How to disable/re-enable mic in Borderlands
By Softshine798
Since Gearbox didn't provide a bind to enable/disable speaking, you either have to have the mic always on or always off. Today I will show you how to disable and re-enable.

Step 1: Find your Borderlands folder
This one is pretty simple. Go find your steam folder, and then find your Borderlands folder. For me, it's
This PC > New Volume (D:) > Steam > steamapps > common > Borderlands
Step 2: Go into BaseEngine.ini
After you find the Borderlands folder, you have to find your "BaseEngine.ini" folder (without the quotation marks. The path should be
This PC > New Volume (D:) > Steam > steamapps > common > Borderlands > Engine > Config
Step 3: Alter your bHasVoiceEnabled scipt
After you go into your BaseEngine.ini file, go to the very bottom of the file and search for the "VoIP" section. Under there, find
bHasVoiceEnabled=true
. Replace "true" with "false". Your mic should be disabled in Borderlands. Do keep in mind, that you can always re-enable the mic by changing the "false" with "true"

This is how your BaseEngine.ini file should look when you try to find bHasVoiceEnabled=true

DISCLAIMER: IF YOU DO THIS, YOUR RESOLUTION WILL BECOME 640x480! YOU CAN CHANGE THE RESOLUTION BACK TO WHAT YOU DESIRE WHEN YOU LAUNCH THE GAME.
Finished!
Thanks for reading this guide, hope it helps!
