Sherman Firefly: "I'm a tier 3 tank! It's not just a phase mom!"
By The Uncleanest One and 1 collaborators
In this guide I will teach you why you never take an American lend lease, except if it's the Achilles. Everything is based on my personal experience with the tank.

Introduction:
This tank it’s the definition to why you shouldn’t bring a tier 2 tank to tier 3. Before the BR changes it was a 5.0 tank and was god awful. Now it’s 4.7 and still, it’s awful. Let’s talk about the pros and cons of this tank.
Pros:
Decent weapon.
Good reload.
Cons:
Your armor is the same of a Sherman at tier 2. So, it’s weak as Bush Junior’s exterior policies.
You are high as hell. No, not Snoop Dog level of high, Twin towers level of high.
Bad speed, bad maneuverability and bad backwards speed. You are as fast as half the American population.
Solid shot ammo forever.
4 crew member, 3 of them are on your turret, 1 shot your turret and you are done, folks.
-5º of negative elevation.
Slow elevation to your big gun.

In this tank you’ll need to camp a lot so, prepare your tea and crumpets, and be ready to whine about the tank because it’s not British made Churchillium steel plates.

This is what Americans thought they created:
This is what the British thought they got:
What they really got:

Even now, British Tier 3 is bull crap. You get, at the start a Heavy that feels slower than a Maus, a Tank Hunter that it's a Tier 2, and a medium that is bad, then you get the Avenger and you get raped by your turret the size of India. The only tanks at tier 3 that are worth a ♥♥♥♥ are the Comet I and the Challenger because they get APDS, but do not expect much.
Modifications and ammo loadauts:
First, you go for Parts and Shot Mk.4, then FPE and Shot Mk.8, everything else is optional, it’s not like it’s going to make you faster or make you react faster.

You should carry always 46 rounds, this will empty your turret’s ammo racks and will, at least, make you survive more.
Roles:
This tank can do three roles: Support, Harasser and Sniper.

Support:
It's easy, you stick with your nearest TrumpWall heavy tank and you use your Inferior superior cannon to grab them by the p*ssy kill them.

Harasser:
You flank, you catch unsuspecting enemies with no situational awareness, because your engine is loud as hell, and you die alone and with diabbetes.

Sniper:
This role is the best for this tank, specially with the Shot Mk.8, the only problem to this is your ♥♥♥♥ negative elevation. You camp the Bush, you get nervous when someone spots you, then you die because of a heart attack because some filthy plane decided to bomb you.
Thanks for reading.
Also, thanks to Lady Valentine for helping me with the sh*tty photoshop.

Real question: Why are you playing Bri'ish ground forces? The only thing those tanks are good for is warming your water for tea when the tank becomes a smoldering wreck.

v Get your fucking head out the toilet this is is far from fucking "historically accurate"

☭Communist Space Marine☭ That's fair enough, my experience with the Sherman Firefly's from when it was 5.0 and that was the edge of the Tiger event horizon. At 4.7 it might have a bit better luck.

i generally liked this review
its humorous and its truthful, the brit tanks really do need a buff tbh over the german seal team 6 glass snipers, and idk why people say "oh brit tanks are insanely good on desert maps" like son the german 75m just obliterates your paper thin armour whereever you are, and the stuka makes this even worse for you behind cover

seriously just a speed boost would be amazing

16 Bit scholar, depending on the tanks you fight you may survive a direct hit to the turret if you do not have ammo racks in it, and at 4.7 I've been fighting T-34's, KV-1's and some tier 3 stuff, at tier 2 with the stock bullet and some upgraded ones you can do work, also stupid people tend to hit your hull and not your turret and it seems that in tier 2 they are pretty common. And, even then, if you fight germans your gun will shine because you aren't fighting Tigers on a regular basis, just Panzer IV F2/G's, Marders, Flakbus and there Solid Shot is decently good because of the flat armour those tanks have.

Good memes, but the Firefly was entirely a British creation.

Besides that, this guide has too many trump memes is fucking awful why the fuck do people this strikethroughs are funny is good.

I would strongly contest the order of modifications research. Ammo types should, in my opinion, take priority over Parts and FPE. There's a twin reason for this: a. AP is a joke, and b. if you get shot to the point of needing to repair, in this tank chances are you're dead already. So mitigating your horrible initial ammo gives you an advantage when you still have the surprise in each encounter and improves, imo, survivability more than parts and FPE do.

Idk about the firefly or lend lease variants of the Sherman, but its early models, with the 75mm M3 cannon, are very capable at their teir - and give panzers and T-34 a good run for their money. At high teir, the Shermans with the upgraded 76mm guns are pretty much worse than the T-34, as their armor means just about nothing at that tier (but you can bounce incomming rounds if your lucky) and the gun is once again, worse than the russian 85mm, with the APHEBC 76mm round getting somewhat less pen than the 85mm APHE. All in all, the M4A_ (76) is essentially a gun with very bad pen but nuclear explosive filler, on a slow, poor mount. M4A3 does get better handling though, much less brick like. Then the M4A3E2 Jumbos are litteral reincarnations of Christ, and bring an entirely different story.

It wasn't that great in War, remember that it's a regular sherman and it had the same mechanical problems, also it was a precaution tank, because tank battles in the Eastern Front were kinda rare.
