Version 1.3.1
Minor bugfix.

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed an issue where Draining Slash was failing to apply Bleeding and Exposed if the target did not already have a stack of exposed.

Other Improvements:
  • Reduced file size by cleaning-up some back end files.

Update: Jul 4, 2018 @ 12:54pm

Version 1.3.0
This patch addresses issues with disparity of damage between both Order and Chaos forms, as well as the inconsistency with damage in the tooltips. Certain skills have had minor damage buffs/nerfs to better match-up with the basegames balance state.

Balance Improvements:

  • Chaos Form now no longer deals extra Chaos damage on-hit. As of the current iteration of the Engine, there is no reliable method to replace a weapons' damage type, but should this be introduced I will change the basic attack damage type to 100% Chaos whilst in Chaos Form.
  • All Order and Chaos skills now scale evenly with points in Warfare, meaning players can now pump points into Warfare without leaving Chaos Forms' damage in the dust.
    • I will update my the build document to reflect this important change.
    • If you already have an Umbra character and wish to reallocate points, either use the Respec Mirror on the Lady Vengeance in Act 2, alternatively, if you are in Act 1 / Fort Joy, download the Fort Joy Respec Mod and use that instead.
  • Draining Slash and Abolish Resistance now deal ~5% less damage.
  • Daggerfang and Shadowfang's base damage increased by ~15%, but now deal their damage divided amongst the two targets (as a result of a bug fix).
  • Cutthroat and Spite the Vein now deal ~10% less damage.
  • Fading is now resisted by Magic Armour, similar to Bleeding.

Bug Fixes:
  • Umbra skills which are generally the same across Order and Chaos forms, such as Daggerfang and Shadowfang, now deal exactly the same damage.
  • Fixed an issue where the tooltips for Chaos Form skills had inflated damage numbers. Note: with this, you'll notice the tooltips are slightly different, i.e. now state "...deals X-Y physical damage as chaos damage..." but this was the only way to workaround the number inflammation.
  • Fixed an issue where Daggerfang and Shadowfang would deal ~50% more damage than intended if the user was Dual-Wielding and selected a single target with both dagger projectiles.

Other Improvements:
  • Cleaned up various minor tooltip formatting errors.

Version 1.2.5
Minor improvement to the respec mirror.

Other Improvements:

  • Umbra respec mirror can now be used at any level. PLEASE NOTE: experience progress will be lost upon respec-ing (this is because there doesn't seem to be a way to retrieve player exp and grant exp in the API)

Update: Jun 16, 2018 @ 11:48pm

Version 1.2.4
Minor patch with a small bugfix/workaround for an issue with Way of the Umbra not always activating on the first turn of battle.

Balance Improvements:

  • Resourcefulness and Source of Ferocity no longer grant Physical / Magic Armour. They now instead reset the cooldowns of all non-Elite Umbra skills, making it a more desireable spell to use. Shoutout to JustcallmeSoul for the suggestion!

Bug Fixes:
  • Implemented a fix where Way of the Umbra would sometimes not trigger if the player began combat from stealth prior to the battle. If the issue still persists, the game should now refund the cooldown and cost if the skill is used and the stance does not successfully change.

Other Improvements:
  • Cleaned-up the tooltip for Resourcefulness by removing an unintended character.

Version 1.2.3
Minor patch with some small buffs to Elite skills, as well as a couple of cleaner icon changes.

Balance Improvements:

  • Umbral Leech now also applies Hasted for 2 turns, and has had its cooldown increased from 2 to 3 turns to compensate.
  • Reduced Umbral Cloak's cooldown from 4 turns to 3 turns.
  • Reduced Umbral Blood's AP cost from 2 to 1.

Other Improvements:
  • Improved the icons for Source and non-Source Umbra skillbooks to better differentiate them from Scoundrel books.
  • Improved the wording on the Challenge skills to make them thematically better.
  • Tweaked the colour on Way of the Umbra's skill icon to better match other Elite skills.

