Patch 2.8.4
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the event-chain exclusive Glass Monument vanilla building from existing in a Metropolis holding.
  • Fixed minor graphical bug related to the Metropolis holding's walls map model.
  • Slightly improved the 1st stage for some of the Metropolis unique buildings.
  • Adjusted the total cost for a few Metropolis unique building so that pretty much all the building chains matches the price it was before the split.
  • The 1st stage for the Metropolis unique buildings now requires the 2nd Metropolis holding level (City) upgrade, instead of the 4th level (Metropolis I) like previously.
  • Added a Metropolis holding to Lahore/Lahur for the 1066 start.
  • Replaced the holding icon for the Metropolis holding in the county view interface. Inspired by DeMD, the Metropolis holding now uses the Curtain Walls icon instead of the vanilla Castle holding icon.

Patch 2.8.2
  • Game Rule "COW2: Metropolis Domain Limit" was renamed to "COW2: Metropolis Buildings"
  • Added two new settings to the Game Rule "COW2: Metropolis Buildings". Both allows you to disable the Metropolis unique buildings feature entirely in two different ways, with "Player Restricted" being the recommended method of the two.
  • Removed the extraordinary high gold for the 4th upgrade stage for the Metropolis holdings. It now costs the same as the other Metropolis holding upgrades. The AI will now be more capable of upgrading the Metropolis holdings.
  • Might require resubscribing for update to apply.

  • Added new Game Rule named COW2: Metropolis Domain Limit, which allows you to adjust the newly added domain limit for Metropolises. (Patch 2.8.0)

Patch 2.8.0
  • You can no longer hold more than 3 Metropolis holdings in your personal domain. If you hold more than 3 then all of the Metropolis unique buildings will be disabled.
  • All the Metropolis unique buildings now requires at least 25 county development for them to be buildable.
  • Nerfed the development growth provided by the base Metropolis building chain.
  • Restricted some of the Metropolis-type fortifications so they cannot be stacked in some of the provinces with historical Fortresses (for example Antioch, London and Granada). If they have already has been built, they will be disabled.
  • Removed the education effect fix applied for both Metropolis and vanilla universities. This had to be done for increased compatibility for future Paradox patches. If you want the fix to apply to the universities added in COW2, you should use COW2-University Fix.
  • Removed remaining placeholder code from the removed holding conversion system.

Patch 2.7.7
  • Your culture must now have the City Planning innovation to use any of the found/convert Metropolis decisions.
  • Tweaked some of the other requirements for the found Metropolis decision.
  • Added player event for when another ruler founds a Metropolis via the major decisions.
    (No event for the minor decision).
  • AI rulers now have access to pretty much all the features in COW2.

Hotfix 2.7.6
  • Removed the effects file for the previously removed fix for the Empower Sicilian Parliament decision, which was no longer necessary since Paradox have fixed the decision in v1.1.1.
  • Might require resubscribing for it to apply.
  • Should be the final hotfix unless something very critical is discovered.
Hotfix 2.7.5
  • Removed the interface file for the disabled holding conversion system.
Hotfix 2.7.4
  • Fixed major performance issue. The holding conversion system added in 2.7.0 has been removed for now. It was functional, but Paradox changed something in their 1.1.1 patch that caused issues with it.
  • The legacy "Convert Holding to Metropolis" decision is now enabled by default.
