FINAL (hopefully) MAJOR UPDATE

- Tweaked Gaara's civ colors

- Tweaked the Shinobi's movement and combat strength, and removed several of its previous abilities. Also made it a Man-At-Arms replacement instead of a unique standalone unit like it was before. (Balance tweaks)

- Tweaked configuration text

- Added a civilopedia entry for Gaara himself

- Multiple Civilopedia tweaks

- Tweaked the war science bonus of the Hidden Sand Village (The bonus used to be that the Campus adjacency bonus and the science of the Campus buildings would double, but this kept causing issues cause the science would explode to something more like +500%.... so I corrected it so that it each city gives +50% extra science output for each constructed Campus building)
- Tweaked Gaara's bonus a bit by adding a bonus for receiving random Inspirations each time he makes an alliance (Gaara when he became Kazekage, tried to emulate Naruto, the one who helped him open up his back-then-darkened-heart to the world... in a sense, he was inspired by Naruto to pursue his path. Add that with the fact that the Sand was essentially one of the Hidden Leaf's closest allies during his reign, and I think this should be natural thing for him to get inspired whenever he successfully makes an alliance.)
- Various tweaks on Gaara's AI behavior to match the updated tweaks I made for his bonuses.
- Several corrections in various configuration texts

- Adjusted the base Housing of the Stucco Buildings from 1 Housing to 2 Housing in an attempt to make it slightly more relevant. (Quite like a "proto-mini-neighborhood", before the actual neighborhoods are accessible)
- Adjusted the configuration text to clarify its immunity to being removed by disasters.
- Corrected some errors in the configuration code for citizen names.

- Adjusted DLC & mod requirements to a minimum of requiring only Rise & Fall and Gathering Storm, and merged geography names in a way that is compatible with other mods.

- Realtered DLC requirements back to the previous standards

This is a temporary solution, but I had to cross something in the code out to both apply this and prevent errors. I have a solution to make them both work without cranking up the DLC requirements too much, but that will take time to apply, and I don't want to keep you waiting, because I understand too well your position in how it feels not being able to play this mod, so I wanted to push this as quickly as possible. Expect another update coming soon however, as soon as I have fully applied the real solution I am looking for.

- Significantly nerfed the Shinobi:

  • Gave the shinobi unit a -17 combat strength penalty when attacking cities. (Not battling to be clear, meaning they do not face this penalty from defending from ranged city strikes.)
  • The combat strength of the shinobi was originally 55 (50 for ranged strength); it has now been lowered to 45 and 40 respectively. (I based that combat strength on the average chunin shinobi, such as Ebisu & Iruka. Following feedback and further testing even after applying that penalty to attacking walled cities, I have confirmed that it was indeed too OP, since this unit had the potential to shoot as high as 110 or 120, adding that walls can't protect your cities from these monstrous units. The current combat strength of the shinobi unit is now based on average genin-level shinobi, such as Shippuden-era Konohamaru & Part I Naruto. I swear, trying to translate power scaling from shounen anime into a well-balanced Civ 6 mod function while trying to stay authentic to the source material is difficult *sigh*)
  • Significantly increased the Shinobi's accumulation of Great General points per kill, as +2 GGP per kill was pretty much worthless and almost the same as getting no GGP per kill at all.

- Fixed an error regarding the extra science from Campuses when at war, as previously, that bonus kept staying around even after a war ended, unintentionally turning Gaara into another Korea.

- Added custom music for the Hidden Sand Village. (See the custom music section in the mod's description for info)

- Fixed a bug preventing Gaara's easter egg dialogue from displaying whenever he gets Civilized as his second agenda.

- Fixed a bug in Gaara's voiced Civilopedia quote that when played, did not stop playing even when opening another Civilopedia page or closing the Civilopedia.

- Fixed a bug that prevented the Zulu palace from displaying when playing as the Zulu with the Hidden Sand Village mod enabled.
