Different berries
Berries are a great way for fresh survivors to have something to eat. They're easy to gather and you can find them almost everywhere. Just keep in mind not to eat the black and white ones to fill up your hunger bar!
The best strategy is to eat the yellow, blue and red ones and keep all the other berries. If you can’t carry them anymore, drop the white berries first.

Yellow: Amarberry[ark.gamepedia.com]
Blue: Azullberry[ark.gamepedia.com]
Red: Tinoberry[ark.gamepedia.com]
The yellow, blue and red berries are similar to each other. They all replenish 1.5 food and 0.2 water. And can be used in different kinds of [recipes](http://ark.gamepedia.com/Recipes). You can use them to tame dinos but we discourage you to do so. Most dinos like the purple berries the most, and while taming it’s important to give the best food possible.


Purple: Mejoberry[ark.gamepedia.com]
We call them the taming berry. You can eat them and they will replenish the same food and water as the other berries but it’s the best to save these for taming.


White: Stimberry[ark.gamepedia.com]
The white ones are for regening your stamina, this can be very usefull when you need to run away from a dino or a other player. Only one thing to keep in mind is that they will drain your water very quickly! So, make sure you can drink something.



Black: Narcoberry[ark.gamepedia.com]
If you eat a narcoberry it will restore 4 food points! The only thing is that you will pass out when you eat them.. Use those berries to keep a dino knocked out and make narcotic out of them. With the narcotic, you can make tranq arrows and you can use it to keep a dino knocked out.



The last thing you can do with all the berries is making dyes with them in a cooking pot. You can use the dye to paint armor, structures, saddles or even your dino and other players! Check here for the Table of Dyes[ark.gamepedia.com].

Wow. I'll never look at a berry the same way! Now I know what to do with these pieces of fruit when I pick them up. I used to just throw them at Rexes. This guide changed my life.

Good simple guide.

As a note, Narco Berries are very ineffective on their own in taming, and if left in the inventory they will prevent the dino from waking up when they are tamed, which could be very troublesome for you.