Update: May 30, 2018 @ 11:09am

Version 1.2.2
I got my thinking-cap on and was able to program an important change: Invisibility-granting Umbra skills now no longer remove every form of Invisible at the end of the turn. This will also work for other mod's Invisibility granting skills.

Balance Improvements:

  • Master of Chaos's execute threshold is now 20%.

Bug Fixes:
  • Should have fixed an issue where some characters who learnt Daggerfang after learning Cutthroat weren't able to switch its form.
  • Fixed an issue where using an Umbra Invisibility skill before combat would remove any stealth at the end of the first turn.
  • Corrected an issue with the Challenge of the Blade and Challenge of the Shade status names.

Other Improvements:
  • Invisibility-granting Umbra skills now no longer remove every form of Invisible at the end of the turn.
  • Changed the colour on the Elite skill icons so they are easier to differentiate between normal Umbra skills.

Update: May 28, 2018 @ 9:38pm

Version 1.2.1
Minor bug fixes and slight adjustments to the Elite skills added in yesterday's patch.

Balance Improvements:

  • Daggerfall and Chaos Crash deal slightly less damage.
  • Master of Chaos now deals slightly more damage.
  • Umbral Leech now grants Vampiric Hunger for 1 turn instead of 2, but has a short 2-turn cooldown.
  • Umbral Expertise now also grants 4 Initiative for its duration.

Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed and issue where Nerve Slash's Rupture Tendons was not dealing damage to enemies.
  • Restored the correct 3SP cost for Master of Chaos.

Version 1.2.0
Last update today I promise!

To remedy some issues with the changes to Invisibility I made earlier today (for balancing reasons), I have added four new 'Elite' skills, one for each of Novice, Adept, Master, and Divine tiers. Elite skills do not have multiple forms and their cooldowns are not reset by Way of the Umbra. They have highly valuable Utility for the Umbra to make use of.

New Skills:

  • Umbral Cloak (Elite Skill): Grants the user Invisibility for 1 turn. This is not removed at the end of the turn like other Umbra Invisibility effects.
  • Umbral Blood (Elite Skill): Grants the user Death Resist for 1 turn.
  • Umbral Leech (Elite Skill): Grants the user Vampiric Hunger for 2 turns, healing 50% of any direct-to-vitality damage you deal.
  • Umbral Expertise (Elite Skill): Grants the user Umbral Expertise, increase Scoundrel by 4 for 2 turns, which in turn increases your Movement and Critical Multiplier.

These skills can be found in the skill chest on the beach (maybe only to new saves) and Ezuri sells them as he would other skills.

Enjoy!

Version 1.1.0
A medium-sized patch with a few new features, i.e. a respec item, as well as core balancing changes to Invisibilty.

Balance Updates:

  • The Invisibility granted by Way of the Umbra and Retreat Into Shadow now only lasts until the end of the turn.
    • This is a hard choice but it needed to be done. With the easy access to Invisibiity on Way of the Umbra, players could stay Invisible for a very long time, without risk from taking damage. Players could become Invisible for 4-rounds using just those two skills.
    • However, as a result of this, it is now far more balanced to introduce more Invisibility-granting skills and effects without worrying about the cooldown reset from Way of the Umbra. This will further improve the stealthy design philosophy behind this class.
    • Umbra's inherent Invisibility is now used only for new effects and increased damage, and cannot be used to sit in for 2 turns to essentially become immune.
    • If the AI is ever changed to be able to deal with Invisible units, I can add back the multi-turn stealth again.
  • Resourcefulness and Source of Ferocity now grant Invisibilty until the end of the turn.
  • Preemptive Tactics now grants Invisibility until the end of the turn.
  • Bouncing Blade / Divergent Dagger, Daggerfang / Shadowfang, and Swift Strikes / Tumultuous Strikes now deal an additional 25% damage if used from stealth.
  • Increased the damage of Blade Flurry by ~15%.

New Features:
  • Added a 'Respec Mirror' onto Fort Joy beach, allowing any Level 1 character to start with the Umbra preset. All credit goes to Helaene for this feature.

Bug Fixes:
  • Restored the AP cost of Preemptive Tactics.
