Description
A 1974 Royal Special. King Edward 1 blue King for the Royal Highnesses, The Duke of Edinburgh, and his two sons, Prince Andrew and today is Prince Edward's 10th birthday.

Route: Falmouth Branch
Duration: 30 minutes
Scenario: Standard
Extra DLC: Riviera Line in the 50s (Exeter to Kingswear)

Take the 'Royals' from their boat moored alongside at Falmouth Docks, to Newham, where they are to tour the dock area, and attend a function.

A floating flotilla today at Falmouth! There are numerous boats of all sizes on the water - even a cargo ship detoured slightly to welcome the 'Royals'. A festive atmosphere.

There are also numerous patriotic 'Royalists' lining the track, wanting to wish Prince Edward a 'Happy Birthday'.

You are free to use your whistle along the line for any group of well wishers, no matter how small.

The signals are clear for the whole route for you, so - sticking to the speed limit, enjoy the run, and the sound of GWR's finest steam engine.

Hi rdp42. Yes I can still remember it - and you are correct it is probable a King would not have been allowed. Cheers. A fun story. I don't bend the rules very often, but for the novelty value, it was worth it.

This is quite old now but it still gives much pleasure. Whether the heavy King would be allowed in these parts, I do not know. But never mind, it was a good story. Hope you can still remember it. Best wishes.
