v1.15 - Hotfix

= Fixed a bug introduced in the last patch that prevented La Reina from hitting opponents with the correct Ustrong punch followup hitbox. The attack can now KO again!

La Reina Patch 1.14

Overview: improvements to chair refresh mechanics, adjustments to Fspecial, and added Kragg rock grab interaction. (Thanks, Krispy!)

CHAIR REFRESH ADJUSTMENTS
+ While the chair is destroyed, hitting an opponent will decrease its creation cooldown by 60 frames.
* Taunting in practice mode will fully reduce chair cooldown
*** The HUD chair icon will briefly shine when this happens. Retains chair's long 420 frame default cooldown, while encouraging La Reina to actively get in even when chair is gone.
FSPECIAL
- Fspecial grab hitbox duration 17 → 15
+ Fspecial grab hitbox first active frame 24 → 23
+ Fspecial's whiff endlag can now slightly roll forward on the ground
* Cosmetic: Fspecial whiff endlag adjusted with new animation frames
*** Improves visual clarity and effectively removes 3 unintuitive active frames from the end of the move.
*** Bonus: Edge canceling Fspecial is slightly more consistent now.
KRAGG ROCK
* Grabs can now grab Kragg's rock.
= Grab launch hitboxes now have 10 frames of hit lockout.
*** Shoutouts to Krispy Korpse for implementing this.
*** The hit lockout is for rock mechanics and should have no effect on normal gameplay.
COSMETIC
* Hitfall and Heatwave options added to the Tournament alt.
* Abyss alt adjusted to be easier to see on Tempest Peak.
* Restored the old purple and yellow alt.

La Reina Patch 1.12

Overview: chair counterplay improved, kill power reduced across the board, miscellaneous nerfs and fixes, new alts

CHAIR ADJUSTMENTS AND FIXES
These changes are intended to add significant interactivity and counterplay to the chair. Opponents hitting the chair will disable it for much longer, but La Reina can regain chair pull early if she wins neutral or hits the chair herself. Chair protection / management now requires thought, and chair recoveries require spending a resource that she won't always have.

- Chair projectile / chair pull hitstun multiplier: 0.8 → 0.7
- Chair pull startup frames: 9 → 10
- Chair pull self-imposed cooldown frames: 14 → 30
- NSpecial chair pull and NSpecial / DSpecial chair creation are now put on a much longer cooldown when any of the following occur: chair is hit, La Reina enters parry stun, or the chair falls offstage: 60 frames → 420 frames (1 second → 7 seconds)
+ Hitting the chair or an opponent with a move other than chair pull will remove chair pull’s cooldown (but not chair creation’s cooldown)
- Parrying chair no longer reflects the projectile hitbox, ensuring that La Reina stays in extended parry stun for a larger punish
QoL: La Reina will briefly glow and play a sound when a new chair can be created
Bugfix: Hitting the chair sets has_hit to true, removing whifflag on hit
Bugfix: Fixed an issue where DSpecial Roll was sometimes unavailable if chair pull was on cooldown
Bugfix: Chair now correctly accounts for angle flippers when hit
As a side effect, Down Special’s roll is much more flexible as a chair positioning tool. Try it out!
KNOCKBACK NERFS
- Fair sourspot kb/s reduced: 5 / 0.75 → 4.5 / 0.6
- Fair sweetspot kb/s adjusted: 5 / 0.95 → 5.5 / 0.85
- Bair kb/s reduced: 6 / 0.85 → 6 / 0.8
- Dair kb/s reduced: 6 / 0.9 → 6 / 0.8

- FStrong kb/s reduced: 8 / 1.2 → 8 / 1.15
- UStrong kb/s reduced: 7 / 1.2 → 7 / 1.15
- DStrong kb/s reduced: 8 / 1.1 → 7 / 1.1

- USpecial knockback formula entirely reworked to follow an exponential curve, with weaker power overall. The thresholds at which La Reina’s USpecial will KO have been tuned to be closely comparable to Hodan’s Charged USpec: if you hit both moves at the same initial height, expect to see the galaxy effect at very similar percentages, likely a few % later in La Reina’s case.

