Updated damage values for Project Eden POI and NPC weapons.
  • Reduced size on tooltip text for medium and heavy railgun turrets to help the tooltip fit.
  • Reduced number of Legacy drones in Legacy infected asteroid fields from 10-15 to 7-11.
  • Added Project Eden recipes to universal constructor.
  • Tweaked description of Kharak version of desert planets to remove references implying it's a unique planet. Fixed faction of Polaris patrol vessel.
  • Removed Zirax patrols from lava nascent and nascent moon playfields that spawned without an associated Zirax POI.
  • Removed Progenitor items (voidium drill, scanner, dark matter containers). Voidium itself will still spawn in the galaxy but cannot be harvested for now.
  • Disabled the warp gate leading to Decay until the Progenitor faction and Decay region can be rebuilt.
  • Updated Orbital Alloy Smeltery with more deco blocks. Now requires refinery license to use the furnaces.
  • Replaced RE1 Polaris factories with RE2 versions. Added Talon factories to most temperate-like planets.
  • Added Fungus planet from the default Invader vs Defender scenario as a variation of Alien planet.
  • Light Modulated Laser Turrets can now be upgraded to medium versions.
  • Removed Heavy Railgun Slug. Heavy Railgun Turrets now use the same ammunition as Medium Railgun Turrets.

Reforged Galaxy 2 Alpha:
  • Light Turrets can be upgraded to Medium Turrets.
  • Reduced CPU of CV/BA Shield Boosters from 10000/15000/22500 CPU to 8000/12000/18000 CPU.
  • Reduced CPU of HV/SV Shield Boosters from 500/750/1250 CPU to 400/600/900 CPU.
  • Reduced CPU of Plasma Turbines by 50%.
  • Slight increase to CV CPU Extender CPU output (+2000 per tier)
  • Updated Faction Reputation with new gain/loss mechanics.
  • Due to some people having extremely improbable outcomes with Legacy Bioboxes and Quantum Computers, the drops have been overhauled to guarantee Quantum processor drops with extra components.
  • Reduced the CPU and energy cost of T2 and T3 Wifi.
  • SV Bombs and EMP Bombs can now be used in space.
  • EMP Bombs deal 2x shield damage vs OPVs.
  • HV Constructor can now make Improved HV/SV Fuel Tanks and Generators.

  • Fixed incorrect numbers in regular cargo containers resulting in one cargo container having 2.5x more items than it's meant to.
  • Updated Fridge loot to include cooking ingredients first.
  • Reduced particle lifetime and emitter size of smoke effects from damaged weapons.
  • Added new blast effect to EMP Bombs, Drones and POI Turrets.
  • Added new blast effect to Heavy Railgun shots. (Experimental)
  • Reduced sound range of Plasma Turbines (again).
  • Added new sounds to Flamethrower blast effects (Handheld and HV).
  • Reduced ammo capacity of the handheld Flamethrower back to 50 (75 was too much).
  • Hardness values return to Plants, Trees and Rocks on planets. HP adjusted to match. Should solve trees/rocks not breaking when hit by an HV (and launching it into the air).
  • Increased the amount of HP restored to blocks per second by the Repair Bay when repairing block HP (not repairing to template).
  • Repair Mode (NOT repair to template) now uses new Repair Charges as materials instead of Iron Ingots. Repair Charges can be crafted from common ingots and produces 250 at a time.
  • Matter Transceivers can be upgraded and downgraded with the multitool.
  • Added new icons for the T2 and T3 Matter Transceivers.
  • Updated Polaris and Talon Factory POIs. Now contain factory-specific loot.

