This mod is no longer being supported
Sorry guys, I can't keep lieing to myself and to you all. I don't have the time or the drive to keep working on this mod. I kept telling myself that I would update it, but I just never get around to it. I no longer play ark so I don't really have the motivation to keep this mod updated. With the current state of the mod, results may vary. I've heard that it works for some people and that it doesn't for others. The source code for the mod is available at the bottom of this page for anyone that wants to continue this project or for anyone that wants to check it out. Feel free to use it and post it as your own mod, just give me a credit spot on the page somewhere. Sorry that I've abandonded this project and have let some people down. I hope you all the best and keep enjoying the game.

What is Passive Protection?
Passive Protection does exactly what it sounds like it does. Protects your passive dinos. No need to craft or do anything special. Just walk up to your dino and set it to passive. A timer will appear at the dinos feet. When the timer runs out your dino becomes immune to damage.

Mod features
  • When dinos are set to passive they become protected, or immune to damage, after some time.
  • If you ride the protected dino, they become vulnerable until dismounted, then a timer will start until it is imune to damage again.
  • Protected dinos cannot be picked up by flyers.
  • When a dino becomes protected, all inventory items except food and equiped saddles are dropped onto the floor.
  • Customize the duration of the delay timer. Or remove it completely!
  • Clean and stackable mod, Protected Passives should work with any other mod you may have installed. If you find a mod that has issues with this mod, please include it in the Incompatible Mods discusion so I can work on making them compatible.

Admin Commands
cheat ScriptCommand ProtectedPassives reset
  • Removes all the Protected Passives buffs on the server, then re-adds the buffs to all players. The buff then spreads from the players to each tribe dino, working the exact same as uninstalling the mod and reinstalling the mod, but now you can just use this command instead.

@MrBazibaz, unless something has changed since I used it last, "wandering" dinos lose their protection unless you add the below to the server gameusersettings.ini file

I have an issue on my server where our dinos put to wander while ghost mode will dissapear,
i know the mod is discontinued, but does anyone know how to fix it?

I understand your reasons though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sorry to see this get abandoned, its an absolute necessity! ;) I hope someone picks it up... I'm completely lost in the dev kit or I'd love to do it myself.

@Torbold Hi, thanks for the work. I have a simple question: if OnlyProtectEmptyInventory is set to True, will the food count as inventory item? I mean, a dino with food can be protected if I have:
...
KeepInventoryItems=false
OnlyProtectEmptyInventory=true
...

In my config?

@Ralph Yes and no, it works if the baby is at full health. Or if you have IgnoreHealth=true in your ini settings.

i have not yet added this but have come back to peek at it several times. Its just such a good idea, well done sir. Redoing some of our severs completly ,mod wise so have to always relook at some the best mod (like yours) and at all the new ones since we did this last. Alot our players are Eu and have issues with load times so we have to be picky as hell more often than we like and really enjoy voting on stuff:)
But this boils down to i may have lost the vote to add this but still think its an amazing idea for a mod and wanted to show you the respect of coming back to add it to favorates and give it a thumbs up.
Ours severs are amazing! i would totally tell you about each, but i trully think its rude to do so in a modders comment space (you know who you are), Many players i know are judging both modders and players (invites/whitelist/friends) are taking such matters more seriously and there is a real chance of losing some great player/groups you would have otherwide kept.
