Описание
Civilization focuses on adding 223 new sound effects to cities, villages, farms and remote locations where civilization is present. In cities, you can hear the sound of a hammer being used by a villager repairing something, children playing, dogs barking or cats fighting. As you get closer to a tavern doorstep, the sounds of patron chatting from behind the door are played. When you get in, some patron may laugh out loud, yell or break something.

On farms or near them, you can hear the sounds of their animals, if they have any. Most of those sound effects can be heard inside buildings too, linking the interior cells with the exterior. If I take the farm example, you may hear the hen if you sit close to the window. If it’s raining, you’ll hear the rain hitting the windows; if there’s a snowstorm, you’ll hear the cold wind whistling by the windows.

If you find that some sounds are out of place or "over the top", there's an in-game configuration utility that you can use to disable each group of sounds individually. Like tavern shouts or city crowds.

There are more sound effects than what has been described above. Refer to the readme for the full soundlist.

2017-02-05 Announcement

As most of you have been aware, I tend to come and go in modding. This time, after losing my work on the long, long overdue updates to Sounds of Skyrim, I will stop working on them for good. The lack of motivation to modding Skyrim in general and the fact that I'd have to start again doesn't make me want to continue the updates. This is why from today, I allow anyone to make updates, add-ons and patches or even to port it to Skyrim Legendary Edition if someone wants to do so. As long as I am credited as the author and that the the list of sound credits is included in the mod, feel free to re-release Sounds of Skyrim as you see fit. If you have questions on how I made the SOS patches to make it compatible with lighting mods and other cell-editing mods, let me know.

It has been a lot of fun working on the project, and I'll never forget the night when I went to sleep after releasing the Dungeons and having a hundred downloads and waking up the next day and seeing it in the thousands, growing every hour. What an excitement! I'll also never forget how Civilization brought pain and suffering as the infamous snoring corrupted your save games. It did help the modding community to learn more about how a simple scripting mistake can cause serious issues.

Sounds of Skyrim has been an adventure I'll never forget and I hope you, the players, will continue to keep interest in sound-related mods like the excellent Audio Overhaul Skyrim and Immersive Sounds (and others I'm sure I missed while I was away). I wish you the best in Skyrim!

By the way, this is not a goodbye from modding in general. I'm still working from time to time on my Oblivion projects.

What is Sounds of Skyrim?
======================

Sounds of Skyrim is an audio project split in three parts that, in the end, adds around 460+ sound effects to the game world. It affects almost every cell and region in the game. My main goal is to not have one environment that is soundless to enhance immersion. The sounds are affected by the time of day, weather and location. So when walking in the city streets during the day, you'll hear the echo of doors opening and closing, children playing and workers sawing things. While at night, cats fight for territory and dogs bark.

All modules have been released and can be obtained on the Workshop (See below for download links)

The other main feature is being able to hear the outside from the inside. If you get close to windows inside buildings, you’ll hear what’s going on outside. If you’re in a wilderness cabin on a rainy day, you’ll hear the rain’s impact on the wooden roof. If you’re in the entrance of a cave and look outside, you’ll hear the birds and other animals outside going about their lives.

All sounds can be heard from inside if you’re in a building where you can hear them. For instance, if you’re in a farm in the wilderness at night, you’ll hear the farm animals present, wolves howling, owls, crickets and other nightlife animals.

Finally, this mod would never have been possible without the contribution of many sound recorders and artists from Freesound.org. There’s a file in the archive with the credits for everyone who made the sounds. A HUGE thanks to them, otherwise the sounds would not have been as high quality as they are.

Upgrading Sounds of Skyrim - Civilization (Version 1.0 Only
===============================================

Upgrading from version 1.0

If you had a save that used Civilization’s 1.0 version and that was cursed with bloat introduced by the mod, there is a way to repair your save:

Using Skyrim Script Extender (Recommended):
- Download/Update Skyrim Script Extender from SKSE's page: http://skse.silverlock.org/
- Uninstall Sounds of Skyrim – Civilization
- Open the console and type ClearInvalidRegistrations. You will see a message telling how many reports it found and removed. You must give it some time to work though, so play the game for a few minutes and make a new save.
- If everything has been done correctly, you should notice that your new save weighs less than your previous one. (Only if your previous save had bloat from version 1.0, that is)
- Install Sounds of Skyrim – Civilization as instructed above. No more bloat!

FAQ
====

Q: The sounds in the videos are too loud or/and the delay between them is too short.
A: This was done in purpose in the videos. The higher volumes allows you to distinguish them from the default sounds and the frequency allows you to hear as many sounds as possible to give a nice preview of what the mod does. In the game, the volume is much lower and the sounds do not play frequently.

Q: I do not like 'that or this' sound. What can I do?
A: There's an in-game configuration utility that starts when you first launch Civilization that allows you to disable or re-enable groups of sounds.

Q: Does Sounds of Skyrim decreases performance?
A: No. The way the new sounds play is the same way the game's default sounds are played.

While to other two SoS mods are fantastic and add tenfold to immersion, this makes cities feel less immersive imo. The looping background chatter feels off in almost every town for the amount of NPCs that actually roam around, and a lot of the new sound effects just feel incredibly forced and out-of-place - I'm noticing them every time much more than I feel I should, and then I'm immediately reminded "hey there's that new sound pack again" which pulls me out of the immersion.

Love all the sound mods, can't play without them installed anymore. There is a very annoying loop in the town sounds though which sounds like a computer blip at the tail end and not sure which sound set of the selectable sets is doing it. I rarely restart at Helgen so the reset is a no-no, I'm too deep in my mods lists to even try when they are loading good. Other that that it's perfection, god, bless! Stay healthy everyone!
