Beyond Human

Description
Summary: Guide a benevolent gene-manipulating virus in its campaign to bring about the next stage in human evolution in this heavily event-driven scenario. Many options and playstyles, with over 10 different endings - what will humanity's future hold?

Long version:

A genetic engineer, seeking to improve the world, creates and unleashes a benevolent virus designed to perfect humanity.

But not all humans are happy about involuntary conversion. The Last Man, a fanatical anti-transhuman organization, will stop at nothing to halt the virus in its tracks - even if they have to kill off every transhuman on the planet to do so.

Your job is to guide the virus in the campaign against the Last Man, and bring about the next stage in human evolution.

Will you manipulate the media and sell the virus to the rich on the free market, or create a cult and seek out converts among the downtrodden poor?

Will you evolve inhuman charisma and mind-muddling pheromones to seduce the world or hyperactive metabolism and bulging muscles to fight off naysayers?

Will you create a world of peace where humans and transhumans live in harmony or exterminate your stubborn enemies with nuclear force?

Will you maintain your humanity, or will you become something entirely different?

Beyond Human: Welcome to the next level of evolution.

------

This is my first scenario. It's pretty ambitious, with many possible paths and multiple endings. It's pretty much ready now, though I will probably continue to tweak it and add things in the future.

Features:

Spread the virus through subtlety, persuasion, force, marketing, or cults.
Evolve combat skills to fight the Last Man Organization.
A story that changes based on a hidden karma meter.
Several ways of dealing with those pesky island countries. War or peace, the choice is yours.
Over 10 endings. What will humanity's future hold? World peace? Radioactive wasteland? Gray goo? Matrioshka brain? Ecological paradise? Ruled by robots? Or something stranger?

So, is there a guide on the abilities, symptoms, and such that are contained in this mod?

really good but on the mobile version last man keeps annihilating me, forcing transhuman traits. Even after i evolved all symptoms except assimilation, i got like 50% lethality. gonna try again on pc version

I just want to say this is a fascinating and well thought out scenario. Being a part of the US Transhumanist party, I fully support the idea of a life enhancing virus being spread willingly and endorsed by celebrities. Really awesome mod dude, I have no idea what's going on though and am not sure how to "strategize"- I just lost a game on casual!

Would love to know more about how things work in this.

This scenario could be a game on its own. Imagine better graphics and controlling groups of cultists pouring Zarathustra into water ways or social media campaigns being started to support it.

hey, having a weird issue. trying to see if there's a "good" assimilation ending, so I went with the persuasion path and successfully infected every country, and then grabbed assimilation. naturally, very quickly everyone became infected and people started dying in droves all the way until ~200 million, then lethality plummeted to 0. I still have a few tens of thousands of deaths every day, but it'll be a very long time before I can actually finish the assimilation branch. furthermore, devolving combat traits seems to increase the infectivity bar, but doesn't seem to actually increase the number of dead each day (and after a while the bar drops back down to close to nil anyway)
