Invalid Credentials: How I solved it

Bought the game but can't create an account properly? Here's how I fixed my case: chances are it will work for you too.

The Frontier website: A broken mess

When launchin' the launcher for the first time, it will ask you to create a Frontier account to redeem your key. You probably did it, if you wouldn't have done it you wouldn't be here, searching for a fix. The Frontier website is terribly broken (like my english lol). When I first entered it, Google Chrome considered it has unthrusty and wouldn't let me in. I entered it anyway, because I'm a badass.


You probably landed in the insane loop that is the Invalid Credentials bug. You KNOW that you got the right email and password. You even tried to make an account again and again, only to see that the key does nothing and you won't be able to connect.

However, I found out that to use efficiently the website, I had to change device and use the tool that every cool kid have: A cellphone.
For some reasons, my cellphones (and I hope yours) can enter the website without suffering from the many bugs it offers.

tl:dr To enter the Frontier website, use your cellphone

Making an account, activating the key

So, the first step into playing Elite Dangerous is to make an account trought the Frontier website (use your phone)

In case you never made an account before, just hit the register button on top right and create your account like you normally would with a cellphone.


Once it's done, you'll have to activate your key (through your PHONE). Don't worry, if you already "activated it" throught the Frontier website on PC before you realized something wasn't right, it will still work. Follow the steps this guy provided me on your PHONE:

It's simple, so simple you can do it on your PC. Log in on the Elite Dangerous launcher with your Frontier email and password. They will then ask for a verification code, wich is sent through mail. Don't worry, it's not bugged and it should come. Just enter it and POOF you're in.


Now you can do all that bounty hunting you want.