Update for Reforged Eden 2 Alpha: (Build 8)

Project Eden 2 Alpha:
  • Added new mission: Expedition: Dronelands. You can start it in your PDA after completing the Project Eden Prologue. Mission requires new save game.
  • Updated star class names for drone swarm stars.
  • Increased probability of drone swarm stars along edge of the galaxy.
  • Updated Hive Nursery POIs and playfield configs to use RE2 versions.
  • Buffed Guardians and Swarm Guardians.
  • Increased health of drone swarm patrol drones and updated damage configs for them.
  • Removed Project Eden debug multitool.
  • Lowered blast damage of colonist light missiles by 100 and dual light missiles by 200 to bring them more in line with standard missiles turrets.
  • Fixed music not playing on UCH Research Vessels.
  • Nova POI missiles now deal +25% impact damage to hull and armor blocks. Increased impact shield penetration from 10% to 15%..
  • Doubled reputation reward from mining contracts. Increased credit reward by 20%.
  • Added back reputation for the Eden_Defender faction to fix problems with them not properly fighting with other factions. A new save is recommended.
  • Added Ghy'st Military Bunker to playfield configs.
  • Fixed broken tech tree unlocks for small modulated laser cannons.

Reforged Galaxy 2 Alpha:
  • Small Food Processors can be made in the HV and SV Constructors.
  • Added a special blast effect for player and AI cores so it's easier to tell when you've destroyed one.
  • Reduced block and shield damage of ground troops vs HV/SV.
  • Increased damage multiplier of various turrets and weapons vs Rocks and Trees.
  • Increased O2 tank size of Light (450), Medium (375) and Heavy (300) armor variants.
  • Fixed bug where Dino Stew didn't give well fed buff.
  • Updated Sector Command with obstacles and landmines around the perimeter.
  • Added the first T4 Super-Dungeon POI (Ghy'st Military Bunker). It's no Sector Command (Which is T5), but it's got a script-driven interior and lots of loot.
  • Added faction keycards for future POI use. Keycards can be used to open locked doors and containers. (Currently only available for the new Ghy'st Bunker)

Project Eden 2 Alpha:
Drone Swarm faction update:
Work in progress. This is the first part of a multi-part update to this faction. These will NOT be balanced yet, please give feedback on the balance and risk/reward and I will adjust them. They will probably do way too much damage right now. I wanted to get this half of the update out now for initial testing.
Updated existing and added new POIs and patrol vessels for the Drone Swarm faction. Overhauled Drone Swarm playfield setups.
Drone infested systems around the edge of the galaxy will be moderate to hard difficulty. The goal is you should be able to carefully obtain your first auxiliary cpu extender using a ship that needs no auxiliary or quantum cpu extenders.
The Dronelands has harder playfields and POIs and should only be explored using an advanced combat ship that already has some quantums and/or aux cpu extenders (or a very brave pilot).
For the next update balance tweaks will be made for any aspect of the Drone Swarm, including their difficulty and reward. NOTHING IS SET IN STONE YET.
More POI and patrol vessel variations are planned, as well as easier and harder combat sites and a few unique devices to build using drone technology. An expedition mission to introduce you to the Drone Swarm is also planned.
Balance tweaks will need to be made as they have not yet been combat tested. Please leave feedback!

  • POIs are now separated into 4 tiers: Budding, Brood, Swarm, and Hive.
  • Added new Medium Nova missile turret for POIs used by the Drone Swarm.
  • Added laser defense drone bays for use by the Drone Swarm. Some POIs can now launch multiple waves of long range laser drones that will have to be dealt with.
  • Updated playfields for drone orbits and asteroid fields.

  • Increased salt gained from deconstructing dense and rich ice.

Reforged Galaxy 2 Alpha:
  • Updated most POIs and OPVs with new decorative elements and revised shields.
  • Updated Ancient Tower to split story mission zirax into an extra spawner to prevent the spawner from jamming if you kill the zombie inside the spawner's spawn zone.
  • Dialog Bugfixes.
  • Reduced charge rate of POI-only Shield Capacitors (doesn't matter for players), it just means that some POI shields will recharge slower.
  • HV and SV Light Rockets can be crafted in HV/SV Constructors.
  • Fixed strange error where Chemmix Industrial traders' dialog would error.
  • Fixed bug where Starfreight Services would fail to recognize valid jobs from factories, and then wipe the tracker for the job if you accepted them.
  • Added new deco block to the Science and Tech blocks (Containment Unit).
  • HV/SV Constructors can no longer crafting Sathium Ingots into Sathium Plates for consistency. (Also nothing the HV/SV Constructor could craft contains sathium plates anyway)
  • Fixed incorrect status effect description from Berry Milkshake.
  • Added new Dead NPC variants.
  • Updated tech tree.
  • HV and SV Starter Blocks can be crafted in the Hover, SV and Small Base Constructors.
  • Adjusted Sentinel Zirax drops so that they drop the same items as Elite Zirax.

