Dev Notes: This week I added lots of stuff for the USSR / Russia. Essentially I give the user a choice to play the historic pathway or to embark on a second Russian civil war. The user can stay with the USSR if they wish or they can join the leader they have selected.


Historical Plausibility:
The historical plausibility isn't great, but I would point out that it does have an albeit tenuous precedent. The American civil war was preceded by a weak leader (Buchanan) failing to act to stop the cession of the then few states that had left the union. In the time between when Buchanan was succeeded by Lincoln, more states left the union and US forces either joined them or were cut off. When Lincoln finally took office, the war was initiated as a result of his attempt to supply Ft. Sumpter.

In the scenario I have constructed, an assassin detonates a bomb in the supreme soviet council. This wipes out most of the senior leadership and creates a power vacuum. In the intervening time prior to a soviet leader emerging, the user selected leader of Russia lands in Vladivostok and marches westward.

Whether you consider it plausible or not I hope you enjoy it.

Dev Notes:
This update focuses on Hungary. Up to now, none of the Balkan countries have received any additional focuses. I plan to change that. The other bits of content for the 5 or 6 countries listed above mostly go to extending flavor or shortening focuses by adding additional focuses. I realize that people hate the long focuses and so by adding focuses, I can shorten the longer ones.

Dev Notes:
Most of my modding time this week went to fixing the 1.6.1 compatibility issues. I also included some of the other stuff in that update. That said, this is a small update.

I have two or three countries that want to give my attention to now that Turkey is more interesting. I wish that I had analytics access to see what countries players play that don't have extended focus trees. It would give me a better idea of the effort/benefit ratio for creating focus trees. Any suggestions are welcome.

There were a few unresolved bugs from 1.6.1 that I hadnt seen yet. Update should have fixed all the game breaking/CTD update incompatabilities.
