100% Guide by The Horror Network

Introduction

Note: There have been look-a-like copycat guides popping up. If it's not labeled by THN (The Horror Network), it's NOT one of mine and therefore not up to the quality that I aim to provide.

Welcome to the DOOM 3: BFG Edition achievement guide.

IMPORTANT:

Do not, at any point, press the F12 key in-game. This causes the console to open, and renders achievements unattainable. If you have done this, you can find a fix HERE. However, to avoid the trouble of doing such, and to avoid wondering if your next achievement will pop, just don't do it.

The best course of action to gain ultimate completion is to go through the game twice. You'll need to anyway to unlock Nightmare difficulty (unless you use THIS guide, but it's not advisable). On your first playthrough, focus on taking your time, enjoying the game, and collecting all of the collectibles. Your second playthrough should focus on Nightmare difficulty, and the speedrun that must be completed in under 10 hours.

For collectibles, we will be using THIS great and concise video guide.

You will also need TWO boosting partners.

Defeat the Vagary boss in DOOM 3
Story related, cannot be missed.

Cookie Stealer
Defeat Guardian boss in DOOM 3
Story related, cannot be missed.

You're Not My Boss!
Defeat Sabaoth boss in DOOM 3
Story related, cannot be missed.

Big Boy
Defeat Cyberdemon boss in DOOM 3
Story related, cannot be missed.

Difficulty Related

DOOMed Recruit
Complete the DOOM 3 single player campaign on Recruit
Complete the campaign on the required difficulty. Achievements stack.

DOOMed Marine
Complete the DOOM 3 single player campaign on Marine
Complete the campaign on the required difficulty. Achievements stack.

DOOMed Veteran
Complete the DOOM 3 single player campaign on Veteran
Complete the campaign on the required difficulty. Achievements stack.

DOOMed Nightmare
Complete the DOOM 3 single player campaign on Nightmare
You will need to complete the campaign on another difficulty at least once to unlock Nightmare difficulty. You will then need to play through the game again on this mode. In Nightmare, you will start the game with the Soul Cube already in your inventory. You will also lose 5 HP every few seconds until you reach 25 HP, at which point it will stay until you gain more health, but will then continue to drain.

Kill Related

Unarmed Bad a s s
Kill 20 enemies with the fists/melee hands in DOOM 3
Best suited for Recruit difficulty. It can be completed on the first mission, just simply kill 20 enemies with your fists.

Ripped!
Use the chainsaw to kill 20 enemies in DOOM 3
You will get your first chainsaw at Communications. Eviscerate 20 enemies with it.

Soulfood
Use the Soul Cube to defeat 20 enemies in DOOM 3
You'll get this after defeating the Guardian boss, or you start with it if you're on Nightmare difficulty. It one shots most enemies, so it should be easy enough to get this achievement.

Double the Fun!
Kill 2 Imps with one shotgun blast in DOOM 3, RoE, or Lost Mission
Not hard, just tricky. It may be better to do this with the Super Shotgun. Find two Imps that are close together, or try to get them close to each other, and chip away at their health with the pistol. after 4-5 hits each, pull out the shotty and blast them. Best make a save for retry attempts.

Collectibles

Goody Finder
Open all storage lockers in DOOM 3

Multiplayer

Online is dead. You will need a boosting partner.

Clean Sheet
Complete a DOOM 3 Multiplayer match without dying
Simply run out the timer without your boosting partner killing you.

Ninja Killer
Kill 5 enemy players while using Invisibility in DOOM 3 Multiplayer
This does not have to be five different people, it can be done on the same person five times. You need to pick up the Invisibility power-up on the map first. It only lasts for a few seconds.

Berserked!
Use Berserk to kill a player in DOOM 3 Multiplayer
Pick up the Berserk power-up on the map and kill your boosting partner.

Telefragged!
Kill an enemy player by jumping into a teleporter after them in DOOM 3 Multiplayer
A telefrag is a kill that you receive by teleporting onto someone else.

Crushed
Catch an enemy player in the Reactor of Frag Chamber in DOOM 3 Multiplayer
On the map “Frag Chamber,” you must activate the Reactor while another player is trapped inside of it.

