A Rim Reborn - Core v0.3.0 (Beta)

Updated for RimWorld 1.4 and Biotech compatibility:

  • [NEW] Added the Glamour Table, a small and simple crafting table for cosmetic apparel.
  • Moved all racial apparel to the Glamour Table to clean up the bill list for regular tailoring tables.
  • Overhauled the textures for the Aetheric Prep Table and Aetheric Tailoring Table (both regular and linked versions) to be more visually distinct from other aetheric workbenches.
  • Overhauled the graphics and animation for the default Aetheryte.
  • Reworked Aetherytes and Anima Pendants so that individual pendants no longer need to be recharged; now Aetherytes themselves have an anima reserve that is fueled with Crystal Sand. Colonists still receive anima drain after using Return or Teleport.
  • Reworked the cost and market value of Crystal Sand.
  • Implemented the ability for entire caravans to Teleport to a destination so long as they share a common attuned Aetheryte, no one has anima drain, and there are no prisoners or pack animals in the caravan.
  • [NEW] Added the Hauberk, a set of medium armor that is heavier than a cuirass but can still be worn under outerwear.
  • Added a feature that allows the knit cap, pointed hat, and pot helm to not hide hair, even when Show Hair With Hats or Dub's Apparel Tweaks is not installed. This feature disables itself if either of the aforementioned mods is detected.
  • Simplified and fixed crafting recipes for aetheric weapons to prevent wooden swords from appearing.
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes two potions would be consumed when loose potions were used.
  • [NEW] Added Antidotes, alchemical potions that reduce toxic buildup and bolster toxic resistance. Antidotes have three separate recipes and can be crafted from cobra corpses, Matron's mistletoe, or toxipotatoes (Biotech only).
  • Increased the effectiveness of healing potions.
  • [NEW] Implemented the Eccentric Projectiles v3.0 effects library. This is an internal library that is used for custom projectiles, visual effects, and animations. You can find an Eccentric Projectiles section in your mod settings that can be used to throttle effects if there is too much visual clutter or performance overhead late-game.
  • Reworked visual effects for imbued projectiles, potions, Celestial Accumulators, and Aetheric Links.
  • (Ideology) Implemented an Eorzean culture and place definition to improve randomly generated ideoligions for Eorzean factions.

A Rim Reborn - Core v0.2.0 ("Aetheric Transmissions")

  • (New) A Rim Reborn - Lalafell Race has been released! Excellent at working with flora and fauna, the diminuitive lalafell are a peaceful but hardy race that can be found living throughout Eorzea, but mostly in the regions of Vylbrand and Thanalan, to where they migrated from south seas isles.
  • (New) Added Aetheric Transmission research project, which unlocks aether networks.
  • (New) Added Aetheric Link building, a new device that wirelessly connects accumulators and aetheric devices, allowing them to be directly powered instead of using aether crystals.
  • (New) Added Aetheric Crafting Table (Linked) and Aetheric Prep Table (Linked), variants of the basic crafting tables that can accept networked aether and thus do not need to expend aether crystals directly when used.
  • (New) Added Aetheric Thermostat, a more powerful temperature control device that is capable of heating or freezing rooms. Can be overcharged, using up to twice the aether and increasing the amount of heat or refrigeration it generates.
  • (New) Added Celestial Accumulator, an advanced accumulator that draws energy from celestial currents around the planet and condenses it into ice, lightning, or wind crystals.
  • (New) Added Aetheroelectricity research project, which unlocks the Electrical Accumulator and Lightning Generator.
  • (New) Added Aetheric Machining Table for manufacturing firearms and crystal sand. Only capable of accepting aether via links.
  • (New) Added Aetheric Double Pistol, a medium-range two-shot aetheric firearm favored by pirates and authorities alike in Limsa Lominsa.
  • (New) Added Aetheric Fabrication research project, which unlocks the production of basic industrial Components at the Aetheric Machining Table. Aetheric fabrication takes longer and is less resource-efficient than industrial fabrication, but is more easily unlocked.
  • (New) Added Aetheric Tailoring Table and Linked variant for crafting apparel.
  • (New) Added Knit Cap, a warm hat made from cloth or wool and suited to cold weather.
  • (New) Added Pointed Hat, a tough hat made from leather or fur that protects one from the sun and elements.
  • (New) Added Pot Helm and Glamoured Pot Helm, a light leather helmet.
  • (New) Added Sallet and Glamoured Sallet, a heavy metal helmet.
  • Rebalanced all aether crystal costs and generation rates.
  • Moved all A Rim Reborn-specific buildings and designators to their own Architect tab. (Aether)
  • Improved the underlying code for all aether-fueled buildings. Note: existing aether-powered buildings will be emptied of fuel on loading saves.
  • Improved textures for the Lightning Accumulator, Geothermal Accumulator, and Aetheric Crafting and Prep Tables.
  • Reworked aetheric floor lamps. There is now just a single stuffable floor lamp of each style that can be reconfigured to use different aspected aether crystals and emit light consistent with its aspect. Existing floor lamps may cause one-time errors and be missing on load.
  • Reworked Anima Pendants. Attunement is now a property of individual colonists, who can now attune to any number of aetherytes and retain their attunements if they lose or change anima pendants. Existing attunements have been lost and will need to be redone.
  • The Attune button for Anima Pendants has been removed. To order a colonist to attune to an aetheryte, simply select them, right click on the aetheryte, and select the appropriate attunement option.
  • Aetherytes can now be named. Custom aetheryte names will show up in a colonist's Teleport menu when using an Anima Pendant.
  • Fixed recipes for meals synthesized with aether crystals to properly handle ingredients with non-standard nutrition values, such as eggs.
  • Increased range of Aetheric Carbine slightly.
  • The Eorzean knife, aetheric falchion, and aetheric double pistol are now usable with Vanilla Expanded shields.
