I somehow forgot to remove the levels, which have not been finished yet in development, from the uploaded content. I removed them now. For all of you who had a little sneak peak, just keep it quiet ;)

After a long time, here it is: The next update. We hope that you will enjoy it.

A lot of things changed since the last update, we got the legendary Neiser to work on this mod for example. Because of this fact, we decided to rework each level again and make it as good as we possibly can. Neiser already reworked the first level completely and I tried my best to integrate his assets in all other levels as well.

This process took a lot of time and so we decided to publish the first six levels within the current update now. In the next update, we will release the fire chapter, but for now, it is not finished yet and we did not want to make you people wait any longer without an update.

Patch
This small update contains a few bug fixes for the following issues:
  • Function for boss health calculation changed, so it will always calculate boss hp for one player with 100% hp and for two or more players with 75% hp per player
  • Stuck processed at the last castle in level "Winter is Coming"
  • Minor changes

Level Loading Issue Fix
Ok, fix is implemented, new workshop object has been created to handle the file size. Make sure to subscribe to it in order to be able to play the campaign.

Here is another update trying to fix the level loading issues. This time, we were able reproduced the error and then implemented the fix and successfully tested it. So hopefully, this will fix all remaining level loading issues. If not, please leave a comment in the discussion section.

Downsight of this fix is that the file size increased massively. We try to improve this in the future.

We also unlocked all levels again for better testing purposes. If you have issues with corrupted save files or missing weapons in the levels, please start a new game from the beginning.

Fix Test
I released this update to try fixing the loading issue for level 7. I have still no idea why this issue occurs, but maybe this update will fix it. If not, I am very sorry about that. I defenetely will investigate further when I have time, but unfortunetely, this will only be the case in the next couple of days. I hope that you will still have fun with this campaign, although you cannot play the latest levels at the moment.

Hotfix
There was an issue with our scripting and file loading, causing dumps when loading a level. Not sure why this occured, we removed the faulty script. Tested with a friend who never had Serious Sam mods before and it worked fine. Hopefully, this fix will work for everyone. If you still have any issues, please tell us.

Major content update
It's been a while since the last update, but here it is right on time for the winter season. The next update for The Sirian Star Reworked is available now. We hope that you will have a lot of fun. Check out the update list to see what's new and give us a feedback ;)

Do not forget to subscribe to newly added workshop object dependencies in order to play the new levels.

The old version of The Sirian Star is not available anymore with this updated, because it caused some file handling issues. We decided to remove it from the workshop to clean it up.

List of changes and updates
  • Completely reworked levels seven, eight and nine with new structures, features, secrets, nasty traps, fights and much more. Go check them out and discover the new levels
  • Reworked weapon placements, secrets and skill point system for all older levels. The reason for this is that the player was too overpowered after a couple of levels. There is no man on earth better than Serious Sam, execpt for one, but melting all enemies with ease is too boring, even for Sam.
  • Locked all levels, so players have to start with the first one. Reason for this is the new skill point system and the reworked weapons. We have to force players to collect them from the beginning to not create a mess with save games, which can cause game crashes. The locking system is our way to go. And players get the chance to play all levels again, isn't that a great thing?
  • Minor changes and bug fixes for the older levels
  • Renamed all levels to make them 142% more cool
  • Cleaned up mod list to only show necessary ones and created mod collection containing neccessary and optional mods to make subscribing easier

Major content update
After a long time, it is finally here. The next update for The Sirian Star Reworked has been released. Some of you waited for this very long, we hope that you will have a lot of fun. Check out the update list to see what's new and give us a feedback ;)

List of changes and updates
  • Completely reworked levels four, five and six with new structures, features, secrets, nasty traps, fights and much more. Go check them out and discover the new levels
  • Introduced cut scenes to all levels. They are VERY cringe, but I cannot do them better ;)
  • Replaced all items with their floating, outlined counterparts for a more classic vibe
  • Added additional enemies to all levels for serious people and coop gameplay to create an extra challenge for those who want it
  • Minor changes and bug fixes for levels one, two and three
  • Singleplayer and coop playtesting to ensure that everything is working as intended (Does not mean that this campaign is free of bugs :D )
  • Removed skill point procedure - That means that skill points are handled the same way as in the original Serious Sam campaign. A player will no longer receive skill points when starting a level directly from the menu and did not play the previous levels. We had a function to give the player missing skill points, but it did not work correctly. Now, the game will save skill points on its own. If you miss some skill points, make sure to complete the previous levels and collect them there
  • Improved internal scripting procedure
  • Improved performance by removing unneccessary vegetation

Additional information
We think that we have a great concept now for reworking the levels mow, but it will take a lot of time to make them as good as possible. The plan is to rework the next levels the same way. Next update will be released when levels seven, eight and nine are ready.

The plan was to wait for Siberain Mayhem workshop update and use enemies, gadgets and much more from there in our own campaign. Unfortunately, we were not able to import those things into Serious Sam 4. We hope that some skilled modder will release a Siberian Mayhem resource pack in the future.

Known issues
This is a list of known issues we were not able to fix in the latest update.
  • When using the ATV in level 3 and switching weapons, the game sometimes crashes. This issue occured in the original campaign, too
  • In coop gameplay, instead of gibbing, Kalopsies will sometimes fly towards one direction for eternity after death on client side
  • In coop gameplay, the boss bar for the boss in level 6 won't be visible for clients
  • In coop gameplay, the boss attack particles in level 6 wont't be visible for the clients sometimes