2 Deaths - 1 Gun
Kill two enemies in the same room with a rocket in DOOM 3 Multiplayer
This is the cruddy achievement that makes you have to find 2 other boosting partners. Have them stand close together in one room and fire a rocket at them.

Misc.

Speed Run
Complete the DOOM 3 single player campaign in 10 hours or less
This isn't hard at all. In fact, a lot of regular speed runs clock in at around 2 hours even on Nightmare mode. Best saved for your second playthrough. Just don't talk to people or read PDAs or worry about collectibles.

Killing time
Score 25000 on Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3 in DOOM 3 or RoE
During the first mission, you will eventually come across a kitchen. Head inside, and there's an arcade machine. If you're doing the collectibles, you'll end up in this area anyway, it's hard to miss. Play the arcade machine and keep rapidly clicking to kill and explode turkeys. This will take about 5 minutes.

Bot Buddy
Keep a Sentry Bot alive to its destination in DOOM 3, RoE, or Lost Mission (except Mars City)
The first qualifying Sentry Bot that you will find is at the EnPro Entrance. Make a save before you continue in case it dies so that you can reload. They can be destroyed, but they are very heavily armored; nevertheless, destroy enemies as quick as you can.

To Be or Not to Be
Kill the scientist trapped next to the Reactor Control Room in DOOM 3
This is done in Alpha Labs, Section Four. You will enter a room with a control panel that is overlooking an orange chamber, and a scientist will be trapped inside. At this point make a manual save and choose "Activate Chamber". You will get the achievement. After, load your manual save file because there is a collectible in the chamber that you will otherwise miss.

Ready for Action!
Get the BFG-9000 from Security Chief's office in DOOM 3
During the Delta Labs levels, you will come across a series of yellow boxes and a crane that you must manipulate in order to reach a ventilation shaft on the wall. Go up, and then through the shaft, and then drop down. Turn around and look left, you will see an office with the BFG-9000 inside. The code is 931.

You Laugh, It Works
Find the bloody handiwork of Betruger (in Delta 4 Hallway) in DOOM 3
At the beginning of the Delta Labs 4 level, take the first bloody hallway and hang a left, then go through two more doors. In the back right corner there is a blood covered skeleton, and beside him the words "You Laugh, It Works" are written. Just shine your flashlight on them.

All of Us
Find the id logo secret room in DOOM 3
It's located right before the final boss fight. You will go down a cave pathway made out of stone, and every few feet there will be an alcove. The very last alcove will have one stone with the id Software logo on it. Press E on the stone to get the achievement.

Boomtastic
Blow up 50 barrels in the DOOM 3, RoE, or Lost Mission campaigns
Simply shoot all of the red barrels that you see.

Turncoat
Get 2 demons to fight each other in DOOM 3, RoE, or Lost Mission
You will probably get this one by simply playing the game. However, to force this to happen, you must get a lower-ranking demon to hit a more powerful one. IE: Have an Imp fire at you, only to dodge it and hit a Cacodemon instead.

That was Close!
Kill an enemy with 1 health remaining in DOOM 3, RoE, or Lost Mission
Best suited for Recruit difficulty. Let an enemy, such as an Imp or Marine that has a pistol widdle you down to 1 HP and then finish them off. Save right before attempting.

Not a Scratch
Complete a level without taking any damage in DOOM 3, RoE, or Lost Mission (except Mars City)
Save this for the Resurrection of Evil content, the very first mission is the easiest. Save constantly, and reload if you get hit.

Lost Mission

Lost Recruit
Complete the Lost Mission campaign on Recruit
Complete the campaign on the required difficulty. Achievements stack.

Lost Marine
Complete the Lost Mission campaign on Marine
Complete the campaign on the required difficulty. Achievements stack.

Lost Veteran
Complete the Lost Mission campaign on Veteran
Complete the campaign on the required difficulty. Achievements stack.

Lost Nightmare
Complete the Lost Mission campaign on Nightmare
Complete the campaign on the required difficulty. Achievements stack.

Lost Collector
Collect every PDA in the Lost Mission campaign
Use THIS great and concise video guide.

RAGE
Find the RAGE logo in the Lost Mission
It's behind a wall to the left of the final boss stage, when you walk into the area and you are on the second story).

