Less Eternal Nocturnal Oath [SPOILER]

Descrizione
Changes the "Trinity Restored" quest so that you no longer need to sign your eternal soul over to a Daedra in order to progress.

We've all been there. One moment you're stealing a ring in a marketplace, the next you're garbed in mythical armour and swearing your eternal soul over to a Daedra. What happened? Where did it all go wrong? Will you at least be able to ogle Karliah when you're wandering the dusty halls of the Twilight Sepulchre forever with nothing else to do?

To put it simply, I thought it was stupid that you need to pledge eternal ghostly servitude to Nocturnal in order to progress in the Thieves' Guild questline. So stupid that I threw this little plugin together.

What this plugin does:
* Changes the dialogue that takes place within the Nightingales' Cave to remove references to posthumous/spiritual servitude. (This was achieved solely by truncating existing dialogue and, in one case, changing a player's available response in a conversation.)

What this plugin DOES NOT do:
* Allow you to skip the "Trinity Restored" quest.
* Allow you to get through the Thieves' Guild questline without making an oath of any kind to Nocturnal. (You still have to pledge to defend the Sepulchre when it's attacked, just not after your death.)
* Make any changes to the game other than altering dialogue strings and replacing one audio file with a truncated version.

Ultimately, this plugin is pretty pointless. I made it to alter something that irked me personally. That's literally all. It just changes the fluff of the quest, that's it. You will get absolutely nothing out of this unless you too are annoyed by the assumption that your character is prepared to spend the rest of time as some ghost in a temple just because you're a thief.

MOD CONFLICTS: Anything else that alters the quest "Trinity Restored", presumably.

***From what I could tell, there are no other references to you having signed your soul over to Thief Jesus in the rest of the game. I'm pretty sure it's only referenced in this one quest. If anyone finds otherwise, point me to the offending dialogue and I'll release a new version.***

What I meant to say was thanks for the mod.

Just hit this point in the story, and it's even dumber than the first time I saw it. Not only does the dragonborn defeat demigods quite regularly, but even if not there is NO WAY they would offer up eternal servitude to Nocturnal. I've been to Sovngarde! The first time I walked away from the entire quest as ridiculous.

Bethesda really has a problem with some writers not understanding agency.

It's a very stupid quest indeed.. like the Dragonborn needs the help of Nocturnal or being a nightingale to defeat Mercer.. come on! The player can defeat dragon gods of legend, vampire master with hundreds of years and the first dragonborn.. but needs to pledge his soul to an minor daedra just to have "enough" of an edge to defeat Mercer.. simplly bs.

I love this mod. Can you make a version on Bethesda .net, so that I can add it to Skyrim Special Edition? Thanks in advance. :)

I always keep a few excess dragon souls around, to use to cover such debts. Once I absorb them, they are technically my souls, so if I owe a soul they're a fair trade.

I like this mod. I am playing as a vampire, so I've been dead for centuries. Don't have to do anything after you die.

Hey question, Will this get a Xbox port? i hate having to do this quest tbh, but with this mod it made it less annoying.

I'd prefer to keep souls and afterlives as far away from my story as possible, barring some nice ghostly horror, so this mod is a breath of fresh air to me. It may not affect gameplay, and it may well be easy enough to headcanon lines of dialogue away, but not having to hear them at all goes a long way with immersing you.

Definately consdering this. I did the Thieves Guild Questline once then refused to do it again after that because of that reason.. I didn't like the idea that my Dragonborn would be denyed her place in Sovengarde because she has to be trapped for all eternity. This might get me to do the quests again, because it was good, I just hated the ending.

Also, does this have any known bugs/glitches?

Nice but Nocturnal still says at the end ''Your fate waits you in the Evergloam''. Would be nice if you update the mod and remove that line.
