Small continents and islands. This map is largely about risk vs. reward. Snow is abundant, farmland less so. Head to the equator if you want warmth.

Tundra, snow, and ice make up the majority of the world, but plains, grasslands, and desert are present around the equator.

Snow areas have the most hills, copper, fish, crabs, and whales, but lack strategic resources until late game. Settling and defending these areas will be much more difficult, but highly rewarding in late stages of the game as they contain the absolute majority of oil and uranium.

Warmer areas provide more early game resources and food, but are more susceptible to natural disasters.

The small islands are some of the best places to settle so don't forget about shipbuilding.

Peter and Kupe are powerhouse leaders on this map due to tundra abundance and island settlement strength respectively. Play one of them if you want an easier game or against them if you want more of a challenge.