MISCELLANEOUS NERFS, ADJUSTMENTS AND FIXES
- Dtilt damage reduced: 7 → 5
- Uair final hit damage normalized: 5-12 → 6
- USpecial hurtbox enlarged to cover La Reina’s upper forearm
- FSpecial hurtbox enlarged to increase negative disjoint and make it more likely to lose trades
- Minor nerfs to hitbox shapes and sizes on Utilt
= Final animation frame of Fair’s ending lag removed to clarify when La Reina becomes actionable.
+ Fair ending lag reduced by 3 frames: 20 (29 on whiff) → 17 (26 on whiff)
The Fair endlag change partially reverts an overcorrection from an earlier patch
COSMETIC
• CSS is now a bit fancier, using code from Tester to display alt icons, idle animation, etc. Shoutouts to Bar-Kun
• New alt for Vortex
• New alt based on the Rivals 2 concept art
• Yellow / Purple alt adjusted towards Gold / Lavender to match base cast’s Gold Rank style
• Alts created for tournaments have been consolidated into a single alt: use the CSS to swap between them!
• Alts created for playtesters have also been consolidated into a single alt

Utilt
- Startup increased from 7 to 9. Now hits on frame 10.
- Top hitbox lifetime decreased from 5 frames to 4.
= Restructured attack windows to make whifflag work properly. Total move duration unchanged.

Utilt was too effective at denying aerial approaches on reaction or by simple repeated use.
These changes should open more gaps for opponents to weave around the move while preserving its reward on hit.


Dtilt
- Added whifflag to final window. Consequently, total whifflag increased from 13 to 15.


Ftilt
- Added whifflag to penultimate window. Consequently, total whifflag increased from 16 to 20.


Fstrong
- Knockback on forward and back throws normalized from 7 & 1.3 to 8 & 1.2.


Dstrong
= Fixed a bug that could cause the hitbox to appear two frames too early.
- Reduced lifetime of all hitboxes from 6 to 4.
- Restructured attack windows to make whifflag work properly. Whifflag effectively increased from 21 to 26.


Ustrong
- Punch hitbox width reduced from 70 to 40, height reduced from 62 to 50, X offset changed from 42 to 54, Y offset changed from -10 to -68.

These changes will keep Ustrong consistently connecting against grabbed opponents,
but should eliminate the outlandish anti-airs that could occur when performing the move against the chair.


Nair
+ Stale hit lifetime increased from 17 to 18 frames in order to match the animation.
+ Whifflag consequently reduced from 10 to 9 frames. This should matter very little in practice, as the landing lag remains unaffected.


Fair
- Sweetspot knockback reduced from 5 & 1.0 to 5 & 0.95.
- Sourspot knockback reduced from 5 & 0.8 to 5 & 0.75.
- Restructured windows to make whifflag work properly. Whifflag effectively increased from 26 to 30.

A slap on the wrist for a move that felt like it was killing a tiny bit too early.


Uair
- Endlag increased from 13 to 16.


Dair
= Changed SFX on both swipes to feel more in tune with the move.
- Restructured windows to make whifflag work properly. Whifflag effectively increased from 20 to 21.


NSpecial
- Chair Pull now puts the chair on a 14-frame cooldown.

This is a small but significant change meant to keep cool chair combos intact while providing three key nerfs:
1. Eliminate Chair Pull's ability to combo into itself.
2. Reduce the effectiveness of "Chair-guarding", the strategy that involves hovering the chair at ledge to make low recoveries extremely difficult.
3. Widen the window between "flickered" back-to-back Chair Pulls to make each use in neutral more considered.


USpecial
- Adjusted scaling formula to tone down overall KO power while ensuring that it is almost always better to aim for a bigger fall rather than drifting to a higher platform.
New knockback scaling values: 0.95 minimum (landing higher than where you started), 1.11 base (landing at the same height), 1.67 maximum (very top of the screen to fan platform)


Cosmetic
- Added three new alts: Senpu, Kally, and Riptide

Fixed a bug where opponents could airdodge out of Dair's grab
Fixed a bug where hitting a chair on the frame it would be destroyed prevented its destruction
Fixed a bug where hitting an opponent with NSpec's chair projectile could cause the fan platform to spawn