Gimme Time!
Defeat the Helltime Hunter in RoE
Story related, cannot be missed.

Gimme Power!
Defeat the Berserk Hunter in RoE
Story related, cannot be missed.

Shocking!
Defeat the Invulnerability Hunter in RoE
Story related, cannot be missed.

Eat This!
Defeat the Maledict boss in RoE
Story related, cannot be missed.

Evil Recruit
Complete the RoE campaign on Recruit
Complete the campaign on the required difficulty. Achievements stack.

Evil Marine
Complete the RoE campaign on Marine
Complete the campaign on the required difficulty. Achievements stack.

Evil Veteran
Complete the RoE campaign on Veteran
Complete the campaign on the required difficulty. Achievements stack.

Evil Nightmare
Complete the RoE campaign on Nightmare
Complete the campaign on the required difficulty. Achievements stack.

Evil Collector
Collect every PDA in the RoE campaign

Too Slow, Fool!
Kill 5 enemies at once while in Hell Time in RoE
You will obtain the Hell Time upgrade for the Bloodstone Artifact after defeating the Helltime Hunter boss. A decent place to get this is the Erebus Labs, Level 3, but can be done any time when there are five foes close together.

Fists of Fury
Use the Artifact with Berserk ability to punch out 20 enemies in RoE
After defeating the Berserk Hunter boss, you will get the Bloodstone Artifact upgrade for the Berserk ability. Use it to get 20 melee kills while under its effect.

Doom I

Neophyte
Complete any level in Ultimate DOOM in singleplayer
Self-explanitory.

DOOM: Episode 1
Complete DOOM Episode 1 on 'Hurt Me Plenty' or higher in single player
Self-explanitory.

DOOM: Episode 2
Complete DOOM Episode 2 on 'Hurt Me Plenty' or higher in single player
Self-explanitory.

DOOM: Episode 3
Complete DOOM Episode 3 on 'Hurt Me Plenty' or higher in single player
Self-explanitory.

DOOM: Episode 4
Complete DOOM Episode 4 on 'Hurt Me Plenty' or higher in single player
Self-explanitory.

DOOM: Rampage
Complete all DOOM levels on 'Ultra-Violence' or higher in single player
This will be hard, make no mistake about it. You may want to brush up on some tips from around the net. Saving constantly is your best friend.

DOOM: Nightmare
Complete any DOOM level on 'Nightmare' in single player
Best done on the first level of the first episode, but it's still very hard. You may want to review some of the mountains of tips from around the net.

DOOM: Burning Out of Control
Complete any DOOM level with 100% kills, items, and secrets in single player
Better left for an easier difficulty, and best done on the first level. Refer to the video guide.

Doom II

DOOM II: Just Getting Started
Complete any DOOM II level in single player
Self-explanitory.

DOOM II: From Earth to Hell
Complete all levels in 'DOOM II: Hell on Earth' in single player
Self-explanitory.

DOOM II: And Back Again
Complete all levels in 'DOOM II: No Rest for the Living' in single player
Self-explanitory.

DOOM II: Superior Firepower
Complete all 'DOOM II: Hell on Earth' levels on 'Ultra-Violence' or higher in single player
This will be a challenge. It's best to use tips from higher DOOM sources than this on how to get by if you're having problems. Save often.

DOOM II: A Really Big Gun
Find a BFG in DOOM II single player
You should just find these naturally, but if you're having problems, check out the below video guide from Map 8.

DOOM II: An Important Looking Door
Find a secret area of a DOOM II level in single player
Refer to the below achievement for more information.

DOOM II: Burning Out of Control
Complete any DOOM II level with 100% kills, items, and secrets in single player
Best done on an easier difficulty, and on the first level of the game. Refer to the video guide for more information.

For the collectibles, I'd recommend just watching HarryNinetyFour's videos (on youtube) on the collectibles instead. Watching 3 videos simultaneously is really annoying and a lot slower than it needs to be.

There's a glitch for Doom 1 and Doom 2 unlocking the achievements! It does say it disables achievements when you enable the console, but ... when you redo E1M1 the achievements unlock! Can't believe they didn't fix this!