  • POI Dome shield generators have a longer delay before recharging after being hit.
  • HV/SV shield generators have a shorter delay before recharging after being hit.
  • Legacy Ship shields buffed (So I don't have to find places to stash shield boosters)
  • Corrected Positron Cannon's shield penetration from 20% to 25% to match tooltip.
  • Reduced shield blast penetration of the 30mm vulcan from 33.3% to 16.7%
  • Kamirat Heavy Carrier (T3) upgraded back to a Battlecarrier (T4). That means more loot. Group change from R2OPVZiraxT2 to R2OPVZiraxT3.
  • Reduced chances for Datavaults to appear during hacking minigame.
  • Fixed trail being left behind Plasma Turbines when CV is moving... probably.
  • Increased planet range of HV detectors by 500m to match SV detector.
  • Fixed incorrect CPU display on Sentry Gun parent block.

Project Eden 2 Alpha:
Misc:
  • Removed patrol vessel from Oscutune.
  • Updated Bandit orbital patrol vessels.
  • Updated UCH Research Vessel for RE2.
  • Fixed Medium Bolter Turrets not being available in the item menu as a standalone block.
  • Correctly balanced Colonist Light Missiles with correct shield DPM to take into account the -25% damage.
  • Removed several more Project Eden POI blocks that are no longer being used in RE2.
  • Added new menu to spawn patrol vessels in space in survival mode for testing. Accessed in the admin section of the Project Eden Settings Menu in the tutorial tab of the PDA.

Reforged Galaxy 2 Alpha:
  • Reverted shield from hull bonus due to it unbalancing HV/SV combat vs POIs (The POIs had too much shield HP)
  • Reduced shield capacity, recharge and hit delay for POI Dome Shields. (POIs will be reviewed again later)
  • Fixed oversight where the SV Large Cargo Containers had 100 hp. Now have 2000 hp.
  • Reduced the Space range of OPV laser turrets and a few others for a 100-150m range difference between player and AI ships. (Previously 300-400m for laser)
  • Corrected name switch between HV/SV Cargo Containers.
  • Small O2 Tanks (CV/BA) can now be crafted in the portable constructor.
  • Increased ammo capacity of the Flamethrower from 50 to 75.
  • Increased ammo crafting count of Flamethrower ammo from 2 to 4 tanks.
  • Thruster Rebalancing. Cleaned up the junk numbers that have piled up over the last year from constant tweaks, to provide a consistent and smooth transition between thruster tiers and sizes.
  • For CV, it will means more thrust with no change to CPU consumption.
  • For HV/SV, it will mean a few points more CPU consumption and on average, more thrust costing less power.
  • Generator HP rescaled (more hp)
  • Generator output adjusted (more power from the smallest generators and small fusion reactor).
  • Small Plasma Turbine output increased by 100w.
  • Updated Mass and HP of all Wing Blocks.
  • Updated Heidelberg with reoriented container.
  • Fixed locked doors on Asteroid Mine POIs.
  • Added a 1-block exclusion zone in front of CV Heavy Laser and Positron Cannons where blocks cannot be placed to prevent encasing of the weapon.
  • Medium turrets and ammunition can now be crafted in the Advanced Constructor instead of just the Universal Constructor.
  • Drone and Siege Drone damage multipliers updated (Reduced damage vs player bases and ships).
  • Repair Station can be made in the small constructor.
  • Fixed missing tooltip for Hangover.
  • Added Weapon Mods for Multitools, Flamethrower and Chainsaw.
  • Moved Crossbow weapon mods into a new lootgroup for tool mods, which can be found in Lockers, Closets and Repositories. Crossbow Tal'on also have a low chance to drop them.
